When you aim for love, better learn how to hit the bullseye.

Mollie Tate never should have agreed to a girls trip to a small Colorado mountain town with her friends. Their idea of a pleasant adventure tour is her nightmare, and now she’s supposed to nail a target and climb a mountain with a hot guide looking on? This isn't going to go well.

Hunter West has been an adventure guide for years, teaching and guiding tourists through hikes, mountain biking, and backpacking while avoiding any romantic entanglements with them. That's never been a problem for his orderly life, until Mollie storms into his orbit with her complete inability to throw an axe or ride a bike. Suddenly, Hunter is wondering if he's ready for something bigger.

Private lessons might help Mollie connect her mind and body enough to hit a target, but getting her heart involved is a bigger problem. As the town draws her in and Hunter teaches her new skills on and off the trail, Mollie begins to consider whether she’s found an adventure that’s lifelong.

I wanted to love this book more than I did. There was something ablut the characters that I just didn't click with. I think overall it just fell a little flat for me. I found myself wondering how much of the book I had left. I think the book is probably amazing for others, but for me it just didn't hit the way I hoped.

I really thought I would enjoy this book. I enjoyed My Secret Vice by this author last year, and this sounded like a really cute and cosy romance!

But there was just something off about this book. I thought at first the two MCs were both on the spectrum, because the dialogue felt clunky and unnatural (which is totally fine, I enjoy books with great reps!) but then the non-dialogue paragraphs also felt clunky and strange.

I also loathed the two “BFF” characters - they appeared to be mean girls, but Mollie kept excusing their behaviour… why is she even friends with these people??? I thought there would be more character development - maybe Mollie growing a backbone, but I didn’t see that.

I really liked the idea of the book, but the book didn’t live up to the blurb for me.

Thank you to Happily Booked for the eARC!

A fun novella about finding yourself and learning to trust the voice inside of you. Mollie is turning 30 and her and her friends decide to have a little adventure trip in Telluride. Her friends think she needs to get there and have a vacation fling. Mollie doesn't do casual but she's drawn to guide Hunter. Sparks fly between them and soon they give into the temptation. Both start feeling that it's more but are afraid of those feelings since Mollie lives so far away. Can Mollie find herself? what will become of her relationship with Hunter?

Aim For Love is a fast-paced novella about stepping out of your comfort zone and finding something better than you imagined.

Hunter has lived in this small town his whole life. He loves his job as an adventure guide but always follows the rules, especially the one about not fraternising with the tourists. Mollie has spent her life doing things to please others, which is how she found herself in her worst nightmare, an adventure holiday with activities she’s no good at.

I loved both Hunter and Mollie. They had such chemistry, and the sparks were flying, both in and out of bed. They complemented each other despite being total opposites and were really good for each other. Hunter helps Mollie embrace the activities, giving her one-on-one coaching and encouragement. Mollie helps Hunter see that there’s more to life than playing by the rules.

What let the story down was the supporting cast. I felt Mollie’s two friends were just nasty and selfish, pushing Mollie towards Hunter just for ‘a vacation fling’. They had no care or regard for Mollie’s feelings or her well-being. It's the same, really, with Scott, Hunter’s colleague and so-called friend. He was more interested in breaking the rules and mocking Hunter for being so straitlaced instead of getting to know him or watching out for him.

I actually loved Mollie’s mum though, she was a sensible voice and calm reason, I loved how she threw herself into the small town vibe in the end.

Mollie has an inspiring personality, even though she isn’t a master when she first tries something she doesn’t give up! Hunter is an amazing tour guide and is very thoughtful. Their story was sweet and they work well with together. She even has a pretty cool mom too!

This was a quick, cute romcom. Loved the fact that Mollie at least tried new things and never gave up. Her friends at times were annoying and too pushy. Hunter was adorable. Adventurous and a secret nerd!

Super sweet novella. I adored Hunter’s character a lot. I felt like he was sweet but had quirks that made it cuter. Mollie was adventurous but sometimes would just be a lot in my opinion with getting down on herself.

I think we can all agree her friends were not the best. Overall I enjoyed the story, the characters and the spice!

