Hey Nikki, what runs through your mind, gimme Marcus now and don't tell Hunter I said so. A happy camper here with this story, Lily and Marcus are the quintessential couple who despise each other , cue enemies to lovers. And in the fact that they are working together in closed quarters while feeling so , cue workplace forced proximity. Having it all with the background of football, eeek, it was perfect - yes sports romance indeed. It was just so much fun reading these two in this. Another trope in this was something I was not expecting and I loved every bit of how it is represented and portrayed.
All in all , Marcus and Lily were destined for each other , so utterly Powerless for the love they had that they succumbed to it.

What a book!! Marcus and Lily are finally out for you all to read and they have a fabulous story. The banter in this book is superb, it will make you laugh, swoon, maybe shed a little tear but ultimately you will be gripped! I love an enemies to lovers storyline and these two are it but Marcus doesn’t know why! They are both ex professional football ⚽️ players and become work colleagues as they commentate together… I’m laughing as I wrote this as it’s just such fun banter!

Marcus and Lily had the most intense, and compatible but hate to love relationship with so much swoon I couldn’t stop kicking my feet!
My heart hurt for Lily and the past and trauma she went through, but still managed to become this insane Boss lady. She had this massive heart but scared to let her walls down until beautiful Marcus broke the wall down brick by brick and I don’t blame her because what a MAN.
Marcus Marcus Marcus I loved him so much, I loved how much he loved Lily and empowered her and supported her through everything she struggled to overcome. His own struggles and past and he still had so much support and love to give.

This might only be NW Eaton’s second book but she’s done a 5 star job of enemies to lovers. Lily and Marcus are both strong, talented, passionate people and their back and forth banter is brilliantly entertaining.
The ex footballer players now sports reporters, despite their dislike of one another, are continuously drawn to one another. When they’re sent to Spain for a job and staying in conjoining hotel rooms their feelings and attraction shifts. There’s plenty of laughs, spice and emotional scenes. The pace and plot of the story made it easy to read and kept me invested. It’s a great friendship group and I can’t wait for more from this series.

what a great follow on from Fallen!
the characters are so different but also so good. their chemistry was off the charts, their banter was spot on and their journey was amazing. Marcus is so very special but chuck Lily in there and these two are fire!

Lily & Marcus are workplace rivals as such, but the reason is unknown to Marcus(!). Does this stop him? Nope. Operation Lily Love is a GO! *insert smug grin* When forced to work together he slowly chips away at those walls and what we get is nothing short of stunning. Lilys attitude is refreshing. The definition of Boss Lady. She’s sharp, independent, and radiates strength. Despite all the obstacles life has thrown her way, she never lost her spark, or her smile. Marcus’ wasnt all sunshine (those damn geese) and he recognised this. He sees Lily for who she truly is. His support and encouragement had my heart swooning! Their energy was so well matched 🤌🏼 and it made the banter laugh out loud hilarious, to the point I was in tears!!

I couldn’t be happier to have come across this book as one of my arc review reads. Lily and Marcus’ story is one of the best. It’s an enemy to lovers story with close proximity, banter and attitude but in the best ways.
They both lose out on playing soccer, their love for the sport impacting their lives when they can’t play and they are forced to work together but Marcus’ flirty behaviour mixed with Lily’s fiery attitude definitely fires everything up. There are times that I cried.. hard! (Nikki just what are you trying to do to me?!) but this book will leave you giggling to yourself, on the edge of your seats at times and sitting with the biggest grin possible that your mouth will probably hurt!
Once again I’m blown away. Powerless is #2 in the Lasting Impressions series. If you haven’t got it on your TBR I’d highly recommend it and though they can be read as standalone her #1 book Fallen is also worth a read.

She does it again in the second book in the lasting impressions series! I absolutely loved this book and it was a wonderful continuation in this series and the friend group we've grown to love if you've read the first book as well. As I did the first I could not put this book down either it kept me so captivated and invested in the story. NW Eaton is a fantastic story teller and I cannot wait for more books from her!

