For as long as I can remember, my future was set. To take over from my uncle and lead the Royal Bastards MC.
After a five year stretch behind bars, I step back into club life, and my brothers are ready for me to guide them forward.
But trouble is already on the horizon. The Bloody Scorpions have moved into our territory, and we need to reclaim control – and fast.
Then there’s Olivia. She stood by me, loyal and patient, planning a future for us. But I shattered her dreams the moment I accepted the President’s patch, putting my club above everything else.
Now, I face a tough road ahead – keeping my brother’s safe, balancing the club’s future, and holding onto Liv.
But with both in jeopardy, I know I won’t survive without either.
Nicola Jane, a native of Nottinghamshire, England, has always harboured a deep passion for literature.
From her formative years, she found solace and excitement within the pages of books, often allowing her imagination to roam freely. As a teenager, she would weave her own narratives through short stories, a practice that ignited her creative spirit.
After a hiatus, Nicola returned to writing as a means to liberate the stories swirling within her mind. It wasn't until approximately five years ago that she summoned the courage to share her work with the world.
Since then, Nicola has dedicated herself tirelessly to crafting poignant, drama-infused romance tales. Her stories are imbued with a sense of realism, tackling challenging themes with a deft touch.
Outside of her literary pursuits, Nicola finds joy in the company of her husband and two teenage children. They share moments of laughter and bonding that enrich her life beyond the realm of words.
Nicola Jane has many books from motorcycle romance to mafia romance, all can be found on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited.
I love a good rage read but this is not it. I think if I had low self-esteem or was looking for validation because I stayed with a man who cheated on me, then I would enjoy this. But because none of that applies to me, then this just becomes a story that has stupidly annoying characters I can’t relate to so I end up bored. Waste of time. If the heroine (whose name I’ve forgotten) started something up with someone else for a bit of fun for a while, then that would have made this so much more enjoyable. But nope. Can’t have that, can we? Because only the hero is allowed to fuck other people (which he has done on multiple occasions while with her). And her job is to just put up with his cheating ways because…well, I don’t actually know why. Because she’s an idiot? He’ll cheat again and she’ll cry again but still stay.
I’m so tired of reading about dumb, idiotic characters.
Not really sure what to say about this, but Bully didn't deserve to keep Olivia as his ol' lady. He cheated on her multiple times. Then cheated with a female prison guard once he was incarcerated. Before getting caught he had slept with said prison guard 15 times. If they hadn't been caught and her being fired they probably would have continued for the five years he was in prison. The kicker she was pregnant with his child. Wtaf? Does Nicola Jane hate her FMCs? I keep waiting for her to write a decent FMC in her MC books that actually doesn't take back the loser and either walks away or gets a new H. Lila the prison guard ended up being the ol' lady and wife of a different biker. And the whole time he's trying to get revenge on Bully for fucking his wife and impregnating her. Which made Dagger lose his mind and he ended up killing his wife. So many complaints, but like always no resolution in this author's books. Stories always feel halfway written. The H did the bare minimum and with his track record there's absolutely no way he wouldn't cheat again. He knows Olivia will take him back each time. And the cycle continues as she had no backbone and was TDTL. I was actually disappointed. Thought Nicola Jane would finally get one right, but no. Everyone in the club treated Olivia like shit. Even in the end. And the club whore who was bothering her has nothing done to her. Bully even stuck up for the whore at the halfway mark. I definitely don't recommend as it wasn't a satisfying read at all and Bully was a sleaze. Don't believe their HEA one bit. He was all words and zero action.

what is wrong with this author???? is she a man? perhaps. there is no way in every single book her FMCs love a cheater and stay with them.
the POS slept with a warden while he was in prison and she was CELIBATE. He was pissed even with the idea that she might have been with someone and yet he slept with someone else Inside the prison. And he had already cheated twice (at least) before he went inside.
and I understand getting back together. But give the girl some break and let her have some fun and appreciation with someone else.
plus in the beginning he tries to hook up with a club whore because Liv left him and he says something like it's been 5 years. Well guess what, it wasn't. I don't know if the author forgot this, if she changed the story while writing it or if she wanted to make us believe that he didn't remember it.
