June 4, 2023DNF at 50%. First, the boom is called Seducing the Spy on Amazon im case this sparks your interest but you can't seem to find it.
I actually enjoyed this story pretty well in the beginning Katya is a stripper with a secret and she gives a private dance to a guy who turns out to be a spy. They hit it off quick but then Katya gets threatened by her boss and this is were I struggled. It felt like information was being fed to us with no explanation. Like she looked at a picture of a child and was like oh he's 5 years old and loves this and that but how would you know that about someone else's child unprompted? There were quite a few moments like that as well as the fact that the plot just dropped off in terms of build up and the steamy scenes were just okay. I don't have any interest to see how it ends at this time.

Interesting Story That Leaves Room For More
This book is an interesting, easy read - I enjoyed the combination of spy & romance themes (it reads like suspense x mystery x action x romance), especially the internal tug-of-war between selfish and selfless desires.
Also, the circumstances of the main characters are quite tragic. The story unfolds through their perspectives, so you get an inside look as to what they’re thinking, what they’re wanting, and what they’re choosing to do. I enjoyed the internal debates, the characters’ genuine concern for each other (if they reveal their secrets or get too involved), and their attempts to fight their own desires. That being said, I did not expect things to unfold the way that the did. I also didn’t expect the intensity.
Just a heads up for any parents, this book can get quite graphic and “spicy,” especially once you pass the halfway mark, so be warned (not for kids/teens).
If that’s what you’re looking for though (+ some mystery & action), then you’ll likely enjoy this book.

I was hooked from the first line. The tension, the secrets, and that forbidden kiss? I couldn't put it down. This story perfectly blends romance with high stakes, and I was rooting for the main character the whole way. Jacob is the kind of hero you don’t see coming but once he's there, you can't forget him. If you're into love stories with grit and heart, this one's for you.
