From USA Today Bestselling Author Alexandra Silva comes an enemies-to-lovers, mafia meets secret society romance inspired by Beauty and The Beast and The Frog Prince.
Tomasz Vassily is a criminal. A Bratva prince I was sent to kill.
But the beast was one step ahead. His force is unlike anything I've ever encountered. Beautiful on the outside and deadly on the inside, he sees through my ruse even in the dark.
In the blink of an eye, killer becomes captive, and target becomes captor.
Now I'm caged by his violence and prey to his mind games. Day after day, he taunts me with his ruthless cruelty. But I'm more than a killer.
I'm a survivor.
Self-preservation says I should fear him. Loyalty to my family says I should hate him. Somehow, his darkness draws me in. Like a missing piece of my soul, it fills all the cracks, leaving me weak to his small mercies.
One touch at a time, he consumes me with a longing I've never felt. I'm aching for his kisses. Burning for his volatile affections.
Tomasz is poison. Our love is a sin written in the stars.

dark captive mafia romance with a ruthless bratva prince and an assassin who was meant to kill him 🖤
honestly i just loved that the fmc didn’t fall so fast over the mmc 😅 he’s hot and all but i literally felt no chemistry between them even though they had so many moments together. i just felt that those moments were rushed and that it had such amazing potential to be more. i definitely felt the attraction whenever they couldn’t help but follow the pull towards each other. but idk i just needed more with them ? the fmc definitely stole the show for me. i fell in love with her instantly and understood her !! tomasz i didn’t really vibe with but he’s a great character and love interest. i absolutely loved the rival families trope and the beauty and beast vibes this gave. i just wish there was something more with them 💌
tomasz is the bratva prince and lucy (red) is a trained assassin who’s mission is to take him out. tomasz is cold hearted and will literally off anyone who crosses his path. lucy is feisty and fierce. her father is the prime minister of the uk and uses her in the secret society to maintain an order. tomasz knows he needs to get rid of her but he just can’t bring himself to do it. he wants to make her his little pet but lucy doesn’t go down without a fight. she stands toe to toe with him and they push each other beyond their limits. these two are broken but somehow they see each other. they know their orders and what they must do but they’ve found a safe place within each other.
This story was so dark filled with so many twists and turns I just never knew what was coming. Lucy was a Spitfire. She was so feisty, so stubborn, so strong-willed and called it like she saw it but man she went through hell and back. Tomasz he is every inch what you would expect him to be gorgeous all powerful exuding this dark powerful energy but he is so dangerous and just as stubborn as she is. So you put them both in a room and like sparks fly. Watching them go toe to toe with each other with the chefs kiss, because pushing each other’s buttons became a game. He absolutely pushed her to her limits but by God she didn’t give up. One of the things that was so endearing is that she didn’t give in or give up. Needed someone beside him that can go toe to toe with him and not give an inch. They are like a moth to a flame for one another they’re so attracted to each other and they can’t explain it and they fight it tooth and nail. They can’t explain it they don’t understand it and watching them fight it is so amazing. Watching them finally start to understand the other one and where they’re coming from. That’s cool. But their banter between them is so great. I’m happy they got their happy ending.
°•★• DECEPTION•★•° 5-⭐️ 4-❤️🔥 An all-new hate to love, dark captive, mafia romance from author Alexandra Silva
"Tomasz Vassily is a criminal. A Bratva prince I was sent to kill."
This enemies-to- lovers story is scorching hot! It is the first book I've read by this author and it definitely will NOT be my last. I was hooked right out the gate. I could not put it down. It was dark, angry and so full of angst.
Tomasz and Lucy (AKA Red) are from two completely different worlds. He is a Bratva prince, ready to kill anyone who stands in his way. She is a trained assassin, who serves at pleasure of a secret society who's sole purpose and goal is to maintain world order. Her father is the prime minister of the UK and has trained her well. She is a fierce, formidable woman. Her mission: kill the Bratva prince.
Their hate for each other fuels them on their mission to destroy the other, however, every time they touch, they cannot ignore the gravitational pull that aches for more. Their chemistry is electric!