Weak FMC and irredeemable MMC. Serial cheater, zero grovel. Literally bought the FMC breakfast and with her thinking you would assume he jumped in front of a bullet for her and her entire family. Nah, hard pass. If the FMC gave the MMC some of his own medicine and banged every rival MC Prez then I’d maybe consider 2/3 stars. MMC doesn’t care about the FMC so I don’t believe they would ever have a HEA and he will 100% continue cheating on her.
He got another woman pregnant while he was in prison ffs all while the FMC was at home being faithful waiting for his sorry ass to get released. 🤮

I went into this book a bit wary, because this author is notorious for heavy cheating and weak heroines. And while I actually enjoy cheating tropes, I can’t stand women who just roll over and take it, so I’m usually cautious with her work. But honestly? This book wasn’t bad at all. Out of everything I’ve read from her, this might actually be one of the more balanced stories, especially for an MC romance.
The book follows Olivia, known as Liv, and her long-term boyfriend Liam, known as Bully, who’s part of a motorcycle club. They’ve been together for years, and the story opens with Liv getting ready to see him after five years apart. Bully has been in prison for killing his brother Pierce after Pierce raped Liv’s sister Bria. Because of everything that happened, Liv’s relationship with the club pretty much fell apart — she doesn’t care about them, they don’t care about her, and there’s zero loyalty between them.
When Bully gets released, Liv has herself all dressed up, a hotel room booked, ready to welcome him home, and instead of meeting her, he goes straight to the club because they’ve made him president. Not the best reunion. Their past wasn’t smooth either — before prison, Bully had cheated on her twice, once with a club whore and once with a random woman, and even though he always confessed, it left scar tissue in the relationship.
The main conflict comes from a rival called Dagger, who starts a war with the club for what seems like unexplained reasons — until we find out the real truth. Dagger’s wife, Lila, was a prison guard, and Bully had been sleeping with her while he was inside. Sometimes they even recorded it. Liv ends up seeing these videos, which were absolutely heartbreaking. This is the moment where she truly realises she will never be Bully’s priority, and she walks away. I actually really liked Liv here — she had a backbone. She stood up for herself, confronted the club brothers, told them she didn’t owe them anything, and refused to tolerate more disrespect. She wasn’t weak, and that made me root for her so much more.
Meanwhile, the Dagger situation escalates. He becomes more aggressive, and it slowly becomes clear that he’s targeting Liv too. Toward the end of the book, he corners her, attacks her, and almost forces himself on her. Liv fights back, kills him in self-defence, and although she survives physically, the emotional aftermath is heavy. She struggles with PTSD, guilt, and shock. And surprisingly, this is where Bully finally shows up the way he should have years ago. He’s there for her, truly there — comforting her, grounding her, helping her through the trauma instead of making it about himself. It’s one of the strongest emotional parts of the book.
Once the dust settles — he ends up killing Dagger’s men, the war ends, and everything starts to calm down — Bully and Liv slowly find their way back to each other. I don’t think Bully was perfect by any means, and he still made stupid choices, but compared to this author’s usual heroes, he really wasn’t the worst. And to his credit, he didn’t actually cheat in the present timeline. There was a moment after Liv stormed off where he called a club girl to his room, but he sent her away. The intention was annoying, but at least he didn’t follow through.
Liv stayed loyal the entire time — even through five years of prison — so she deserved far better than what she got. But I appreciated her strength, her boundaries, and her refusal to be treated like an accessory. In a genre where heroines are often doormats, she wasn’t.
The epilogue was actually nice. A couple of weeks later, Bully has changed in the ways that matter. He’s putting Liv first, loving her loudly, treating her like his old lady in a way that feels protective rather than possessive. She’s by his side, confident, respected, and finally treated the way she always should have been. They’re making plans for the club, working together, fully committed, and the whole vibe is surprisingly wholesome for an MC romance. It feels like both of them are finally in a good, stable place after everything they went through.
For an MC book, I enjoyed this. For this author’s usual standards, it was actually one of the better ones. Bully wasn’t as awful as some of her other heroes, Liv had a spine, the angst was heavy but not pointless, and the story moved quickly. I’m genuinely looking forward to the rest of the series — and I hope the next books keep the strong female characters coming.
