So with some recent investigating I been doing (with inspiration from Twitter), I found that this author has exact copies of all her M/M books in F/F as H.L Logan . When I say exact I mean “exact”. Just pronoun changes and of course the sex scenes and names but everything else remains the same.

I know how hard M/M authors work and as someone who has been in this community for 10yrs now I’m now seeing it thrive. But, I will not stand by while others come in thinking they can throw a little butt sexx into something and call it m/m or even f/f. Sexuality is not interchangeable, the men/women/non-binary who identify in the rainbow are not interchangeable. Their stories are unique and you can’t just slap anyone’s narrative to it. So is the books these authors write; they mean something, they mean something to me.

You can find the exact copy of this book here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Ive already gone through a few and they’ve all just been copies. It’s a sad freaking shame!!

~TRYING TO FORGET~

I’m having a hard time with how I feel about this one. On one hand I really liked it and got through it quite quickly, and on the other hand; what in all the crack in the world. This was totally crazy, weird, and a touch juvenile. While the premise sounds like it could make for an interesting read, the delivery kind of fell short.

Cuke just took a basketball to the head and now he’s in the hospital with no recollection of the past three years. Seems like the ball has left more than a little bump on the head, seemed it also shaked his brain up. In a hospital room with no one he recognizes, and the good looking guy holding his hand seems to be very familiar with him so there can only be one explanation. That guy is his boyfriend (because logic).

What ensues is ridiculous game of charades between Cuke and Bouj. Cuke can’t explain the person his “boyfriend” is trying to tell him he’s been for the past 3yrs, nothing about anything makes any sense about the person he’s become and the one he remembers. He can’t quite figure out why his relationship with Bouj is so awkward and he’s wanting to got to the sexy bits already. Seems he’s got his head in the clouds and the boyfriend might actually just be a best-friend.

Alright, so as I said the book had potential but it really turned out to be ok and lack lustre. The dialogue is juvenile, it lost most of it charm and became all cliché and I was not impressed. Surprisingly I was never bored reading it, and was surprised by how quickly I got through the story. I’ll give it that, I could not look away.

Cuke and Bouj together didn’t quite work for me and then the insta-love element really threw me from their characters. I felt as if they were playing dress up with their lives and I couldn’t buy it. Their relationship started off as a lie, and just remained a lie to me. I wasn’t invested!

Overall, I kinda liked it. The plot was over the top, it wasn’t executed quite well, and that cover has nothing to with anything. Remember When didn’t quite deliver but in all honesty I didn’t hate it. I’m willing to see what else the author has to offer.

Cuck and Bouj are roommates and best friend. When they were playing basketball, one of the guys throws a ball too hard and it getting Cuck in the face. When Cuck wakes up he doesn’t know his friends. After they got him to the hospital, the doctor says he’s experiencing retrograde amnesia. He can't remember anything from the past three years. He’s so confused and overwhelmed. The person he was three years ago was so different with the person his friends describe. It’s like they are two separate persons. He even thinks Bouj is his boyfriend (because he was so concerned for him and he was so touchy-feely with him and they lived with each other) and Bouj going along with it doesn’t help the situation!

The story started off really good but then I got bored. The lack of depth and emotion eventually got to me. I thought of this story as an emotional one but it wasn’t, it wasn’t even funny. When Cuck found out that Bouj lied to him, he didn’t even get angry and instead they declare their love to each other! I even couldn't feel their love! Told in dual POV, 1st person. It’s a stand-alone novel. Hope you enjoy it more than me!

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Not much to write home about*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

Jacob ‘Jake’ ‘Cuke’ Harrison (21) wakes up at the hospital with amnesia; he has lost three and a half - the last thing he remember is prom night. Oh and he believed he's out of the closet and that Bryan ‘Bouj’ Dawson (21?), his roommate, is his boyfriend. Bouj has known Cuke since the winter of freshman year, yet he has never looked at him as more than a buddy, but Cuke's amnesia didn't just take away memories, it made Bouj realized that the man right in front of him is the right man for him. Overall, it was cute, fast forward yet had little depth. I didn't feel all that much for the characters, nor the story. I couldn't feel the connection that the characters was supposed to have. It was just a read that I'll probably forget with time.

