I tried, but the relationship between the MCs felt platonic, like there wasn't much development in that area, and when something did happen, it felt...forced.
Throughout the story, OLIVIA just gave me the impression of a sad, overworked emo girl in comparison to her status of wealth. Obviously a woman grieving for her deceased mother, Olivia isn't happy at all. Period. Her character also seemed very cut off from everything else, like she deliberately distances herself from others, making it hard to relate with. In other words, she's one depressed woman. I can see the signs, seeing how I've personally felt the same...hopelessness in life, though not to the point of suicide. The only one I liked the most was her cat Chesna. Otherwise, I felt the plot was quite monotonous, nothing happens that is overtly significant and I wouldn't call exchanging a few conversations with each other - a relationship building development.
CREW was just...too stiff and almost emotionless. I'm also not a fan of when someone has lost their previous lovers and deep down mourns the loss. While I like what Crew's character represented, I'm sorry but Olivia and his co-worker Taylor had better interaction than the main leads.
OVERALL I decided to drop this because I didn't and couldn't see the romance going in the direction that I prefer. Where was the steam in the romance? It should have started sizzling right from the first meeting, but no, it was...very anticlimactic.
