Flagged on the Fourth

OVER-THE-TOP INSTA-LOVE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN . . . FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

So here I am, staring up at an empty flagpole, wondering how I'm gonna get this freshly laundered flag up there . . .

Then out of nowhere comes a tattooed knight in red-white-and-blue armor!

Of course, he's got a kid with him, and this has drama written all over it.

But fate seems to have other ideas for my All-American love story . . .

And all I can do is hope our story ends with fireworks and not an all-out bonfire . . .

Sweetness and darkness rolled into one. No cheating. No cliffhangers. Guaranteed HEA.
Over-the-top with drama, madness, and steam because that's what I love about my America.
This is insta-love, Annabelle Winters style.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Winters has a great way of getting inside her character's minds and bringing it to the reader.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The men are usually a bit rough around the edges but lovable all the same

This was quite the story. Keg is a firefighter who is on leave after an injury on the job. He meets Kari under a flagpole. Both trying to put a flag on it, for the fourth of July celebrations. When Keg's sister asks for Kari's help in watching her son it seems weird to her but she is willing to get near Keg.

When Keg's sister Betty gets kidnapped by her ex Keg is furious. He is given a ransom demand and scrambles to figure out how to pay it to get his sister back. While the chase is on to get her back Keg and Kari manage to have sex in the crowds of the 4th of July parade (insert eye roll) without anyone noticing.

While making the drop they aren't willing to let him get away with it, and join forces to take him down. Aside from the 24 hour I love you's this was entertaining even if pretty unbelievable.

As the Fourth of July approaches, Kari notices an empty flag pole in a run-down park, so she decides to put her own flag there for the holiday. Keg, a firefighter, is on short-term disability due to a knee injury; but he has the same idea she does and takes his nephew, Bud, to the park to see what they can do about that situation. Each of them are attracted to the other. But the broken flag pole presents them with a problem, but not for long as Keg tells Bud to climb the pole! They laugh when Kari yells at Keg for suggesting such a potentially dangerous stunt and for letting his “son” curse as he had. Bud’s mom walks up about then and lets Bud climb since his firefighter uncle is there to keep him safe. But Betty needs to get to work, so Keg still has to keep Bud with him and doesn’t manage to get Kari’s phone number.

On the Fourth of July, they meet again and it’s obvious they are feeling their own explosive chemistry! But Betty disappears and Keg has to rescue her. Why does love never run smoothly?

This is such a funny, delightful story. Keg’s personality is so whimsical and laid back that the reader can’t help but adore him. The banter and dialog with Kari and Bud kept me chuckling uncontrollably. There’s a parade you are not going to want to miss. And we need to find out what happened to Better and if Keg can find and rescue her! So grab your copy and catch up on the hijinks of this awesome story line. And maybe we will also find out if Keg and Kari get a HEA after the dust settles!

Cleverly written insta-lust to love romance in the alphabet theme with a new series of lovers
I have loved these short steamy romps with the alphabet. Some parts are laugh-out-loud funny! Now introducing the letter K. Kari cannot stand seeing a flagpole without an American flag flying especially on the July 4th holiday! (She has other reasons, wink, wink.) She has washed and prepared to put up her own flag when she realizes that the pole is broken. Along comes Keg with a little boy in tow and his own flag to place on the pole. Thus, begins an exciting page-turner of lust (their imaginations steam up the pages), intrigue ending with a very satisfying HEA for a sweet couple.
As always, this series is a lot more than just the romance between our H and h. There is a sister who has a sketchy past with her no-count former husband and a past that Kari wants to hide. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended for readers who enjoy a short “insta” romance with intrigue.