"I’m going to show everybody that I don’t just try hard, sometimes—with the right ingredients, and support around me—I succeed." 🪓

This book was an absolute delight 🩵 The 'opposites attract' trope is one I usually enjoy, but Alicia Wilder handled it with such skill and nuance. Mollie and Hunter were just brilliant together. Mollie, with her carefully constructed comfort zone, and Hunter, the adventurous spirit who gently coaxes her out of it. What made it truly special for me was the genuine connection between them. It wasn't a case of forced attraction; you could feel the sparks fly and see how they truly complemented each other. There was one quote in particular that really struck a chord with me: "Nobody has fun when an activity makes them feel incompetent." It's such a simple truth, isn't it? And this idea ran beautifully throughout the book, particularly in Hunter's unwavering support of Mollie as she tentatively tried new things. It wasn't about pushing her, but rather encouraging her, celebrating her small victories, and making her feel safe enough to step outside her familiar world. It was genuinely heartwarming to witness. It wasn't just a one-way street, either, just as Hunter helped Mollie discover her adventurous side, Mollie was exactly what Hunter needed in his life. She brought a sense of calm and stability to his more restless nature, offering him a different perspective and a deep emotional connection he hadn't realised he was missing.

I've enjoyed the witty banter between Mollie and Hunter, their conversations were sharp, funny, and often revealing, giving us little glimpses into their inner thoughts and feelings. I also very much enjoyed Alicia Wilder's ability to weave in moments of genuine emotion without resorting to melodrama. There were scenes that made me laugh out loud, and others that genuinely tugged at my heartstrings. It's a testament to Alicia Wilder's skill as a storyteller that she managed to strike such a perfect balance. Aim For Love isn't just a sweet romance; it's a story about personal growth, the courage to embrace new experiences, and the transformative power of finding someone who truly sees and appreciates you for who you are. 🥰

Mollie is on vacation with her high school friends, Nora and Sophie, as a last hurrah before one gets married and the other moves away. Mollie is stuck in a rut of her life and her friends want her to try all these new things to show her what she's missing out on, so they all get signed up for an adventure tour. That is where Mollie meets Hunter, one of the guides, and they hit it off. There is an attraction and her friends push her to pursue a week long fling with Hunter. As they spend time together, they both realize that they are not fling people but are scared to want more because Mollie is leaving at the end of the week. Can they find a way to tell each other how they feel and make this work?

This was a cute and basic meet-cute story but it was missing something. There was little shown on-page attraction between the two and Mollie and Hunter were both very timid so it was hard for me to see the connection between them. It seemed like they were kinda forced together and they just fell into each other. I found her friends incredibly annoying and not redeemable. They were blandly rude, crass, pushy and not at all supportive of her wants. They only seemed to keep her around as a punching bag for them to knock around.

Hunter was a perfect fit for her because he did allow her to be herself and encourage her but not be too pushy. The ending was incredibly cute and I was glad to see Mollie find herself and her real friends.

Huge thanks to Happily Booked PR and Alicia Wilder for sharing this book’s digital advanced review copy with me in exchange for an honest review.

Really cute, quick (less than 200 pages) romcom with a nerdy MMC and a people pleaser FMC.

Mollie has been roped into an adventure getaway with her friends. She’s looking to reconnect with them. And they’re looking to get to try as many adventurous things as possible. But Mollie is not adventurous. Not even a little bit. But saying no to her friends is difficult. Especially when there’s a really cute nerdy travel guide who’s patient and kind, there to help.

Hunter has lived in this small town as his life. He works here and loves and here and has no plans to leave. Though he does have plans. Or rather ideas. Ideas about his life. About the business. About a different future. And now, he’s starting to get ideas about the cute curvy girl with the pixie cut. But getting involved with someone who I just passing through isn’t what he wants. Even if he finds himself …wanting her.

These two were so cute!! Mollie is a people pleaser who is just trying to figure her life out. (Aren’t we all lol?) Her friends left a lot to be desired 🙄, but it just set the stage for Hunter to come in and be that patient, caring person she needed.

I loved how relatable Mollie was. She’s wasn’t the best, or really good lol, at any of the activities. But she tried!!

Hunter was stoic and gentlemanly, with his book loving nerdy ways. I loved how kind of timid they both were. It was so endearing.

My fave was the epilogue. I LOVE when an epilogue isn’t just a cookie cutter replica. The same old HEA. I love when it fits the characters and there journey. And this one did!!