Notes: - cheated with 3 different women throughout their years together, the longest was with the prison guard whilst in prison; - Laila the prison guard was pregnant and was killed by her husband - we don’t hear him talk about other women apart from him mentioning that Layla was nice and maybe there’s like a sentence where he’s like looking at the club whores because they’re parading in front of him; - he does ask a club whore to go to his room, but kicks her out; - he is jealous and protective of her; - admits that he doesn’t deserve her; - no mention of safe sex; he talks about wanting to get her pregnant but she’s on the pill -since he slept with the prison guard in prison, he admits that he hasn’t been with anyone else and it will only ever be liv

Bully didn’t deserve Liv. And in the end although I think he regretted his actions he just didn’t do enough for me to really cheer for their HEA. I didn’t think NJ could write a hero worse than cooper but I def think she succeeded with Bully.

Looking for a cheating and redemption story to give you the warm fuzzies? This ain’t it. Is it realistic? Probably, sadly. The h puts up with so much cheating and waits for the H. Then 💩 hits the fan and the H is so worried about her *feelings* that he leaves her vulnerable and unprotected. She even notes that now would be a good time for him to be alpha. Did the H redeem himself? Questionable. Did I care about them by the time I got to the end of this book? No.

This one just didn’t work for me. I do not believe them as a couple. I think cheating can work in some contexts but it happened so many times without anything redeeming. Also some sections felt like earlier parts of the story were forgotten. Dagger sending white roses absolutely a strange coincidence, the next one him knowing her drink, but he bought her one before so it’s not strange that he knew it? Also it felt like the bug was discovered and then a few pages later it was like it was discovered for the first time all over again. I like so many of Nicola’s books but this one just felt a little disjointed. I found Dagger interesting but then he almost turned into a cartoonish villain at least for me. But honestly the bit that grated on me the most was her loosening her curls at 5pm she’d done at 6am but maybe that’s just because my hair would never last all day like that. Hoping to read more series in the future that feel more like the Kings Reapers or Perished Riders series, this one just wasn’t for me.

I knew he wouldn't be likable, but the h was tstl. If you look up "doormat" in the dictionary, her name would be there. I don't believe for a second he is done cheating because she keeps taking him back without much of a fight. His eye kept wandering throughout the book. He will be on gold behavior for a bit, but eventually, he will see something shiny or club business will stress him out enough to step out.
I can handle a shitty H, but I need to at least like the h and I just couldn't find it in me with this one.
What did I just read? Seriously, what on earth did I just read? The TSTL characters lacked depth, the HEA was so unbelievable because we know for sure cheaters are gonna cheat again and again, and we know doormats are going to take said cheaters back again and again. The story lacked angst, feels, passion, drive. I got excited when I had a couple of eye rolls - go me!
I can see why the author didn't bother getting the MMC to grovel, because no grovelling in all of MC fictiondom could've redeemed the cretin.
Was really excited to read this book but was sorely disappointed. Main FC and MC were a let down. There was no depth whatsoever. No grovelling given the amount of times he cheated and the way he cheated. MFC is a doormat that just accepts it. The love story is basically non-existing, just a toxic cycle of cheating. I don’t know how many times a character can cheat and say they’re remorseful and do it again. Didn’t even bother to find the final chapters.
Now I may be a bit biased as I love both MC romances and Nicola Jane’s work, but I thought Bully’s Darkness was a really good book, to the point where I happily devoured the book from start to finish in less than 2 hours it may have been a shorter book but trust me that’s fast even for me.
The thing about MC romances is that they have that touch of darkness we all somewhat crave, without (usually) delving into pitch black. Plus bikers have that whole rough and ready possessive man vibe that just makes your thighs clench. Nicola Jane never fails in this respect and Bully’s Darkness is no different in this regard. It has a fantastic plot filled with just the right amount of danger, and lies and betrayals all round. It also has the FMC Olivia, who after 5 years of waiting for her boyfriend (Bully/Liam) to be released continues to be hit from all sides, with betrayal, gaslighting and twisted truths, that would down even the most strong willed woman, and yet she still stands strong and determined.
I didn’t feel like this was a typical romance in the sense that despite having all the growly and possessive qualities that normally speak to me, I just couldn’t connect with Bully’s character, he just rubbed me up the wrong way right from the start, and didn’t have enough grovel or time for character growth for me personally, so when it came down to it I wasn’t as invested in a HEA for him.