Other characters:
Stewie, a friend of the guys.
↦ Cuke's parents; they sucked. Really. I just couldn't like them. Nor could I like Cuke's brother, Maxim.
“All I remember is a group of us formed. Me, you, Stewie—that’s the guy who was at the hospital—and a few more. We always played ball together. Still do.”
“And… you and me…?”
“We ended up moving in together.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (New Adult) Contemporary Romance (M/M).
Series: - Standalone.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Bryan ‘Bouj’ Dawson.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Sure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Unsure.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably not.
Rating - 2.5 stars.

The positive about this book is that it's a very light read. The MCs had believable chemistry.
Negative is that Bibi is a incredibly immature character. To make her amnesiac roommate Cara happy she lies to her that they are a couple. Next she tells Cara that she is out to everyone leading poor Cara to actually out herself to her family without knowing. And Cara's reaction to that is no biggie. What nonsense is that? I found the second half awful and all the characters very conceited.

3.9 stars. I liked this way more than I expected, the cover looks like one of those generic stock-like images with a bearly readable font on it so my expectations were low. I had also given a 1-star review for another book from this author though I didn't know that before I started this one.

It's basically lesbian chick lit. Yet it handled amnesia quite well. Certainly better than any other lesfic book I've read. The little mystery was also unpredictable so bonus points for that. The rating is lowered mainly due to the often crass language and also because of it all being unrealistic and a bit cheezy. I like my books grounded more in reality but despite that I enjoyed this read a lot.

I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

It kind of weird after i read a few chapters of this book and it reminded me of the manga that i had read about the girlfriend that also lost her memory but quite so cheerful and so hype up when she knows that she has a hot girlfriend. Beside that, the story is completely different.

It was an interesting story plot where Cara was jogging straight into the tree and got amnesia. Oh wait! Than she stumble and fell and hit her head with the pavement. But still though, is that possible? I mean if the head hit the curb maybe it has more impact than the pavement. But well everything is possible. So i dont know. Now this also reminded of when i was a kid, i was running so fast and my foot was caught on a small rock and stumble forward by trying not to hit the ground, i almost hit my head with a stone wall instead. 😱

Sorry i got side track again.

So the book, it is kind of a cute and adorable romance to me. a quick read, even though it still took me like 6 hours to finished the book. Cara got amnesia and lost 3 years of her memory and assumed Bibi is her girlfriend. Bibi didnt deny it either. First kiss lead to more kisses and than things happened and finally they officially in relationship. Cara also has different personality within the 3 years she was in college and didnt know why she changed. It also involved Cara’s past before she leave her family to college as well. (I kind of predicted what happened and got half of it right hehe)

I wouldnt say it is drama free, from 1 to 10 i would say 2 or 3 out of 10. Plus i always has a weak spot for amnesia and cute couple, It is enough for me to enjoyed this book :) i also like the awkward things that Cara did without realised the other parties didnt know about it.

I enjoyed the book. It is a fun read to me.

I really enjoyed this cute story of 2 roommates falling in love. When Jake/Cuke wakes up from a bad fall, he has no memories of the last 3.5 years and thinks his cute friend is his boyfriend. At first Bouj is unaware of this misconception, but once he figures it out, he goes along thinking he’s helping. He never expects real feelings to develop for his best friend.

I loved Bouj, he clearly loved Jake before he realized how deep his feelings ran. He had his best interests at heart, and supported him when no one else did, even if his methods were a bit unconventional. Other than a typical straight boy sexual identity crisis, he accepted his attraction to Cuke pretty easily.

Edit: Harper Logan is a scammer. This book is also published as a f/f romance “Remember You” by H. L Logan. In fact every book has been double published, with names changed and sex scenes rewritten to match pairing.

With Remember When the author has written a cute, romantic story about Cuke and Bouj finding love with each other after Cuke loses the memory of the last three years of his life.

