The Robot and Automation Almanac - 2022: The Futurist Institute by Jason Schenker is another great book by this prolific author. The future holds plenty of challenges, not the least of which is the way business operates while embracing technology. This book is a compilation of essays that speak to those challenges, by experts in their respective fields. The future holds much promise but only if we can capitalize on new technology such as NFT's, the metaverse and of course, artificial intelligence as a whole. Knowing how to adapt to an unknown future is key to success. Reading these essays by prominent and thoughtful leaders can assist you in that endeavor. A great read and one that may certainly prove useful in the near future, this book is highly recommended.

Just as the Farmer's Almanac is used to schedule planting and growth for the year, The Robot and Automation Almanac - 2022 is used to plan what changes and challenges are expected for robots and AI use. Jason Schenker gives us a view of what challenges we are facing and why. While reading this robotic engineering book, I felt our economy is teetering to find a balance. The ultimate goal is to use technology to help drive costs down, production up, and hire people to stabilize our economy. The pandemic forced us to shake things up and reach new dimensions. I am interested in the development of voicebots and look forward to the endless directions they will take.

For years the effects of Automation have been studied, however, this book brings us thoughts in the form of essays by leading thinkers in the industry who share their knowledge and can give their opinions on what will be “big” in the upcoming year.
I found this to be very interesting. The topic is always welcome, and the people who head up the different essays were well versed in their respective fields. I think that this will be an interesting book to revisit and see how much of it truly came to be.