I look forward to reading more of her work, as I am now an instant fan!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Deception is a dark and intense mafia romance that grips you from the start. Tomasz Vassily is a ruthless Bratva prince, and the heroine is sent to eliminate him—but the hunter quickly becomes the prey. What follows is a dangerous game of power, control, and unexpected passion.
Alexandra Silva masterfully weaves a story of enemies-to-lovers tension, mind games, and undeniable chemistry. The characters are deeply flawed yet captivating, making their twisted romance all the more addictive. If you love dark, captive romances with high stakes and sizzling tension, this book is for you. Deception is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
This book wasted NO time diving straight into the fire. An enemies to lovers, deception, mind games and tension filled plot jump right off the page and suck you in immediately. Tomasz and Lucy are dynamic on the page with him being a prince to a dynasty and her the assassin trained to kill him. Lucy true to her redheaded self is an undeniable spitfire who takes the “never let them know your next move” trend to heart. The further I got the faster I was flipping pages and couldn’t read it fast enough. Absolutely won’t be my last book by Alexandra Silva!!
How have I never read Alexandra Silva before?!?! Immediately added every book to my TBR because this writing is IMMACULATE! There is NOTHING I LOVE MORE than a Mafia romance that is DARK and DEPRAVED. Add in a bad a** FMC who stands toe to toe with the morally BLACK MMC? I’m in with NO HESITATION!
Tomasz…TOMASZ 😮💨😮💨😮💨 this MAN…this man is dark…possessive…cold. The ruthless Bravata Prince who lives by a code forged in revenge. This man gets what he wants when he wants it by any means necessary.
Lucy…the daughter of the Prime Minister of the UK…but is also an assassin…trained by a secret society with a single goal in mind. Eliminate the Bravata Prince, Tomasz…and she is more than happy to oblige. The only problem is, Tomasz knows about HER and knows about her plans…and this man is ready to 💀 her. But once he sets his eyes on her, conflict sets in.
After their fateful meet at the bar, Tomasz takes Lucy captive. His initial plan is to 💀 her, but he can’t bring himself to do it. Instead he decides he wants…NEEDS…to break her. Make her his little toy…his in every way. But Lucy is not going down without a fight. She feels the attraction to him too but is unwilling to give in. She stands toe to toe with him. Never backing down and giving just as much as he does. These two are the DEFINITION of hate to love and it’s DELICIOUS to watch it unfold. They push each others buttons and limits in every way. Eventually they give in to their desires and let me tell you…the SPICE! The absolute FILTH! I was a puddle. The only place Lucy allows this man to disrespect her is in the bedroom and he does in all the best ways. I was here for ALL OF IT!
This is NOT a sweet and lovey dovey romance. These two are dark and broken in ways that only they can understand. As much as they want to get rid of each other, they NEED each other. This is about accepting their demons and darkness and seeing the same in each other and accepting it as well. They don’t want to be free of their darkness , they want to embrace it… They recognise the similarities in each other and find a safe place to be themselves with each other.
There are so many twists and turns in this story that keep you on your feet and the pages turning. You will not be able to put this book down. It’s the perfect book for all my fellow dark romance lovers out there! 🖤

Deception by @alexandrasilvaauthor This book was a gripping exploration of intensity and darkness, genuinely captivating. Tomasz Vasilik, a prince of Brava, navigates a treacherous world filled with formidable enemies. How he exacts his revenge on Lucy is nothing short of mesmerizing; he makes her confront every past transgression with a fierce intensity. Yet, Lucy is far from fragile—her resilience and strength become her armor. As their tumultuous relationship unfolds, it becomes clear that her spirit is enough to draw Thomas into the depths of emotion he never expected to feel.
Lucy is a trained assassin, part of a secret society whose purpose is to maintain order. Her father is the Prime Minister of the UK, she has been trained well. Her mission, take out Tomasz Vassily, a Bratva prince. Whether them meeting the other was inevitable, their sole mission is to destroy each other, for them they didn’t know how it was going to end.
