Be careful who you follow… because not everyone is who they seem.

Dan, a single gay man nearing 40, finds himself stuck in a cycle of doom scrolling and self-doubt, which do nothing but fuel his own insecurities.

Following a not-so chance encounter with a charming local influencer, Dan finds himself drawn into a mystery surrounding the sudden death of his handsome insta-famous neighbour.

What begins as harmless curiosity quickly spirals into obsession, as Dan delves into this alien world of picture-perfect facades. Armed only with his stifling social anxiety and a penchant for sarcasm, the deeper he digs, the more he risks—because in a world where nothing is as it seems, the truth might just kill him

With sharp wit, dry humour, and suspenseful twists, Followers, by first time LGBTQ+ author D.M. Pickersgill, is a mystery like no other—a fun, thrilling ride through the eyes of a millennial introvert into the darker side of social media that will leave you questioning everything you think you know about the people behind the screens.

I enjoyed this a lot. The social media aspect and the voyeuristic follower. The desire to fit in and be liked and not to forget being a total people pleaser during a terrible date. Tie this into the overarching "who done it" and I'll definitely be back for this debut novelists second book.

Great story and an enjoyable read, just a shame about the very poor editing, which at times was very distracting to the story (may have given 5 stars 🌟 otherwise). Enjoyed the plot, twists, and the main character was relatable. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next release by this author. I just hope it's edited much better!

Great read! Highly engaging storyline, very witty with vivid characters and a twist at the end. Couldn't put it down. A refreshing change to the usual MM stuff.