Marcus and Lily were such a hot and steamy couple! Their chemistry leapt off the pages and had you begging for more. The banter and wit had me giggling like no other! So clever and funny these two! They were absolutely perfect for each other and I loved every minute of it.
I loved Hunter in book one as he is ultimate book boyfriend, but Marcus is definitely right up there alongside Hunter for that spot! He was such a sweetheart and I loved how he just fell in love with Lily. He gave me a bit of golden retriever vibes as well and I especially like that in stories! Who doesn't love a man with an accent, who talks dirty to you and speaks to you in another language. Sign me up please!
Lily was such a firecracker hence the nickname Marcus gave her! I love that she was a fellow redhead, represent! I love how the woman in these stories are so strong, independent and fierce. One of my favorite sayings from Lily was "Calm the f*#@ down, push pop" I laughed so hard at that! Her banter was so clever.
The friends and family in the book is just amazing I love everyone of them! Beck, Trix, etc. I loved Marcus's and Lily's family they were so sweet! I especially loved Kai almost as much as I love Hunter and Marcus! He was amazing in this book and I can't wait to read more about him in the future hopefully! He became like my book best friend so he has to stick around! I enjoyed that we got to have a little bit of Jade and Hunter again too as I missed them!

Both Marcus and Lily work in the same sports TV reporting show and have always butted heads until things started to change. We see them go from disliking each other to falling in love with some heartwreching and emotional journey in-between. It is a beautiful heartwarming read you won't want to miss.
I cannot wait for more stories to come in this series and any stories coming out in the future! I love love these books so add Powerless to your tbr and if you haven't read book one definitely read it too!

When they’re sent to report on an international tournament together it’s only a matter of time before they give in to the insane chemistry between them. As they spend more time together, they both open up about their pasts and the end of their careers and start to build something real. But is it just for now or for forever?
This book had so many of the things I love- enemies to lovers, decent banter between the MCs, insane sexual tension, tragic backstories, and of course, football. Plus Marcus is hot so that’s definitely a plus! Some of the timeline overlaps with book one and I love that! I think Marcus and Hunter are tied for first place because I don’t think I can choose between them. Can’t wait for the rest of the series because this friendship group is goals!!

Loved this sequel to Fallen & the switch in character dynamics to Marcus & Lily. The tension was fire, and the banter was brilliant. Sports presenters were a great career for them to collide, and the whole why does she hate him lingered long enough to keep you guessing. The s3x was provocative & just that bit naughty. I loved that Marcus was Spanish & could dance salsa & had mad love for that scene in particular. Won't spoil anything but did not see the twist coming at all... and now I know NW Eaton will not shy away from huge curve balls! Overall, brilliant. ❤️

Honestly loved this story! Lily had me laughing so much with her snarky comebacks! Marcus had me swooning 🤤and perfect amount of spice. I truly went into this story thinking rivals to lovers but it was really hatred with secret attraction!! 🤣🤣 but honestly I’m in love with this Series!! I loved Fallen but I’m even more in love with Powerless 🥰 6 stars truly 😍 and I don’t give those out lightly 🖤 I highly recommend recommended if you love an FMC with some snarky comebacks 🖤 and MMC who’ll make you fall to your knees 🖤 Thank you Luna Lit for an eARC!

I cannot even begin to describe how much I LOVE this series. The characters, their stories, the friend group. Every. Single. Thing. 🩷🩷
Marcus and Lily, both ex football stars and absolute fire together. I am normally not a huge enemies to lovers fan, but this one was perfect. Not too much hate, just some dislike that lead to incredible banter leading up to the inferno of the two of them together. And the whole thing wasn’t drawn out like is sometimes the case. The story keeps moving and you want to know more.
Marcus is so fabulous and patient and fantastic in every way. And his best friend Kai….I cannot wait for his story. Their friendship is incredible. Not to be outdone, Lily’s friendships-especially Beck- are beautiful and really advance all the characters’ stories.

