If you begin to suspect that the number of cute animals (or less cute ones, it all works for me) in a story is equal to the number of extra stars I give...
you're probably right ;)

Briar and West

West is wanted for murder and Briar stumbles upon him on her property. Things get a little out of control. But something about West makes Briar trust him so she covers for him.

Then things get heated and the attraction that was put on hold before comes roaring back.
The man hunt and the otter were interesting I enjoyed this one overall the most I think.
Really enjoying the narration.

As always this author takes me to Alaska with every page she writes and every story she pens.

Her writing is crisp, her vivid descriptions are easily visualized and outstanding and I love the great Alaskan wilderness she puts within her story. I feel as though I am there within the story = and its certainly a place I would love to visit.

I can smell the old spice, the fresh air and see the gorgeous views put forth.. sigh _ I love Alaska and have never been there - that's how well his author scribes her stories.

Fireweed is book three in The Wild Women of Alaska series, and I have to say I really enjoyed it.

We have chemistry between the characters "Briar and West" that will rock your socks off. ** wink wink ** I really enjoyed both characters, and the steamy scenes mmmm ..

Suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat and a storyline that will certainly keep you guessing till the end.

The dialogue is refreshing and amusing, the characters are brought forward from other books. Which I found blended in nicely and the interaction within the characters well presented.

Overall - Tiffinie Helmer is an author I follow and will continue to read.. Great shorter story but filled to the brim with lots of goodness.

Unpredictable, suspenseful, and Edgy !

Fireweed is the 3rd book in the Wild Women of Alaska series, and I was not disappointed with the latest installment. I always get excited when a new book of Tiffinie Helmer hits the bookstores because I know I will be in for a treat. Not only do I love the characters, especially a strong female lead, and the storyline, Tiffinie always paints such a beautiful picture of Alaska that it inspires me to want to go and visit it. The only negative thing I would have to say is that I wished it was longer because I did not want the book to end, but that is how I feel about all her books. You can easily read it as a stand alone book, but you would appreciate it more if you read the previous books, because it is not uncommon for some of those characters to make an appearance in her other books, plus her series is just so entertaining.

Amazing book. Ms. Helmer has done it again!

This is the latest in the Wild Women of Alaska series, and can be read as a stand-alone, but you will want to go back and read the other books in the series too!

Our hero is a convicted criminal on the run from the law, but he is innocent. Our heroine is a wild-animal rescue veterinarian, and she can tell that the steamy hero is innocent just like she can tell when one of her wild animals is in pain. He kidnaps her and holds her hostage initially, she earns his trust, and then reality sets in. Their connection is fast, and the plot is as great as the hot and romantic scenes.

I just could not put this down - read it one fast sitting, and will go back tonight and read it again - my only complaint is that it was JUST TOO SHORT! I want more!

I loved this book just like I do all of Tiffinies books. The story was so well written you can't stop once you start, so I recommend making sure you have some free time before you begin reading. I sat down with this book thinking, "oh, I'll just read a little of it before I get off my lazy butt and clean the house." I was very mistaken. When I finished the book a couple hours later I finally removed my lazy bottom from the couch and accomplished something. I love the characters and the fact that you get to catch up with a few old friends along the way. My only complaint is that it had to end but that is probably a good thing or I would happily stay in the world of wild women (with their delicious men).

When West and Briar meet , a match made in heaven it is not . West is a former U.S. Marshal accused and convicted of murder. Escaped and on the run Briar should be afraid but this spitfire gives as good as she gets. Sparks have ignited and now the feelings they have sparked off will rage through them like a wildfire . But from the fire comes the beauty of a blooming love like a Fireweed

Now the race is on , with the state's resources bearing down , West has no choice to run. Run from a chance at love run for his life.

I just didn't want this book to end. If you are familiar with Ms Helmer's books you will get a chance to visit with some old friends! Already I am itching for the next Wild Women of Alaska!!

I wrote a fabulous review immediately after reading this book, but you'll have to take my word for it as it seems to have disappeared somewhere out in cyberspace. So here we go again, Review 2.0:

I had my doubts going into this as to how our hero could be a convicted killer, on the run. But of course, Tiffinie Helmer never lets her readers down. The hero is a former US Marshal who was framed while investigating corruption. This is a continuation of a sub-plot from a previous story, and helps to tie up some loose ends.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of mystery and suspense, and a whole lot of sizzle, in the romance books she they read.