The pace was never boring and the story much deeper than it seems at first glance, as Cuke struggles deeply with his memory loss and his identity and there are some dark family secrets in his past.

Bouj and Cuke were really cute together, Bouj is the best boyfriend ever! The only thing I found a little weird was that there was minimal angst concerning Bouj's sexuality and the fact that he suddenly liked a guy. But that was also kind of refreshing. I just wished for a little more angst overall, also regarding the secret that is revealed about Cuke's family.

All in all, Remember When was a cute, yet surprisingly deep, feel good story.

I totally didn't read reviews before reading or buying this. I wish I had.

The writing felt very masculine to me, the way the characters would talk to eachother, and their foreplay (or lack thereof) seemed very unlesbian and non feminine, but I shrugged it off, thinking I was being judgemental of people who were different. But now I see the other reviews saying this book was originally a gay male book and they just changed the genders and genitals around. That makes so much sense.

Clearly the swapping of genders didn't work and the nuances of a lesbian relationship was lost.

I did like the storyline overall, but those romantic idiosyncrasies that are purely feminine, and what appeals to me as a lesbian interested in women loving women content, were clearly very sorely lacking.

I liked the premise, and the book was good, but on the average, it felt rushed and slow at the same time, I don’t know how to describe it. I wish you could use percentages instead of stars, it’s maybe a 70 out of a 100

After glancing quickly at the other reviews, this went from a two-star (eh, ok for passing the time) to one-star garbage. So it looks as though there are two different versions of this same book--one that is m/m and the other f/f. I'm assuming then that the author did a convenient "find/replace" and shot out the exact same book twice to capitalize on two different markets.
Here's the deal, writing is sacred. The author creates two characters and embodies each for anywhere from 150-300 or so pages, taking them through their journey and out the other side where they're changed forever. We as the reader get to experience that story and also live as those characters. Each character and their dialogue should be unique; you should only be able to "hear" it out of that particular character's mouth. The actions or inactions taken by those characters over the course of the story should also make sense as each develops from where you found them in the beginning to where you leave them at "The End". An author needs to respect their characters as well as the reader. Instead, this one of making a mockery of the entire experience for what, a few more dollars on Amazon? It's shameful.

Amnesia is a tricky thing and Cuke's situation is made more complicated by the warmth in his roommate's stare, the hand-holding and touching, and the surprise that during the three years he can't seem to remember he came out, has a hot boyfriend, and is somehow a completely different person.

Bouj is confused by the guy who he's shared his house and friendship with. They've been best friends and roommates for years and for some reason the guy he knew isn't the guy he knows. And his concern for him is morphing into something more, something deeper. It wouldn't hurt to pretend they're a couple, at least until he gets his memory back, right?

Watching their fumbling and Bouj's surprising acceptance of their new dynamic is both unrealistic and wonderful. I love how deep they get and how Bouj's new reality is the right one. They're sweet, cute, and hot together.

I do find, however, that there's a certain lack of depth to the story. Not that they're not dealing with deep feelings or situations and that there aren't complications at almost every turn, it's just that there's something that's missing to really make the story sink deep and resonate with me.

The story takes a far more dramatic turn than I was expecting but if we're looking for a reason behind Cuke's personality flip there's not a lot that could top his situation. I'm glad that there's was no instant patch and that Cuke's family situation ended on a positive, healing note rather than a completely resolved one because that would be unrealistic in real life. I also really like the mechanic stop where we see Adrian and Chandler. I haven't read their story but even just this little moment makes me want to read both Long Haul and Long Shot.

The love and devotion between Bouj and Cuke is sweet, tender, and passionate. While they begin tentatively and a bit immature because of their age, their decision to remain honest, upfront, and together was heartwarming. A good story with a couple unexpected twists and turns for a college-age romance between an amnesiac and a first-time-gay guy.

This was an interesting read. The main characters are quite likable and I easily became invested in their happiness.

