I really enjoyed this arc, it was semi similar to how the last arc was set up. But it is a continuation on how the clans are doing after that series. It really develops on how dependent clan life is on star clan

I thought the friendship between frost, night and sun was really sweet and I liked the city cats which frost and night meet at the park and their meditation.

Seeing rootspring was SO sad, poor little guy.
I also like the new system with the clans, finally putting an end to the forbidden romance trope!!! now cats can choose which clan they’d like to be in, if for a mate as long as they commit to doing the trials the clan leader has set, which can be biased like nightheart experienced.

Splashtail was an incredibly interesting villain, he was young and influenced frost as well as her mother curlfeather to push her into becoming a medicine cat - to then make curlfeather the leader, splashtail the deputy. Curlfeather being evil was like a HUGE twist imo, when we find she’s been guiding frost from the dark forest.

Love that we’ve explored more clans personas, and fear that pressed everyone to follow splashtail - when he was using the kits??????? CRAZY. + when he had killed the deputy in front of everyone. I felt for mothwing cause she’s still mourning her former apprentice too.

Also!!!! win for the girls this arc Squirrelstar, deputy ivypool and Icestar!!!

All three protagonist characters were actually interesting this arc, nightheart with his inner conflict of being related to firestar yet being nothing like him. And sunbeams conflict with love, then eventually falling for nightheart and frost’s whole medicine cat ordeal, being close to death TWICE. Also getting spayed without knowing 3