When there two worlds collide, Lucy gives Tomasz literal hell, she is strong-willed, stubborn, sassy, fierce and feisty, and Tomasz is controlling, cold, angry, dangerous and dominant. They go toe to toe, pushing each other to their limits. They challenge each other, what they have defies logic, their families, rivals.
The build up, to giving into their emotions, was electric. There attraction was unmatched, undeniable. Yet, Lucy learns a hard lesson in trust when she is betrayed by the one person who should have had her back, Tomasz is the one that opens up her eyes, picks up the broken pieces and puts them back together. Because his broken pieces speak to her, they see each other, a formidable force all their own.
Lucy is done being a shadow, she wants to be seen, in the light, she binds herself to Tomasz through marriage, becoming his in every way, therefore effectively cutting ties with her family. For the first time, she feels free, liberated. Her and Tomasz are unmatched, they bring out the best and worst in each other, yet together they’ve found a safe place with each other and their unborn babies.
This book definitely had most of my favourite tropes, cause the spice was spicy. Those smexy scenes were primal, carnal, sinfully wicked, hot, steamy, dirty, deliciously dark and depraved. Whilst Tomasz has claimed Lucy as his pet, she knows how to give as good as she gets.
Highly recommended both the author and the book.
I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.
Deception is aptly named, the perfect title for this book. It is the ultimate enemies-to-lovers story—to the extreme.
Lucy and Tomasz are both so similar and yet not, too. They are both determined/stubborn, extremely strong-willed people—my way or the highway types but Tomasz is the epitome of everything dark. His darkness is quite lethal, and he is very powerful. Lucy is a victim of his magnetic charisma. She goes through so much and this is where I know I would have caved in, but not Lucy, she meets things head-on. Naturally, fireworks, and I mean the old Thunder Bomb ones, go off between them both. They are absolutely explosive together, whether fighting to inflict injuries on each other or the passion that ignites between them.
I totally loved the fire in Lucy, her determination challenges Tomasz every step of the way. Lucy thinks this about Tomasz… “Unhinged and rough look and feel so much better from him. It’s who he is at heart.” And she’s right! Their backgrounds are complete opposites and they both follow in the pathways set by their fathers. This is just one way in which they start to develop a closer relationship. The political world and the mafia world joining together? Never! Or do they?
There are so many twists and turns in this story that there is never a dull moment. This is a highly entertaining and thought-provoking book.
Holy Shit!! This book SERVED enemies to lovers perfectly!!... and goddamn the suspense is killing me!😩
"The girl is sin personified—lust, wrath, and pride gleam in her eyes, calling to my insatiable greed. The more I hate her, the more I want her. I crave her in ways that I’ve never hungered for a woman."Tomasz
Ouh Fuck This MAN!!!!!🥵 Hear me THE FUCK OUT!!! He's a criminal bratva prince and she's a trained killer specifically to end him!So they have been at each other's throat since they met and she won't submit which he's trying to make her to. And my fav scene of their wrangles is him leaving to get what he needs to take care of her, on his way back she ambushes him trying to throttle him but he then manages to free himself from her! And do you know what he tells her!!!.. “It doesn’t matter how many times you try, I’ll always come out on top.” mind you he's still fucking on top of her fuck!!😩....
I devoured and loved reading Deception so much, the turn and twists of events was so satisfying. And the spice fuuuucckkkk!!🥵❤️🔥
I was not prepared to love this book as much as I did. Dark and delicious doesn’t capture how good this was. This is an absolute enemies to lovers story. And true enemies. There’s nothing but hatred between Lucy and Tomasz until it’s not hate anymore. It’s hard to like Tomasz at first but insight into his thought process and his feelings makes it easier to hate/love him. Lucy is one strong woman. The way she tackles her situation and never truly gives up is amazing. She doesn’t let fear rule her actions even though it would be easy to given the situations she’s put in. And let’s not forget the spice! Oh the spice is spicing! Definitely hot between these two and their chemistry is explosive. The darkness of the story combined with the underlying emotions from Lucy and Tomasz gives this book a balance that you don’t expect from a dark romance. In the end this story blew me away. Loved it! And absolutely will recommend.
