David Family Saga

Bailey’s short life may be rendered even shorter if fortune doesn’t turn her wheel. Unfortunately, most of what she needs is out of her control. The one thing she can control is the quantity and quality of her sex life. She dreams of connecting with a dominant male, one who knows how to take what he wants, one who can deliver the kind of illicit sex that will make her feel desired and dirty and totally satisfied.

In spite of the fact that he goes home with a different girl almost every night, Parker is all too happy to give Bailey what she wants. But after he gets a taste of Bailey obsession takes hold. He wants her, and while he’s never been in an exclusive relationship, Bailey has him pondering monogamy. Problem is, Bailey’s not interested. In fact, she goes to great lengths to prevent the development of deep feelings between them.

Parker senses a raging tide boiling beneath Bailey’s surface and he intends to find out what she’s hiding. When Bailey’s camouflage is removed, Parker is compelled to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I lead a double life. By day I’m training young women to become speech therapists. At night I sip red wine, dial down all distractions, and sink into the fictional worlds I create. Good tunes on my iPod are a must. I get so caught up in my characters that I truly wish the male hero would materialize in the flesh; especially when I see the cover image…I swoon.

I have spent the past several years working as a university instructor. My students are young adult females so I’m constantly running plot lines and book covers by them. They make a great beta team! I love my job at the university but there is something I love even more. . . romance novels. I'll read any genre as long as there are steamy sex scenes and the standard issue HEA ending. Initially I was drawn in by the escape and sweeping emotion of it all, so much so, I began to create my own fictional world.

Since I worked during the day my nights were consumed with writing. I was powerless to stop the stories that wanted to be freed from my mind. I actually started to get mixed up. I would think something I wrote at night was something I had said during the working day and vice versa. My friends were worried for my sanity but I assured them I had not gone mad, I was just writing. Once I started I wrote upwards of 3,000 words per day.

It was in the early millennium when I became brave enough to share my stories with others. I began to post my stories on fiction websites and then something marvelous happened—I was followed by hundreds of eager readers. I loved my followers and their kind words helped motivate me.

These days I am writing books and I’ve learned some things about myself during the process. I like to write series novels because I have trouble letting go. I like a little plot with my romance, erotica, contemporary. Call it what you will, but I have to have a good story in which to sink my teeth. If I start writing a story I have to finish it, even if it’s terrible.

My dog is my muse and when he tilts his forehead at me and blinks his large black eyes questioningly at me, I think he is worried I've been sucked into the wormhole of the very fiction that I write. I appreciate his concern but I have yet to fall down the rabbit hole. Here's to everyone else in my boat, may our voyage become a permanent destination.

2.5-3.0 RATING- I thought the barebones of the plot could have been good but it just didn't ever really come together for me. Overall, I just didn't care for it that much and won't continue with the series.

I have been in a book funk and was looking for something, I just didn't know what. This book had IT without all the fluff!! Hot, sexy, little dirty and that is just the sex. Don't get me started on the David's!! These men are pure alpha and when they set theirs sights on something, nothing gets in their way. Bailey needed hope and Parker needed taming. Read how two people that have commitment uses can't seem to stay away from each other!!

This is your typical girl meets man-whore with commitment issues story line. However, there’s the added unique element in the fact that our heroine is dying. Depressing premise? Yes. Amazing story? Hell yes!

OMG I freakin’ loved this one. Bailey is sort of fulfilling her final bucket list due to her illness. One item she wants to check off is having rough sex with a man who knows what the hell he’s doing, but who also doesn’t treat her like a fragile doll. I mean, who doesn’t have that item on their bucket list? Boy oh boy, does Parker deliver on all accounts! The sexual tension simmering between these two makes it impossible to limit their escapades to just one night. Seriously, love everything we’ve got going on in this sexy, yet emotional read.