Mollie was the quiet, introverted friend who usually went along with whatever her friends wanted to do. A girls trip to a remote Colorado town turns chaotic when she’s forced into hiking, biking, and axe-throwing... all under the watchful (and unfairly hot) eye of adventure guide Hunter West. He’s sworn off flings with tourists. She’s sworn off dirt and discomfort. But sparks fly, targets are missed, and maybe—just maybe—they’re both about to fall for the unexpected.

This novella was such a fun read! Mollie felt relatable — a bit of a people-pleaser, definitely out of her element, but still willing to try. It was so satisfying to see her step out of her comfort zone, even when she clearly wasn’t a natural at any of the activities (which honestly made her even more lovable). Hunter was the sweetest — calm, patient, and a total softie with his quiet, nerdy, book-loving ways.

There was definitely mutual attraction between them, but they were both kind of timid about it, until Mollie’s friend gave her that little push into a summer fling. What started as something casual slowly turned into more, and I loved watching them realize they’re just not “fling” people — they’re the real deal. I really don’t like her friends that much. They seem to pushing and self centered. I think that was the theme for them. This story had charm, laughter, and that perfect mix of vulnerability and swoon. Just really, really sweet.

Aim for Love is meet cute romcom with dual POV. The FMC is a people pleaser and the MMC is a nerdy outdoor enthusiast.

Mollie, reluctant to embark on an adventure vacation with her friends Nora and Sophie, yearns for a final bonding experience before one of them gets married and the other moves away. They’re determined to try as many adventurous activities as possible. Despite her lack of adventurous spirit, Mollie finds it challenging to resist their invitations. However, things become easier when they encounter Hunter, nerdy travel guide who is from the small town in Colorado and still resides there.

The story was charming, but I couldn’t quite connect with or love the characters. Mollie was excessively self-conscious, while Hunter seemed somewhat reserved and cold. Both seem overly timid. I was often annoyed with Mollie and just wish she would relax and enjoy herself, which was essentially what she was trying to do. I kept thinking, “Mollie, your life doesn’t hinge on whether you can ride a mountain bike or throw an axe; just have fun! Enjoy yourself! It’s vacation.” Her friends were really annoying. They were pushy, rude, and not supportive or understanding. I’m glad she eventually found true friends, and I’m also glad Hunter encouraged and allowed her to be herself.

It is a good, quick pallet cleanser between books.

Thank you so much Happily Booked PR and Alicia Wilder for the copy of the book for my honest review.

I had such a wonderful time with this novella! This was the perfect amount of sweet and steamy I needed.

Aim for Love is a steamy, opposites attract, fish out of water, small town romance between Mollie and Hunter.

I loved seeing Mollie’s journey through this book. Watching her gain her self-confidence, standing up for herself and what she wants in life, is something I really related to. I loved how she grew in her determination and spirit as well, wanting to accomplish every goal she set for herself and stopping at nothing until she does. I think so many people will relate to her and her story, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it themselves!

Hunter is an absolute sweetheart when it comes to Mollie! He really wants her to be the best version of herself, and the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself wanting the best of everything for her. He’s also so realistic, which I really loved, he has some awkward moments that I think everyone will relate to. He truly thinks the absolute world of Mollie, and will protect her at all costs.

I had such a great time with this romance, and I need everyone to pick this up on release day, April 15th💗

This was so much fun and the characters were amazingly endearing ,I was tearing! Molly is the opposite of her daring friends and getting in a bit of a pickle . She’s rescued and entertained and feeling ever so fickle. Mollie Tate and a mountain so great in height gives her a bit of a fright . But she’ll be alright because she has Hunter , wonder if after this she’ll score a permanent date since he doesn’t shunt her… Hunter West is all adventure ,biking , hiking ,mountain climbing and all whereas Mollie Nash is a little rash and is brought in a rash and Ives as she struggles to survive. He teaches her a thing or two and sees something he doesn’t normally do in this woman. New skills learnt has changed her no end can he be more than her friend . She’s fallen for the town too ,now she Aims For Love . If she’s good enough….Shes turning thirty so why not get flirty? Yay ,these two are perfectly smitten and I for one is happy as a kitten. Great writing by Alicia Wilder and what fun as the target is hit. I would heartily recommend it. Because love is a requisite and it’s not at all explicit.

”I’d recently gotten my annual review at work. I got “meets expectations” across the board. Even my job thinks I’m boring.”