Don’t let that put you off reading though as the story and FMC more than make up for any personal feelings about Bully. You don’t need to agree with Olivia’s choices in order to respect them, and you can’t help but have respect for a woman who knows what she wants and chooses that for herself regardless of anything or anyone else. She had enough backbone to stick to what she wanted, and I have to say that if anyone deserves her own HEA whatever that may look like, whether the guy gets the girl …or not Olivia stands strong for herself and that is admirable, authentic and truly a thing of beauty. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi! Just Finished Bully’s Darkness. By Nicola Jane. Spice 🌶️🌶️ Betrayal 💔💔Cheating not on page Grovel Redemption 🖤 not a grovel story changed behavior He cheats off page while dating and and also a year into the relationship she knew he cheated before going to prison. after 3 years of being together he goes to prison. While there he cheats with female guard He is there for 5 years The guard disappears after 3 years he is not heartbroken nor does he care. They have smex about 15 times. Typical I was missing you I was drowning blah blah bull💩You find this out later in book. It finally gets back to h that he cheated while in prison she’s done. I found the h kind of naive throughout this book she was strong and while she still loved him she was just over his bull💩 as well. and while she does cave and take him back with in my opinion very little grovel. I think he changed his way and knew it was time to grow the heck up. H is very immature cake eater and then he grows up and realizes what wants her he walks the walk and talks the talk.
Nicola is not known for grovel and I actually like that at times.
I’m leaving out other plot points and MC. Stuff that is going that leads to results of his cheating.
I felt this was the book I’ve been wanting that old school MC cheating book that I used to love book through and through. Gave it 4 🌟
I'm really not one for cheating books. That being said, this wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be based on quite a few reviews. My bad for reading them before reading the book. Olivia has waited 5 years for Bully to get out of prison. She has the whole day and night planned for them. She waits all day, and he never gets released, so she finally decides to ask the guard when Bully will be released. He was released that morning before she got there. Does he call her?Nope. That's how this book starts. From there, it's a rollercoaster of a ride between these two. You have to understand something when you love someone as deeply and as long as Olivia has loved Bully. You can't just stop or turn it off it doesn't work that way. There's a lot that happens in their story. Some good a lot not.Do they work things out? Well, that's something you'll have to learn by reading the book. I'm not trying to be mean or bash anyone for what they wrote. Everyone is right because it's their opinion. I will say I was not a fan of the name Bully. I just thought it was lame. Again, this is all my opinion.
This one took me a minute to gather my thoughts. Which only goes to show the maturity and complexity of the author to make me feel all the things.
All aspects were well thought out and addressed, but my main anger was at the two MC’s. They both had faults, they both acted in anger and instead of just talking; they fought.
The chemistry was there but I was mad at her for leading him along, asking for grovelling, but when he tried, instead of listening and looking past the issues they’ve had and gone past, she brings it up constantly.
Bully grew on me. I hated him at first, but after a while, I really saw him for the man he was.
After really reflecting, I can see how real and raw this romance was. It wasn’t a fairytale, it deals with some serious issues in a relationship, and there in itself, when you can forgive the guy who is being a rat bast**d, I think Nicola did a fantastic job.
I really loved this one it’s had romance, heartbreak, ow/om drama the way she Nicola Jane wrote Bully’s character the only thing I didn’t care too much for was the FL how she was so easy to forgive the ML pretty much for everything he did very fast. I’m all for fl who still love the ml and openly put that out there instead of saying “I don’t love you, I’m over you” but still very much in love with the ml but trying to stay this bad ass fl. I feel like she should have made him work harder for forgiveness for all his mistakes because they were big ones not little ones that are a lil bit easy to let go and move forward. And the sister I feel like she is bipolar lol I won’t spoil it but one minute she all F Bully, then the next two pages she’s all team Bully hahaha but I still very much enjoy this read.
Someone recommended this book as a must read. I must have missed something. It was good but not compelling for me. The H had been in prison for five years. The h waited for him. She goes to the prison on his release date not knowing a time for his release. After waiting all day, she finds out that he was picked up by his MC early in the day. He went back to his clubhouse and accepted the president role but didn't contact the h all day. The issue taking second place to the club has been an ongoing issue in their relationship and the h decides to end it when he once again makes the club a priority. The story does maintain interest, not with angst but with breadcrumbs/revelations sprinkled throughout the book. This keeps the story of the h being caught between two rival gangs going. A little OW drama, grovel and remorse.