I have read many a book where our lead couple tries to limit their emotional connection, and just keep it all about the bumping of their nether regions. This usually has to do with the fact that one of our characters is afraid of love, or is convinced they’re not worthy of finding happiness. Well, in this particular romance read, Bailey has an added reason of trying to avoid the development of her feelings with Parker, and that’s because she doesn’t want to leave him all alone when she eventually passes on. Ugh, I’ve got all the feels going on right now!

As for Parker, he’s always been a wham, bam, thank you ma’am kind of a guy. Establishing a long-term and loving relationship with a woman has never been on his own personal bucket list. Enter Bailey, and he thinks he’s finally found the one woman worth changing his lifestyle for. When he finally discovers the truth about her illness, and that the only woman he’s ever truly loved is dying, it’s simply heartbreaking. Parker will do anything to spend just one more moment with her; Bailey has resigned herself to dying; my eyes aren’t getting watery. I’m not reaching for a tissue. I’m just…there’s something in my eye…oh for the love of God I’m balling here ok! There I said it! You try and read this without getting emotional.

I just had to read Parker's book after I reading Jackson and Clara's story and her walking in on him and his man-ho-ness in action. Then I had to read 'Shameless' to see what had sent him on his downward spiral of slutty behavior. It was all good!
Bailey has been sick for so long, that she has given up and is now going through her bucket list before the 'big end'. On her bucket list is a night of passion with a stranger, the ubiquitous one night stand. Lucky for her, she goes home with Parker only to end up working for him a few days later in a strange twist of fate. As Parker gets to know her, he finds himself falling in love but can't understand why she keeps him at arms length. Can he convince her to take a chance for the sake of their love??
Some reviewers complain about the realism of her illness. . It was done tastefully and sensitively.
The ending was sweet and not just because of the hero, and I found myself a bit teary eyed.

Fast Read, but Emotional

4-4 1/2 stars. Very fast and entertaining read. I totally enjoyed the concept of the plot and the characters themselves. I felt the author did a great job showing the different struggles both the H and h were having--her dealing with the fact she was trying to live what little life she had left to the fullest, and him coming to terms with feelings for the h he did not think we're possible for him. I thought it got pretty emotional at times, and actually found myself tearing up. Intimate scenes were super spicy, but I felt, well done. Writing style was very good, and flow moved very quickly--timeline moved almost too fast in some places. Overall, I really enjoyed it. There is a nice set up for the next book I can't wait to start.

I was swept away by Bailey Jones as she struggles to live her life to the fullest, for as long as she has life left to her to live, which isn't long with a terminal illness. The last thing she wants is to get emotionally involved with Parker David. Just give her some good old fashioned rough sex and forgo the intimacy of sensual sex and it should be just fine but Parker is falling in love with Bailey. The rug gets pulled out from under his feet when he realizes Bailey is dying.

This is a story about choosing to live and love in the face of death and loss. I will say, there is a part in the book that made me cry (make sure you have some tissue ready). It was a great story and I love the David family. I can't wait to read more about the David brother's lives.

I was in awe with Bailey and her believe in herself to live her life to the fullest, for as long as she has life in her. But that wouldn't be long with the terminal illness that she has had since she was a child. The last thing is to get emotionally involved with Parker David which she doesn't want. But even though she tries not to she falls for him. He is a player but he loves her too. Then he fines out she is dying but he can save her if she would let him.
I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone to read!!

Bailey and Parker start out as a one night stand, but things change the next morning when Bailey goes to do the walk of shame and sees Parker's brother, Julian, who she has dated. Julian also set Bailey up with a job interview with no other than Parker. Parker has to acknowledge that he wants more than one night with Bailey and he's curious about her secrets. Bailey tries to hide her illness. When Parker finds out everything changes. These two can't stay away from each other and when they are together sparks ignite. This was a really good book.

God I love these books!

I have read the St Martins both sets and now I am working on the David saga. I love this author! The stories are great and I can't quit reading them. I hope she keeps them coming. I wish we could once in a while get a small taste of what is going on with the other characters. I love it! Keep going.

I wished that the author did research about the topic of kidney failure/dialysis/transplant. Someone living with this does not do the things that the heroin did in this book.