Our FMC, Mollie, was one I related to from the very start. She’s going through each day exactly as she’s done before, not unhappy, but not necessarily completely happy with her life. She goes with her long time friends on a girls trip and end up with an itinerary she herself would have never written.

”You’re going to try biking and hiking and white-water rafting and you’re going to kiss a stranger.” Cringe. None of that sounds like me.”

I loved seeing both POVs in this story. We get to see how they both Mollie and Hunter get stuck in their own heads and cut themselves short, especially when it comes to each other. Seeing this in both characters was refreshing, and it wasn’t just about the guy coming to rescue the girl who lacks confidence.

”Am I just going to keep reading about life for the rest of mine?”

I kept thinking about the term, “romanticizing your life”, throughout this book. The opportunity to find out what you do and don’t like, while having fun doing it. Taking advantage of each day to connect and learn about yourself. Mollie was being pushed a lot and fell down quite a bit on this trip, but in the end, she got back up and each time she did she found more and more pieces of herself.

Let me see how I can Mollie-fy my own life!

The story was cute, but I didn’t really connect with the characters. Mollie was a bit too unsure of herself and Hunter was kind of stiff and cold. A lot of times in my head I was yelling at Mollie to just take a breath and live a little, which is ultimately what she was trying to do. I kept thinking “dang girl your life doesn’t depend on whether or not you can throw that axe, just have fun!! It’s vacation!! This just wasn’t for me. Small town vacay romance that turns into forever. Mollie is a tourist signed up for a week of adventure, except it’s the last thing she wants. She’s been dragged out by her friends as they try to get her out of her rut. She’s turning 30 and is unhappy with her life. Trying to turn things around, she opts to try new things, which she hates but is willing to have a go for the sake of her friends, when she’d rather just be left alone. One of her adventure week guides is the handsome Hunter, she’s also a homebody, an expert in his field but less of a social butterfly that the rest of the guides, much preferring his books to company. A tale of two socially awkward souls coming together but neither able to speak their minds, as we got towards the end, I really did wonder if they would make it to their HEA. A quick read with some heat added.

This was a fun and fast romcom, I finished reading it in one day. However some of the characters and their actions annoyed me a bit.

We follow Mollie who is going on an adventurous trip with 2 of her high school friends. Mollie is the shy one and the odd one out. Still she wants to join all the sporty activities even though she knows she will not be doing very well. They do activities like SUPing, throwing axes, and mountainbiking.

One of the adventure guides is Hunter, the complete opposite of Molly. Also he has never had any flings with the tourists.

Of course Hunter falls for Mollie and proposes to give her some private lessons to improve her outdoursy skills. On the other hand Mollie's friends are telling her to let loose and have a vacation fling with him.

ARC Review

A cute novella with the most adorably awkward MCs. Hunter is such a softie bookworm with an orderly life, and Mollie is a loveable people pleaser who tends to overthink. I felt the two were perfect for each other. They were both equally socially awkward and shy, and I liked the way Mollie and Hunter felt at ease and confident with each other.

Now, the thing that I didn't quite like was Mollie's friends. They seemed to rub off as being a bit mean towards Mollie when all she was was nice to them and just wanted to spend time with them before life took them in different directions. Then, at the end when Mollie admitted to herself and Hunter that they weren't real friends because she didn't feel like they supported her.

Overall, this book was a quick read, and the MCs were adorable when they were together, but there were definitely times when I just skimmed through it.

This was an absolutely adorable read. It was quick and quaint. It was a mixture of a slow burn and falling fast with all the confusing that overthinking brings us in real life. A short and sweet small town romance with the curvy queen and the hunky book loving adventurer.

Although it was short, it was a wild ride. I could feel the yearning that the main characters had for each other coming off the page. The book was not as spicy as I’m used to. There’s steam and open door scenes, but they are fast paced with not as much vivid detail much like the montage sex scenes in movies.

Overall the book was amazing and really showed how sometimes you have to try new things, listen to yourself instead of everyone else around you, and make a big change to find your satisfaction in life.

The dialogue was a little off for me, but I did enjoy the book overall. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was though. Mollie's "friends" were also THE worst, but her mom was awesome and I loved her no nonsense attitude.

It's okay to challenge yourself just don't do it at your expense or because others expect you to.
.....
That's the lesson I take from this book.