It's the Fourth of July and a park has a flagpole without a flag. Kari decides to see if she can lend her flag for the day. Problem? There is no way to get the flag up the pole, Keg happens by with his nephew and a flag with the same idea. Serendipitous?
I am a big fan of Ms. Annabelle Winters. Her stories are fun instalove tales with a kick of drama and plenty of heat. I love the dual point of view, even as I yell at the book when the characters don't do as I want.
No matter the genre, be it paranormal (dragons) or contemporary, Ms. Winters finds a way to bring in the heat and present ways for her characters to hit little/big hiccups on their way to true love. Another trademark that I have noticed is multiples and the same letter names. You have to read the book to know what I mean.
Take a load off and get ready to have some fun, Annabelle Winters style.

Flagged on the Fourth is a short steamy quirky book about two partriotic people that meet while putting up a flag in the local park on the Fourth of July.  Kari drives by the park and notices the flag pole is bare.  She goes home and get her flag and takes it back to the park.  Upon finding the pully on the pole is broken she looks around for someone to help her get the flag up.  Along comes Keg and his nephew.  Kari is an outspoken funny woman and Keg is a hunky firefighter.  Can these two find love on the Fourth of July?

This book is witty and fun.  It has love, action, and steamy scenes.  There is a scene at the parade that I just can't wrap my head around.  It's a little over the top but overall a good read.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book via Booksprout. Even though it was somewhat reckless insta-love, I liked this story in and of itself. Kari is a patriotic plus-sized woman who gets the idea to put a flag on a lonely flagpole. After she goes to the trouble of getting one cleaned, she gets back to the flagpole only to discover the joist is broken. This is how she meets Keg, who real name we never actually learn in the story. Somehow, they know that they are meant for each other. Despite several crazy circumstances within the story, it’s really proven to be true. This story was kinds sexy but there were some small plot holes or areas that it could have been a bit smoother. I’d recommend the story, though. The one thing I thought was the funniest part was the fact that despite the way Keg is described, Kari is the badder of the two. You’ll see. . .

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Kari and Keg. Keg is a firefighter who was injured and is now on leave. When Kari noticed the flag in the local park needed to be replaced, she was surprised to see Keg there with his nephew also replacing the flag. Keg saw Kari and instantly wanted to be with her, but he was babysitting his nephew and knew he couldn't act on things right away. When Keg's sister asked Kari fi she would help babysit with Keg, Kari agreed and Keg knew he had a chance to get to know Kari. When Keg's sister disappeared, Kari helped Keg find her and keep his nephew safe. I liked this instant love story. I liked Keg and thought he was a good guy who only wanted to protect his family and be with Kari. I loved the connection between Keg and Kari, they were meant to be together. Good one.

I received a free copy of the steamy novella Flagged on the Fourth: Curvy For the Holidays book 5 by Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely.
A steamy attraction at first sight romance and a kidnapping that just so happen to fall on the Fourth of July in Middle America and is written with the complexity, unfiltered speech and twists we know and love from Annabelle Winters.
As the Fourth of July approaches and patriotic Kari decides to hang her American flag in a local neglected park, she meets temporarily disabled fireman Keg and his nephew Bud who have the same idea.
18+ recommended for steam level and language.

I love the storyline and the twists and turns. This story can only be described as short, sweet, fun, delightful and terrific. Kari decides to put her flag on a flagpole in a run down park. Keg, a firefighter has the same idea and takes his nephew to the park to help. They are instantly attracted. Now they have to decide to figure out how to get the flag on the pole. In all the excitement Keg doesn't get Kari's phone number. I loved the character of Keg as nothing really seems to phase him. Kari and Bud are hilarious and had a lot of fun to the story. A great story to read then you have about one hour to spare. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Flagged on the Fourth is a fight for love and family. Keg loves his sister and nephew and carries his sister's struggles on his shoulders. Kari is new in town, wanting to start new. Both Keg and Kari have a love for their country, the meet when they when they both had the same idea of raising a flag on the Fourth of July. When something happens to Keg's sister, Kari is right there with him doing whatever she need to help.

This story has twist and turns that will have you gasping and on the edge of the seat, and Keg and Kari's heated moments are hotter than a summer day in July.

Another great tale from Annabelle Winters.

