Sie verbrachte viele Jahre in Skandinavien, Neuseeland und den USA und ist seit 2012 hauptberuflich als Autorin tätig. Ihre Spezialität ist die Vorortrecherche: So hat sie in Haiti an einer Voodoo-Zeremonie teilgenommen, bei einer Dschungel-Tour Termiten gegessen, im Hochspannungslabor Blitze erzeugt und ist und durch den berüchtigten Selbstmordwald am Fuße des Fuji gewandert.
