The Ghostmaker

Rate this book
Jack Boulder was known as the best riffleman in his army regiment, but also as a loose cannon. When he took matters into his own hands and shot a man during his tour of Ireland, the army retired him quickly and quietly so as not to cause an incident with Dublin. Since then Jack has been living hand to mouth helping run a small gun club and pay his mounting credit card bills. Haunted by nightmares of being trapped on a tube train without any stations and bored with civilian life, he gets a phone call before work one morning offering him a job for 100 thousand pounds. As instructed, he does not tell his wife and goes to a local phone box to recieve more detailed instructions and agrees to take the hit job offered without knowing who the target is and only guessing at who his employers are. A decision he will live to regret.