I’m not sure how much I liked this one. I wished the FMC had a bit more backbone, that she was a bit stronger. I wished there was a bit more redemption act when the cheating was out - the MMC didn’t really make much of an effort more than push himself in the FMCs space.
However. I do like me some angsty story, a book that makes my blood pressure rise and make me feel stuff. And this book did just that.
A 3,5 ⭐️ book that would be a 4 ⭐️ if the female had some more backbone in this authors book world. 🫶🏻
I don’t see anything changing permanently. He’s currently behaving but with his history, he’ll go back to his normal after this honeymoon period ends and will be sleeping with the club girls before long. Since the heroine has the flimsiest of backbones, she’ll probably get all sad again but she won’t leave him for long so he’ll never have any real consequences for his betrayals. Why should he change when she’s so forgiving?
At this point, she deserves him and they belong together.
I’m never reading this authors books again.

I love MC Romance but no one does MC Romance like Nicola! Bully is a mess of a man and he takes Liv for granted for far too long. He did grovel but they are the type of toxic relationship that can't be kept apart. This did have a twist I didn't see coming so I was very pleasantly surprised by that. But I loved these two! Highly recommend if you like owd and omd and cheating on page. Great read as always!!
Bully always knew his fate to become prez after his uncle, and when he gets out the brothers are their to claim their prez only Olvia didnt know, she stood by him and his promises of a life together only for him to choose the club again and again well she says no more but the clubs enemies have other ideas. This one shatters you and rebuilds, Bully has a lot to grovel for and he does but will Olivia stick by her man? Well written engaging steamy, ow drama, and more
I don’t mind redemption and forgiveness, but that wasn’t the case with those book. The mmc didn’t grovel for 5 mins because why would he when the fmc is a doormat?! She’s the kind of woman that if he cheated on her again (and he will), you will unfortunately tell her you deserved that because you saw the red flags time and time again. It’s sad because the author wrote a very convincing angst that kept the readers hooked, she just couldn’t write an as convincing redemption or ending.
I really enjoyed the Royal Bastards MC, Nottingham Chapter.
Bully and Liv’s story is gritty and emotional, with strong themes of loyalty, love, and redemption. The characters feel real, especially Bully’s struggle between duty to his club and his relationship with Olivia.
If you like dark, fast-paced MC romances with heart, this one’s for you, it’s definitely a page turner.
I really enjoyed this book of Bully and Liv. Bully had just been released after a 5 yr prison stint. Liv went to pick him up and waited all day until she found out his MC club had came and got him. So begins the tone of the book. There is so much that happens. An enemy gets close to Liv and she finds out a heartbreaking fact about Bully in prison. So good.
Wow I feel like i was on an emotional roller coaster . My feelings for this book were all over the place. I loved it, I hated it, I was mad at it, but in the end it all made sense! First I loved Bully then I was mad at him, the same for Olivia. Just such a great story. Definitely glad I stayed for the end! Definitely recommend reading this story. ♥️♥️
🏍️MC romance 💔Cheating ❤️🩹Second chance (more like third, fourth… or fifth chance 🙃) 🚫🔥OW and OM drama ☢️Toxic Relationship
I’m disappointed!! I nearly DNF’d. I usually root for a HEA between the main couple, but in this case I wish Olivia had chosen someone else. She deserved better. I genuinely believe Bully will cheat again
An awesome read, I absolutely loved Bully and Olivia’s story ❤️❤️❤️ It was a hard hitting, gritty read with chaos and danger, just what I want in an MC book. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Emotional rollercoaster! The history and progress that the characters make is captivating. Bully and Liv go through just about everything that can be tossed at them! There is a bit of OW/OM drama which keeps you on your toes! Again, so complicated in a fun and twisted way. Basically what I aim for when picking up a motorcycle romance.
This shit pissed me tf off. I'm used to cheating in Nicola's novels, that's fine. The cheating is annoying but isn't what makes me rate this book so low. I'll never get used to the brain dead, door mat, stupid cunt of a FMC who forgives the useless whore of a MMC because they 'love' them....fuck you and your pretentious love.
