Troy Marshall doesn’t do chaos. Or feelings. Or anyone who threatens the control he’s spent years perfecting as a ruthless lawyer turned politician. But then free-spirited Georgia Cameron moves in.
She’s the nanny. His grandson’s nanny. Too young, too reckless, and way too curious for a man with a political reputation to protect. She should be off-limits.
But try telling that to the part of him that can’t stop watching her.
Georgia: The Hamptons were supposed to be a break—one last summer job before I figure out my next move. Instead, I got a brooding, single grandfather who makes my skin prickle and my heart pound. He’s twice as grumpy as anyone warned me and ten times more magnetic than he has any right to be. And when the walls come down between us, what we find in the quiet is nothing like what I expected.
He has a campaign to win. I have a past I can’t outrun. But somehow, in the middle of secrets and second chances, we keep finding our way back to each other.
And maybe that’s the real risk. Not falling for him— But what happens when I have to leave.
This is book 1 in the Whitewood Creek Farm series and can be read as a standalone.
This had me laughing out loud, kicking my feet and grinning ear to ear! Georgia was easy to fall in love with, her character is written welland i loved how real all of her emotions felt! Big Papa Troy though, all brooding and grumpy, but a huge softy when it came to protecting those he cared about! This story was well writen and im definitely looking forward to hearing about the rest of Troys siblings in the upcoming books!!
Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.50, the ending did feel a tad bit rushed, i felt like it definitely could have been drawn out more but LOVED this story either way!! Spice🌶️🌶️🌶️
I originally read this book because I saw a TikTok from the author about the second book and I hate jumping in mid-series...
That said, I am so glad I went ahead and read this one first. Georgia and Troy were such a fun couple to read about. From their first encounter, to the epilogue I was in love with both of them the entire time. Bonus points for James because I also love the heck out of him. Not the typical "you're old enough to be my dad" age gap, but there are a significant number of years between them. Troy is a very serious, lawyer / political consultant needing a nanny for his (toddler) grandson - I know, I know but seriously Troy is the hottest grandpa!! Georgia is a fun-loving, go with the flow nanny who simply isn't ready to go back home to Texas yet when she takes the job.
Some parts felt a little rushed, but when you know you know and you can't let social norms stop you from finding your forever.
This was such a fun read! Georgia and Troy had undeniable chemistry right from the start. She’s a nanny about to be out of a job and desperately doesn’t want to have to move back home. Troy is a country boy at heart turned political advisor who needs a nanny for his grandson. (He’s a very young grandpa lol). There was so much tension and angst between these two. I really enjoyed it. The ending left me interested in the next brothers story and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for that.
If you love these tropes then you will love this book!
✨age gap ✨nanny/employer ✨grumpyXsunshine ✨slow burn ✨forced proximity
This was my first read from this author, and I really enjoyed it! Troy is caring for his two year old grandson while his son is away at school, and Georgia is a nanny searching for a new position after her previous family moves. Their meet cute is an accidental encounter 😉, so when they see each other again during her interview, it’s a fun shock for both of them.
Troy is guarded at first, but once he realizes what he wants with Georgia, he’s all in! Their chemistry is sweet, steady, and impossible not to root for.
In Where the Blacktop Ends, Sophia Jade brings us a whirlwind romance with a healthy dose of humour, sexual tension, and personalities that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.
The story kicks off with an unexpected 'steamy' encounter when Georgia, a small-town girl, literally lands on the lap of Troy, a wealthy political and legal advisor. This awkward and hilarious meeting sets the stage for the simmering chemistry that builds between the two.
Georgia, in her late twenties and facing the prospect of unemployment, is grappling with the idea of returning to her family's small town ranch—a future she finds unappealing. Meanwhile, Troy lives a life of structure, routine, and predictability, his days carefully planned to avoid surprises. Georgia, whose love for adventure and disregard for his meticulous instructions, drives him crazy in all the right ways. Their relationship develops into a delightful mix of frustration, longing, and undeniable attraction.
The story is a slow burn of sexual tension, and Sophia Jade does a fabulous job of capturing this between these two characters. As the backstories of both characters unfold, readers are drawn deeper into their connection.
What stands out in this book is the humour and sensuality that Sophia Jade weaves together seamlessly. The steamy moments are not just physical—they carry emotional weight, making every encounter more than just a surface-level attraction.
With family ties, and the looming question of whether they can make it work, this book takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster that’s both tender and hot. The sizzling tension between Georgia and Troy makes it impossible to put down, and is enticing.
Overall, Where the Blacktop Ends is a spicy, humorous, and emotionally charged romance that will leave readers hoping for more from Sophia Jade. If you're looking for a book with strong chemistry, and endearing characters, this one is definitely worth the ride.
If you’re looking for a true grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract vibe, this is the book for you!! Georgie and Troy couldn’t be more different from the outside looking in, but throughout the storyline you’re able to understand and truly see the depth in them and what brings them together. The book has spicy scenes, but they are very mushed together (not all throughout the book), so if spice isn’t your thing they could easily be skipped! I feel like the slow-burn trope caused the ending to feel rushed and the spicy scenes to happen back to back once they were together, so I would’ve preferred if things were a little less 0to 100 so quickly, but overall I really enjoyed the story line, character, and emotional depth of the book.
Good story: This was a fairly enjoyable contemporary romance and whilst I liked Georgia and Troy, I did wish that they communicated more as it was only at the very end that we have much meaningful dialogue. I really enjoyed the ending but thought that the rest of the story could have benefited from more interactions between the main characters. I was intrigued by the unfolding story and enjoyed meeting the rest of the friends and family members too. This book is in need of further editing, however I did read an advanced copy so hopefully all the errors will have been corrected prior to publishing. Troy and Georgia had me all caught up in this story. Their banter and antics had me laughing and cheering them on. He is a lawyer turned politician who needs a nanny for his grandson and Georgia is hired. This starts their path, and it is a journey filled with self-discovery and blossoming love between them. Will it also lead them to happiness. This heartfelt story was fun to read, and I loved connecting with the characters as the story unfolded. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
THE BANTER, CHEMISTRY AND ANGST BETWEENT THESE 2 CHARACTERS IS PERFECT !! The story starts off with their one off encounter... Georgia legit lands on his lap ... lol. She is facing unemployment and doesnt want to return to her family as a failure... Troy is the regimented , lawyer... lives his life on a set schedule and when she comes into his life it throws everything for a loop...
I laughed out loud loving every minute of this book. Brilliant chemistry, banter between are two lead Georgia and Troy. Georgia is a nanny who is about to loose her job and so does not want to move back home. Loved that Troy at heart is a country boy, even though is he is a political advisor who finds himself in need of a nanny for his grandson. Let’s say the two of them are not at ease with each alway tension, but soon love develops between them.
Jade does such a great job with inner monologues. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed about her writing and Georgias inner monologue doesn’t disappoint!
I have three words for you..
Hefty. hefty. hefty. *giggles*
The chemistry, the steam and the laughs are all there. If you love a grumpy/sunshine trope, this book is for you.
But, with all the laughs there are deeper sides to this story. Such a great read!