Pros:

* The friendship between Cuke and Bouj was lovely and I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve.
* I thought the last few chapters were great! There was angst, but it was balanced with sweet moments.
* A character that is introduced late in the story was probably my favorite part of the entire book.

Cons:

* The nicknames Cuke and Bouj were distracting and not my cup of tea. Their given names of Jake and Bryan, respectively, were perfectly acceptable and I wish they would have been used more rather than the unconventional nicknames.
* I'm not a fan of the "dude bro" mentality of many of the characters. To be fair, this is a story about college guys who love to party and live it up, but it became exhausting after a while.
* The parents. Talk about exhausting!

All in all, this is a pleasant story that should hold your attention. My cons are more about personal tastes, but you may want to take those things into account prior to reading.

I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily provided my honest review.

Cuke and Bouj. Friends, roommates, and ridiculous nicknames (lol). Cuke gets hit in the head with a basketball and has no memory of the last 3 and a half years. Bouj is his roommate that he is very close to. When Cuke wakes up and doesn't remember anything, he also forgets that he has never come out of the closet. He thinks that Bouj is his boyfriend, and Bouj initially agrees to go along with it just to assist with the process. Along the way, however, Bouj starts to develop feelings for Cuke. I loved how there was some brief angst as they dealt with the memory loss and (short lived) secret about not being boyfriends before the accident. I really liked how Bouj was there for Cuke, and they were really strong together. I really enjoyed this!

What an interesting twist on the traditional amnesia story. Usually, the amnesiac doesn't remember their SO, so the SO pretends to be a friend. In this one though, the amnesiac mistakes his roommate as being his boyfriend. Very refreshing.

The whole gay-for-you aspect was dealt with well - a little easily, but it doesn't always have to be super angsty.

As for the family drama.. meh.. not the best, and even though Cuke says he's bothered by it, I had a hard time feeling or connecting to it.

Both MCs read as younger than seniors in college. Since Cuke has lost 3 years, it makes sense, but I would have liked for it to just be him.

A little too easy, a little to pretty, but a good story.

I loved Remember When by Harper Logan. The characters were intriguing and so was the storyline. I couldn't put the book down, and I had to find out why Cuke was so much different after waking up with amnesia after hitting his head during a basketball game. I wasn't disappointed, and I loved his best friend and roommate Bouj and how he will do anything for his friend Cuke even pretend to be gay and his boyfriend. Although, is Bouj as straight as he thinks he is? I recommend that you read it and find out for yourself. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This book was a greta way to stay warm during the insanely low temperatures we had in Boston. I read it in one day, mostly because I really liked Cuke and Bouj, and I wanted them to get their HEA!

I love a good amnesia story, but what I particularly liked about this one is that it didn't play on the old lies or misunderstandings. I never lost my love for Bouj, and I loved how sweet and open he was as he started to learn more things about himself and Cuke! This was the best of amnesia +GFY or (OFY!) and I loved every minute of it.

There was a subplot that I didn't connect with as much, partly because it's not something I usually like in books, but I don't want to give it away. I don't think it was necessary to the story, and it didn't detract from my love of the characters at all.

I thought this had some potential in the beginning but right when the characters opened their mouths... they ruined it. It was super insta-love and that's not my cuppa mocha frappe. I love the organic-ness of natural relationships. It was amusing in some instances but I feel like I was cringing more than laughing or smiling.

Sorry (not sorry), I'm going to veto and just pass on this one!!

I have to say ... the names of these MCs are a massive turnoff :-/!! Seriously ... Cuke and Bouj?!!? Did the world run out of every other name on the planet?!!? Bouj isn't so bad but I can't help but associate it with the word "Boujie [someone who acts pretentiously and believes himself to be superior to others]", which is NOT a compliment! And Cuke makes me think of "kook", an even more derogatory way of calling someone crazy, and if that's not bad enough, the spelling makes me rhyme it with "puke'! I mean COME ON!!!

