This was my first experience with poetry besides Shel Silverstein. (I probably just butchered his name) Some of this poems really hit home and some didn’t. But that’s the beauty of poetry. You don’t have to relate to every single poem to enjoy it. I really enjoyed this book, but the typos were frustrating. I would sit there for a minute trying to figure out what it said. For instance “deeling” instead of “feeling” or “amother” instead of “a mother” just little things that could’ve been easily fixed. I’m not sure if Kori Jane Spaulding is self edited and self published and I’m not super upset, just something to notice.
Either way, if you like poetry you’d probably enjoy this.
I really like this book of poetry. I found it really relatable. It is like she could see into my soul. Thank you for sharing your soul and talent with us. This is a book that I will read and re-read multiple times as a part of my own healing journey.