I read this in a couple of hours, a short story or Novella. Tiffinie Helmer packs lots of excitement into the book. I hunkered down to read and enjoyed every minute. Loved the bear and otter, loved the trust that given a chance it would grow. A lovely love story, a strong women who takes a chance. Now my only complaint is it was too short I wanted a long story, so much pressed into a short. I do complain about this all the time, as I am not a fan of shorts. When you have a author like Tiffinie the waiting is hard for the next book, and then bam it is over and your waiting again. I loved the book I loved the story and I love Tiffinie, Hooked on Helmer!

WOW!! Another winner in the Wild Women series by Tiffinie Helmer!! I loved this book!! Escaped convict, West McAllister, takes Briar hostage, in her own home, no less!! She is bound & determined to get away from him. But, her heart has other plans. Briar & West have a real connection~ she helps him evade capture~for now. Wild Alaskan animals can't compare to the passion that these two have for each other. Tasetful steamy sex scene, rugged Alaskan scenery, and a strong, independent woman + a sexy, hunky escapee = an awesome read that you won't want to miss!!

Another truly awesome short story by Tiffinie Helmer. Each one of her books that I have read, especially her short stories leave me wanting more of the story. West and Briar in this story were so real and normal down to earth characters everyone can relate to them. Seward, Alaska is truly a wonderful and beautiful place. Loved the story line. Not one you read a lot of. Beautifully development characters and the plot was fast and entertaining. I loved that this author brought back characters from Moosed-Up, Hooked and Bait.

Another fantastic read from Ms Helmer's Wild Women Of Alaska. Briar and West come together when she finds him hiding out on her property after escaping from prison. He was framed for murder. She is a wildlife refuge and she has all these amazing animals on her land. OD is my favorite of the whole book I think. He kidnaps her and then sparks begin flying and the rest is history. You definitely will love this book and the whole series actually! Happy reading!

FAST AND FULL OF ACTION - A great fast and intense read! The story line is believable and well written. The characters suck you into their world and straight into the action. The book is a stand alone read, but does include some charaters from some of Tiffinie's other books without you being lost/confused in this story line. I recommand this book and other books by Tiffinie Helmer!!

I am never disappointed in a book written by Tiffinie. She has a way of build and developing her stories that make them draw you in from the first page until the last. I love how she bring in her past presents and some times future stories into the mix adding layer upon layer to each one. You can read them as stand alones but once you have read one you will want them all.

Another five star book from Tiffinie. Briar and West are a great couple. I would love to read more about them. And the heavy metal names for the animals was awesome

The bad man has escaped from prison and made his way to the wildlife rehabilitation reserve. The good girl finds him in her shed. They fight, he wins but she shows her strength in the process. He's impressed but doesn't want to show it. She's intrigued but doesn't want to show it. She decides to hide him rather than turn him in because her pet Otter likes him and so does her gut.

I enjoyed this story about a strong woman who trusts her instincts and a man who's just fighting for justice. The animals were a nice addition. I would have liked it to be a little longer, but the characters were developed and it was nice to see characters from Tiffinie Helmer's other books although this can be read as a standalone.

Tiffinie's books have strong characters and beautiful Alaskan scenery. They are romance stories with humor and I've enjoyed each one I've read.

Briar and West - West is an escaped convict who finds himself on Briar's land. At first he captures her to keep her from turning him in. But soon he becomes enamored by her fiery spirit and love for the animals she takes care of. West is being framed and Briar is soon convinced of his innocence but the Marshalls are looking for him. It's a short suspenseful read.

Ooops.. Found out the hard way that you have to read these in order. Major spoilers.

The story was good. Always love to read about someone that works with wildlife. The romance felt a little forced, but not a big thing.

This is a good read, but you should really read the novella Bait first. I liked the characters and especially the animals.

West McAllister, ex-US Marshall, was an escaped convict. He'd been framed and now because of a hit gone wrong, he was on the run. Now he could find the information he needed to prove his innocence. Briar Levine runs a wildlife rehabilitation habitat. When she came upon a man hiding in the feed shed, she never expected it to be the US Marshall gone bad, that's been all over the news.

Great story! My only complaint is that I wish it were longer. Realistic story line that has terrific flow and strong characters. O.D. was awesome! Thank you Tiffinie Helmer for a fantastic adventure with the Wild Women of Alaska. I can't wait to read more!