How can I take this book seriously when the characters' names make me cringe and smirk BIG time :-/! Hey, I'm not trying to be a name snob or anything, but authors who try to outdo themselves (or others) by naming their characters with ridiculously out there names irritates my reading palate and makes my eyeballs roll like nobody's business. I can't lie, this is a turnoff :-/!!
I might even just pass on this because I'm already reluctant to take this seriously. Harsh? Maybe. Honest? Definitely. I just can't take it seriously and it's a shame because the blurb is relatively intriguing, though this author's books have been a MASSIVE miss for me so far!! It’s like watching a train wreck though and as horrible as I think this writer’s work IS, it’s a morbid intrigue to find at least ONE book that works that has kept me trying!! I’ve decided I am DONE though; ABSOLUTELY!!

This is nothing against authors getting creative with names in general though, at all!! It's just, there's a lot of power in a name, and to further emphasize what I've said above, I'll tell you that there are even a few authors whose books I can't read because their pseudonyms sound like 90s username handles!! Just, no!!

Want to be taken seriously? Be serious!!

Where THIS author is concerned, blech, I am DONE!!

OMG My heart went out Jake
Cuke AKA Jake was knocked out whist playing a game of basketball with his mates. When he comes round he has lost 3 and a half years of his life. And things have really changed. His last memory was going to the prom. He doesn't remember the years he has spent at college of his new friends.
When he wakes in the hospital he looks into the eyes of a very good looking man and he is holding his hand. and he seems to be really cut up that he has been hurt. Jake thinks he must be his boyfriend/
As Cuke moves back to his flat that he shares with Bouj it quickly becomes obvious that Cuke has changed a lot. He doesn't recognise the man that Bouj tells him he was. Drinking and Basketball doesn't sound like the man he used to be. And Bouj isn't acting like his boyfriend at all. So Cuke has a talk with him.
Bouj is a little uneasy about the changes in his friend. He is very touchy feely and although its never bothered him before it is now giving him weird thoughts. When Cuke admits he is gay and thinks he is in a relationship with him he is thrown for six and quickly gets out of the flat and goes and sees a friend he can trust. He explains what has happened and his thinks that Bouj should pretend as Cuke had been through enough. Bouj decides to pretend but it isn't look before he finds he is growing feeling for Cuke and kissing him makes him feel alive but what will happen when Cuke finds out the truth???
This is a great read. I was worried that it was going to drag at the begin but Harper got it right!!!! My heart really went out to Cuke/Jake it was so sad to see him going through the confusing and complicated times with his friends and family. I didnt like his family but his friends really made up for them. This is a magical read and I could put this book down and read it well into the night. Just a great read. I found their relationship to be so cute and addictive. I look forward to read more from Harper Logan

I absolutely loved this book!! I just couldn't put it down! In fact, I think I'd better go and re-read it as soon as I've finished this review :-)

This is a perfectly wonderful friends to lovers romance, with a really well done touch of gay/bi for you thrown in. There's just the right amount of angst, misunderstandings and sexual tension on the road to bliss and a HEA.

Memory loss is one of my all-time favourite tropes, it brings such tantalising possibilities to a story, and it was handled beautifully in this book!

Cuke suffers from amnesia after making a nasty fall during a basketball game. When he wakes up in the hospital he's lost the memories of the last three years of his life, and he mistakenly believes that Bouj, his "straight" roommate, and long-time crush, is his boyfriend. At first Bouj doesn't realise this, and when he does... he doesn't immediately correct his friend, out of fear that the truth will upset Cuke and jeopardize his recovery.

While taking care of his friend, Bouj starts to question his feelings towards his "mate" and their friendship blossoms into something more.

I love that eventually Bouj does come clean to Cuke about the nature of their "relationship", or lack thereof, before Cuke's accident, and that this didn't come out in any other way leading to unnecessary drama or a set-back in their relationship.

Cuke has some issues in his past that he has to work through, family drama, and Bouj is there for him throughout it all. Earning himself super boyfriend status!

The secondary characters, both friends and family, are well-rounded and interesting in their own right. The dialogue is written very fluently and natural, the pacing of the story is spot-on. In short, a great read!

This is the first time I've read anything by this author, and I was blown away!

I sooo recommend this book!