Where the Blacktop ends is a great grumpy sunshine, nanny/employer romance. FMC Georgia is unemployed and MMC Troy needs a nanny for his grandson. This story was well written and the characters emotions felt real. The author, Sofia Jade, did a great job of writing the tension and angst. When the two finally came together it was a great payoff! Tropes: ✨age gap ✨nanny/employer ✨grumpyXsunshine ✨slow burn ✨forced proximity
This is definitely not on of the typical age gap romance. Yes, she is younger and he is older; she is free-spirited and sunshine, he is grumpy and serious; she is the nanny, he is the grandpa; All this said, the story has an interesting plot with wonderful characters that have undeniable chemistry and secrets that can destroy everyone around them. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.
Where the Blacktop Ends by Sofia Jade is the first book in the Whitewood Creek Farm Series. I really enjoyed reading Georgia and Troy's story. Troy needs to hire a nanny for his grandson and Georgia is hired. Their story is well written, which made it hard to put down. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

He is about to find his grandson nanny a temptation he needs to resist but is finding it very hard to do so. She is only there for a while and she needs to keep her past hidden. Unfortunately fate has very different ideas so see how it will all go I received an advance copy from hidden gems and a great love story
This was like a 3.75 for me but had to round up! I got this ARC from hiddengems and I was into it from the start. It made me laugh and had a nice amount of spice, I love a forbidden romance and an age gap and this has both! I just want to give Troy a hug, his drive to work hard for his family was so beautiful and was my favorite part of the story. I need Cash’s story!!
I love this book, absolutely loved it. Captivating from beginning to end. Definitely going to read more books by this amazing author 💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗🥀💗.

Troy is a lawyer turned politician who thrives on control. he meets free-spirited Georgia when she moves in as his grandson’s nanny. She’s too young, too reckless, and far too tempting for a man with a reputation to protect. Will he be able to fight the chemistry between them?
This book had so much potential to be great. The buildup of tension and angst between Troy and Georgia should have lead to spectualar sex. unfortunately, spicy scenes were incredibly flat. And if I read "hefty, hefty, hefty" one more time, I would have puked. Such a turn off.
This book had me laughing, grinning and not wanting to put it down. well written and a great story line I loved following Troy and Georgia's path from getting to know each other to getting their HEA.