This was a fun read. Two all american people show up to flag a pole...love it. Karli and Keg are both strong willed and their romance was explosive just like the fireworks. Hilarious banter and very steamy sex scenes...parade sex...classic! Karli was the best...she was willing to ride or die for her man and I enjoyed her antics. Keg was the typical alpha male...he found his female and he was determined to get his curvy beautiful female. Their story was full laughter, danger, steam and of course love. I really enjoyed it!

Wow!
This may be a novella, but it’s packed with excitement, danger, intrigue, and of course love. Kari and Keg meet when she’s at the park trying to figure out how she’s going to get her flag hoisted. It’s imperative since it’s the Fourth of July. When they learn that they are both single things are explosive. However, there is a major glitch when his sister Betty disappears, and he is forced to pay ransom to get her back. There’s a lot going on; however, the story flows and everything has its place. Another super read by Ms. Winters!

Their fireworks will be setting the night sky ablazing not only on the Fourth of July

Flagged on the Fourth is the fifth book in the Curvy for the Holidays series. I had this book loaded up for a while and finally got to reading it....and now I am kicking myself that I did not read it earlier. I really loved this story of Kari and Keg. This is a wonderfully written, sweet, funny, low drama, sexy and enjoyable story. There is a lot of great witty banter between Kari and Keg which just amps up the sizzling chemistry that sparks between them. Then add in the Fourth of July and there are fireworks sparking off all over the place.

Kari is standing at the foot of an empty flagpole with her american flag wondering how on earth she's going to hoist it up without a working winch.

In steps Keg, who is also a patriot & who had passed the flagpole earlier & returned home to get his spare.

When he sees Kari, he is frozen to the spot. She is a stunning curvy woman who he knows he just has to have!

What happens next is a whirlwind of Gripping, sweet times to knock your socks off!

Well done Annabelle. I look forward to more!

Kari has not had good luck with family and life. But she has moved to. Different town, new experiences and quiet life. Keg, wants a quiet life and loves the house he grew up,in. His sister has the drama. Great son but abusive ex who has gone underground. Meeting Kari at a broken flagpole in an unkept park is the scene to hope. But family drama stops the potential love from happening. Adventure, thieves, fireworks and offered opportunity to escape the drama lead to kiss. No cliffhanger

A flag pole with no flag flying is not 4th of July, so Kali has one but needs help to raise it and that's when she meets Keg and Bud. This story had me laughing one minute and fanning myself the next. Keg is a firefighter on temporary leave after he got hurt in a fire and a total hero. Their attraction is instant and with some drama with his sister, it makes for a great storyline.

Steamy, but could've been smoking

It seemed to me, more interested in solving a crime, than a romance. There First sexual encounter was at parade, not logical, no one saw/herd anything. Not likely. A fun scenario, but not realistic. The second sexual encounter, on the hood of his truck, nope, unbelievable. These are two good-sized people. But his nephew was a redeeming person, other than his foul mouth.

Whew! Keg and Kari’s story is explosive (pun intended). They meet on July 3rd and are in love by the 4th, but danger causes trouble, of course. These two American Patriots fight together for love and family. And let’s not forget that parade! So. Dang. Good!

Hahaha! This is one of the calmer books that I've read from Annabelle. Don't get me wrong. It's still all sorts of crazy but at a level that I enjoy more. There's the OTT insta-love action between Kari and Keg, the public taking, the crazy brother-in-law, and some meth heads all rolled into one steamy quick read. Kari noticed a flag pole without a flag so she decides to put a flag there for the fourth of July. While there she meets Keg a firefighter who had the same idea. Who knew putting a flag on a pole would bring love. This is a short story with likable characters, fun banter, drama, humor and a parade that made this a great read. Kari sees an empty flag pole and tries to fix it

Keg is a freighter on medical leave when he spots that empty flag pole and decides his flag will look great there. Keg spots Kari and decides she's going to be his! We get lots of hot action and intrigue. These two love to banter but are certainly setting a bad example for his nephew.