Tomasz is powerful, lethal, and a bratva prince, that Lucy, who is feisty, stubborn, and strong willed, is sent to kill. These two know how to push each other’s buttons, but what happens when the killer becomes the captive, and the target becomes to captor? This is a well written action packed story, with mind games, determination, enemies / lovers, rival families, opposites attract, forced proximity, challenges, vengeance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, unpredictable, thought provoking, and captivating, dark romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
The equal parts hot-headedness, violence, banter and dark s3xy push pull attraction, was a real treat! This is a true enemies to lovers tale.
Definitely a capable and kick-a$s heroine. It's delicious seeing how their exchanges evolve over the captivity time period. The tables get flipped and they begin to see each other in new, different and exciting ways. A sure fire read for anyone wanting some twists, dark romance and gritty mafia world drama!
This book was everything. I was hooked from the moment I began reading. There were times when it was so dark, dealing with the mafia and the trouble that comes with that. Tomasz is someone you truly hate. He keeps playing games with Lucy and it really messes with her. The ending was truly amazing. I wasn't sure how it was all going to come together but I actually hope we get more from these two!
I’ve been waiting for this book for a minute but it was so worth it. The author delivered and exceeded my expectations. I loved seeing this couples dark and twisted journey to love. If you know you know… their kind of love will live forever through this book.
I love books based on fairytales. This book was inspired by Beauty and The Beast and The Frog Prince. It is an enemies to lovers mafia romance. Lucy is a trained assassin. She is sent to k!ll Bratva Prince, Tomasz. Instead she becomes the captive. These two truly hate each other. Tomasz is a very powerful criminal. When Tomasz takes Lucy his goal is to end her, but changes his mind. He is attracted to her and wants to toy with her. Even though she feels the strong attraction to him too, she doesn't want to give into it and fights tooth and nail. Tomasz is a very morally corrupt man who is also very possessive of Lucy and enjoys playing his mind games with her. Lucy is such a strong woman! These two have explosive chemistry and this is how enemies to lovers should be done.
"You chose me," I say, my voice rough with relief and lust as her body presses to mine. (Pg. 215).

ONE OF THE BEST DARK ROMANCES I HAVE EVER READ.
Reading this book was honestly life-changing, and even though I just finished it, I want to reread it over and over again. I honestly can't get over this book, the plot, the couple, the betrayal. I have not shut up about Tomasz and Lucy, I'm pushing it on all of my reader friends.
I genuinely don't understand how this is my first time reading a book by Alexandra Silva. I really do feel like "Deception" should be up there with books like The Ritual, HA, Devils Night Series, etc. I think that if you are a dark romance reader, then you NEED to read this because I couldn't put it down.
Tomasz is a bad man, there's no argument there...that being said, THE THINGS THIS MAN COULD GET AWAY WITH ARE LITERALLY CRIMINAL. He is possessive, manipulative, and obsessed, as he should be honestly. He had me from the moment he sat down next to her at the bar, and every time that he messed up, and then when he would overthink his previous actions towards her as if he's not literally the Bratva Prince. When he tested Lucy at the bridal shop...I WAS IN TEARSSSS. I love him with all my heart forever.
Now we need to talk about Lucy, she is a bada** and I love how even when she was starting to acknowledge her feelings for Tomasz, she never once allowed him to disrespect her (outside of the bedroom, of course).
I could talk about this book for hours, but I don't want to spoil anything because I really want others to read it and love it as much as I did! I also really appreciate that although he was tough with everyone else, he could be gentle with her when it was absolutely needed.
