Garrett
She was mine long before she realised it. From the moment I laid eyes on Chloe, I knew I’d do anything to keep her safe.
But playing the ‘good friend’ wasn’t easy, smiling through the dates and flirtation, keeping my hands to myself, waiting until the time was right.
That time is now.
But Chloe’s scars run deeper than I imagined. Ghosts from her past haunt her, and the defiance in her eyes dares me to look away.
She’s about to learn exactly who her Daddy is.
I’ll banish every demon, heal every wound, and show her how real men treat their women.

Chloe
He wouldn’t want me if he knew the truth, if he saw how broken I really am.
The teasing, the smiles. It's all an act. Even my sister doesn’t see how much I’m falling apart.
But Garrett? He sees everything. And he waited. I hated him for it, but I hated myself more for loving him.
There’s no hiding from him anymore. He sees past the tough exterior, straight into the cracks beneath.
But he doesn’t run. Instead, he stays, promising to fix the pieces and make me whole again.
Maybe, just maybe, scars can heal… with the right touch.

Chloe’s story is both heart-wrenching and inspiring, and while I’ve thankfully never endured what she went through, I could deeply empathize with her hesitation to relive her trauma by talking it out with a therapist. Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, and while I do think she should have sought out someone more suited to her needs, Garrett stepped in and filled that gap—at least that was how it seemed. That said, Garrett’s decision to keep Chloe at arm’s length until she turned 18 felt frustratingly misguided. She desperately needed his support for over a year, and though he clearly knew that she wanted more from him, his self-imposed boundaries seemed more harmful than protective. It’s a testament to Chloe’s resilience that she didn’t break down sooner. On the flip side, I couldn’t help but love Garrett’s patience and his steady presence. His constant reassurance and praise worked wonders in helping Chloe rebuild herself piece by piece. The journey of healing is never linear, and Chloe’s long history of silent suffering had allowed her triggers to fester and multiply. I really admired how Garrett pushed her just enough but never too far—his intuition about what Chloe needed felt spot on. Watching her rediscover her inner strength through their D/s dynamic was fascinating, even though I was occasionally surprised she didn’t balk at some points. However, Garrett’s biggest misstep was his lack of complete honesty with Chloe. Expecting her to bare her soul to him while he kept a significant part of himself hidden felt hypocritical. Worse, his secrecy was driven by a fear of losing her, which came across as selfish. Trust is a two-way street, and Chloe absolutely deserved the truth from him, even if it might have been a deal-breaker. Despite that misstep, Garrett was undeniably the right person to help guide Chloe on her path to healing. And Chloe? She was incredible. Her strength and determination to overcome her pain left me in awe. While the book is compelling and emotionally charged, I did feel the second half dragged a bit due to some repetition, and a tighter edit could have improved the pacing. Even so, this was my first read by Jess Peters, and it certainly won’t be my last.

Explicitly Empowered by Jess Peters is book three in the Explicit Doms Series. I will say that these books are standalones but to get a full feel of the world I suggest starting at the beginning. (Just a personal thought) Also please take note at the beginning; to be on the safe side. I read this book in about a day but I’m still unsure of how to start off this review. This was everything I was expecting from this world that is full of spiciness and trust in a partner. The storyline is that journey of coming back from something truly horrible and tragic to trying not to doubt and question yourself. I did enjoy reading this couple grow together from Garrett; his feelings and the lengths he would go for Chloe. Then there’s Chloe who is trying to make a life for herself and for him after everything that happened to her. Who is learning to trust again. I was eager to see what they could build together. But on the flip side I had moments when reading where I would wonder how did this happen…etc. I wished something’s were more detailed but overall I really liked the book. This couple was a great addition to the series and I’m hoping for more. I’m the end I had a good reading experience but as mentioned before please check the content of the book.

My heart hurt for Chloe. I truly believe age is just a number and these two are perfect for one another. That being said check your triggers because there are definitely sensitive topics discussed.
I enjoyed reading about this "Explicit Club" world and the characters Jess Peters has created in this story.

This age gap, Daddy Dom lifestyle was new to me and I enjoyed reading this couple's story.

This book focuses on Chloe (18) and Garret (36) Explicit club owner.

The character's journey in their relationship and how it evolved and developed was so good. They went from friendship to so much more.

Chloe is struggling with intimacy issues and personal insecurities after being assaulted a year prior. Garrett is a Daddy Dom and a total cinnamon roll. He's perfect for Chloe and just who she needs to help her heal from her past.

I found the Daddy Dom/Sub lifestyle interesting. This dynamic required a lot of trust and patience and I thought was described and written well.

Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

"This excitement was unlike anything I’d experienced before."

I've been looking forward to Chloe and Garrett's story for awhile. I loved how they bonded instantly and yet had to wait to be together. They not only had great chemistry but Garrett was wholly focused on helping her heal.

The writing in this book is a lot better than any previous book and it seemed more edited and polished. The only thing that prevents me from giving it five stars is that it was lacking in much plot besides him helping her heal.

Liam and Sandra are breaking me. Dylan and Mila are next. Clearly there are more stories planned.

This is book 3 in the Explicit Dom's Series. This series is based around the world of BDSM. Garrett is a Daddy Dom and Chloe is his submissive. I liked how this book started out a little forbidden, based on Chloe's age and how they were connected. This book basically follows Chloe's healing journey. She went through something traumatic and Garrett helps her heal. This series is interconnected standalones but I would recommend reading from the beginning as characters from the other books are involved quite a lot throughout this book.

I waited for a year for book #3, and ohmygee, it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved Garret and Chloe's story. Filled with so many emotions, and I felt them all. I devoured this book in under twenty-four hours because it was so beautifully written. The emotions were raw, the trauma, him helping her through her fears, and the love you could feel between them left me breathless. Definitely a must-read and reread!

This is Garrett and Chloe's story. To start with I appreciate the fact that Garrett we didn't tell she was 18 to start anything with her. I also appreciate that it didn't just happen overnight that they slowly worked through her trauma. And that there was even episodes of setbacks which is what happens in real life. Yeah he was patient and supportive. On the other hand Liam and Sandra had me in tears.

He's a daddy dom and she's a brat that is struggling with a traumatic past. He wants her but her past is still a shadow she carries around. When a daddy dom helps you overcome your past to make you the best version of you that you can be.

This was a really nice, steamy read.

Each book of this serious could technically be a standalone but I would reconvene reading from book one. I was so glad when part 3 came out. Definitely worth the wait! For me it was a quick read, the pace was great, the character interaction was fantastic, and I would read it again!

We finally got Chloe and Garrett’s story and it was well worth the wait!! We get to see Garrett’s obsession and how he was willing to do anything for Chloe. We also see Chloe grow from everything she went through and be the woman she wants to be for Garrett.

This novel is a highly emotional story about a young woman, Chloe, who has been through trauma and the man, Garrett, who has loved her since he laid eyes on her. The book looks at how Chloe overcomes her traumatic experience and how Garrett supports her. The spice is low level because the story focuses on the journey and not the bedroom. It was a very emotionally charged story so make sure to check the trigger warnings!