Neither Mollie nor Hunter do casual, but her "friends" pressure her into doing so and he decides to give it a go as well. Both are totally relationship people though. The temptation and draw is super strong though, and they can't resist.

Throughout her vacation, she tries new things in different ways to feel more comfortable despite the pressure she and her friends are placing on her. She needs to do things her own way.

I know this was a novella, but I would have liked more from both of them. Maybe in the next book. Thank you for early access, HappilyBookedPR.

This was a super cute romance and I had such a fun time with it! I read a lot of more dark books and sometimes I need something that leaves me feeling refreshed at the end. This was definitely that!

The plot of this novel, including the journey and the ending, felt a bit like a Hallmark movie. In a good way! It has the picturesque small town, city girl getting out of her comfort zone and finding herself vibes.

I adored Mollie and was rooting for her so hard from the start. However, her "besties" who were on vacay with her... Let's just say I would hiss at them like a cat if they came near me.

And Hunter? Mmmmph. Hot adventure outdoorsy boy with a intellectual side. Look I know it's a cheesy thing, but it worked in this book. I was drooling and I'm probably the least outdoorsy person ever.

Overall, this was short, sweet and very much worth the read!

Mollie's a hot mess... or at least that's what her friends make her feel like. She's not good at anything... at first. But instead of being there for her when they should, they are only there to push her into more things that are uncomfortable for her.

Hunter's trying to make a career out of the job he has leading tours through adventures, but is he making any headway? When he meets Mollie, he does something he's never done before; he breaks the rules.

I was not the biggest fan of the two BFFs that Mollie came on the tour with, but in the end, they kinda pulled their heads out of their collective buttocks. (Thank goodness!)

Besides those two examples, I loved the rest of the characters. They all had their own personality that made you root for them until the end.

I'd like to thank the author and Happily Booked PR for the opportunity to read this book.

Such a super cute and cozy romcom. I adored the MCs. Mollie, is a people pleaser and gets pulled into going on an adventure getaway with her friends, even though she isn’t adventurous at all. Hunter, loved books, had nerdy tendencies and worked as an adventure guide.

I enjoyed the storyline and felt Mollie was so relatable. Her character is definitely someone I could be friends with. I loved the chemistry between Millie and Hunter and how they complemented each other. And the banter between them had me giggling and kicking my feet. The author did a wonderful job with giving me all the feels of emotion with this story. I couldn’t get enough of it! Definitely one to add to your TBR if you enjoy a sweet, cozy, heartfelt romantic comedy. I will most definitely be looking up more books from this author.

Aim for Love

Are you ready for some love and adventure?

Join an adorable Mollie as she goes on vacation with her best friends for one last blast before they go their separate ways. Adventure activities are not really Mollie’s forte. However, tt doesn’t hurt that alone the way, the push her to try to link-up with their handsome adventure guide, Hunter.

Hunter is sweet, knowledgeable, and a by-the-book kind of man. So why does he find himself wanting to bend or break the rules when it comes to Mollie. Something about this girl, has him wanting to go out of the way to teach, and reward her.

This is a fun, lighthearted read. Filled with humor, romance, and a little second-hand embarrassment. Would be a great summer vacation read. You might want to go axe throwing or mountain biking afterwards. Enjoy!

Thank you to Alicia and Happily Booked for this little Novella!!

It was cute and inspiring in all the right ways! I connected with Mollie almost right away and Hunter was so serious and is just Mollie needs to help herself.

Mollie finds herself in a little town on an adventure girls trip for her birthday. She has a lot of emotional issues and struggles with anxiety and not being good enough for anything. She lives her life for other people and not at all for herself (hello, is she me? ) Hunter, the tour guide at adventure park, is the exact opposite and he takes everything so seriously and strictly by the rules. Their relationship is fluid, and they have to navigate whether they want a summer fling, or something more.

Aim for love is a sweet, finding yourself, small town romance novella that will leave you giddy. 100% recommend.

OH WOW this was a great book. It was a page turner and the suspense was heartwarming of friendship. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Now Mollie decided to going on vacation with her high school friends, Nora and Sophie, as a last hurrah before one gets married and the other moves away. Until Mollie meet this new guy was so intrigued with her beauty and chemistry in this moment. They couldn’t fight the temptation and sparks something inside of them in a special way. And will change everything in her life with a spike of romance and passion.