Thank you to Literally Yours PR and Alexandra Silva for allowing me to be a part of this release, and I can't wait for the next one!! 🖤
-Rating: 3.5 ⭐ -Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 -Tension: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 "If I pray at your feet for eternity, if I worship at your altar for a lifetime... it will never be enough"
Overview: I really enjoyed this book and was exactly what i needed, i have read my fair share of Mafia books and they are all similar. It was refreshing to get a darker take on the trope, along with them actually being ENEMIES. 👀🔥 Lucy is a badass FMC and was sent to kill the Bratva Prince Tomaz, she has trained to be a killer her whole life and has been prepared for this mission. Tomaz however is aware of the family Lucy comes from, and as revenge he takes Lucy and holds her captive. Tomaz wants nothing more than to break Lucy, he needs control and wants to kill her however he is unable to do so. He wants to fully break Lucy so she will submit and be his pet and call him master, Lucy is a strong and stubborn badass who will fight to the end of her death.
This book went through trauma, manipulation, betrayal and shows how love, though messy and imperfect, can be a path to healing. Both of these characters needed each other, they both needed control and they both would not give up on what they wanted. If you are looking for a perfect, fluffy, loving story then you will not find this here... this book is about falling in love with their demons and accepting the darkness. They want each other but also want nothing more than to kill each other, feelings progress and trust is earned. However the word love is not enough for these characters, and their feelings go beyond that.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it, was it the best thing ever written? No but it was a good time and i enjoyed the twists and seeing the story unfold. I think Lucy is one of the baddest FMC's i have read about yet, and i loved her!! 🙌 I definitely could of read 100 more pages of this book, i did feel like the ending was a bit rushed so if it was a bit longer could have flowed better.
Tropes: ✨Mafia Dark Romance ✨Morally Grey ✨Enemies to lovers ✨Possessive MMC ✨Master & Pet ✨Captive
Deception is a dark mafia romance that gives all the enemies to lovers vibes! The beginning of the book hooked me with its dark introduction… the author did not waste any time showing us how sinful Tomasz truly was! Equally, Lucy aka “Red” held her own for a large portion of the book. It was refreshing to not have her fall head over heels in love with him the first instance available— most main female characters don’t put up as much of a fight as Red did. While that did lend itself beautifully to the plot of the story, it left little time for all the spice I yearned for with them. Don’t get me wrong, it has spicy scenes— I just wanted more and felt that too many things were needing to be resolved at the same time spice was introduced. Moreso, I found the character development of Red intriguing and well thought out, while Tomasz somewhat fell flat for me unfortunately. I wasn’t invested in him as a MMC and honestly was hoping for some major plot twists at the end.
Overall, it hooked my attention from the start and I loved reading Red’s journey. I wish I could’ve fallen in love with Tomasz though!
The plot to this story is based on Tomasz who is the Mafia Prince and Lucy who is the daughter of the Prime Minister. There worlds collide when Lucy is sent to get rid of the Mafia Prince by the secret society that she has been trained by.
This is where things take twists and turns because along with their passion to get rid of each other also comes a passion for each other and one that neither can deny!
As a lover of this authors work it was great to have another story by her and one that has encapsulated all that’s astounding about her writing. You’ll be on the edge of your seat from the get go!.
Ok what on earth did I just read? And I mean that in the very best way. So this is the prequel to one of my most loved series, starring one of my most detested characters. My opinion of her hasn't changed because I'm fiercely loyal, BUT I will admit it was nice seeing another side of her. No matter my opinion of her, I was still glued to this story from the first page till the last, and I definitely have a lot of questions, especially with how the Virtues & Lies series ended. I'm definitely feeling like another re read asap. Definitely a must read and since it's a prequel, nothing will be ruined if you're new to this author. Might be better for you since I definitely went into this with preconceptions.
It was truly a dark romance with a ton of twists and turns. I love a good Mafia romance, especially one that I think I know what is coming, but it turns out I don’t.
Alexandra named the book the right title when she named it Deception because that is exactly what this book is!
It was okay, I didn't like the heroine, and everything happened so fast lol.
Tried to read the series but am unsure if the author will change the plot? Because Vanya is Tomasz's sister, and in the other books, she was her lover LMAO. And Tomasz tried to rape the heroine in the second book but he was already with Lucy lmaoo and Lucy disappear for 7 years omg what even the math isn't mathing, this is so messy af.