I totally fell for Lily and Marcus - their banter, their tension, their chemistry… I couldn’t get enough.
Lily has black cat energy down to perfection. She’s sharp, fiery, and the QUEEN of comebacks. I loved how she kept Marcus on his toes every step of the way.
And Marcus?? MY HEART. He’s the definition of a “falls first” hero persistent, charming, bilingual (yes please 😏) and completely smitten. Their workplace romance setup in paradise was the perfect backdrop for all the bickering, tension and eventually… the sweetest, most swoony love story.
The dislike-to-love vibes were immaculate, the banter had me grinning constantly, and then suddenly NW Eaton hits you with these emotional, tender moments that make the whole thing so much deeper.
This couple are just beautifully written and their story had me hooked from start to finish.

I loved the flirting and banter in this book not to mention how spicy it was. Lily was a former football (soccer) player that was injured and it ended her career. Marcus Diaz was also a former player whose career ended early. They both worked for the same broadcasting station. Lily hated Marcus and let him know it. They bickered back and forth. Their banter began to build a friendship. Watching them grow into a relationship was so much fun. Then a traumatic event happens which threatens their relationship. I feel like NW Eaton did a fantastic job building the characters personalities.

This is the second book in the Lasting Impressions Series. It follows two ex footballers, Lily and Marcus who after both suffering career ending injuries end up in the world of sports broadcasting. Ever since they met, Lily has had a hatred for Marcus and he does not seem to know why. As they spend more time together Lily gets to know the real Marcus and their chemistry becomes harder to ignore.
This book is lovely! Lily and Marcus have so much chemistry it just jumps off the page! I had a hard time putting the book down once I started reading! They were so supportive of each other and had so much growth (especially Lily). This book had me laughing, crying (like actual tears, which I don't often do while reading a book) and smiling. The spice starts pretty early and is plentiful (and hot), but I never felt like it overtook the plot. I can't wait to read whatever comes next in the series!

I have no idea what you put in this book but it was absolute a masterpiece. I was staring at a wall for 10 minutes after I read it been like it’s over and I need more of these characters in my life so I definitely cannot wait for the next books to come out as well.
And the mouth on Marcus was not expecting it but I ATE IT UP
This is the second book in the last impression series this this book follows Marcus and Lily and they meet through both being football stars but they both now retired and they have never really gotten along and now that they have to work really closely together
Marcus is always had some sort of interest in Lily but the feeling was definitely not mutual from her part due to not liking based on past experiences
From working together they do form bond especially when they do go to Spain for a month on a work trip and then from there the story really unfold the emotional depth that these two characters have is outstanding. I was crying especially towards the last 20% of the book it was chefs kiss no notes no problems or just an amazing story that was built through Nikki’s writing.
I recommend everyone to read this when it does come out but I also do recommend start with book one which follows Hunter and Jade story just cause they’re there. It is an interconnector standalone but it’s easier to follow through when you have read the first book.

Omg! Ate this up! Love love love the FMC lily, strong, fierce, knows what she wants… and the MMC Marcus… love him, need him. The development of their relationship had me reading on and the banter was everything! And the ending!!!! A must read!

This book was hands down amazing. The banter between Lilly and Marcus made this book! The way her mom knew made me laugh! If you have any doubt on if you should read it the answer is YES!!

This was absolutely brilliant! I literally couldn’t put it down. From their playful banter to that fine line of enemies-to-lovers tension, it hooked me right away. What made it even better was that he had no clue why she didn’t like him—he just knew he was completely head over heels for her.
The emotional rollercoaster this story takes you on is so real. You feel her pain and heartbreak, and you can feel his trauma bleeding through the pages. And with all that emotion comes his dirty, dirty mouth and the fireworks these two set off—just chef’s kiss!
I adored Beck and Kai, and especially the way they support their friends. I cannot wait for them to get their own story (and for Kai to finally find what they have!).
This is a must-read! Since it’s the second book in the series, be sure to start with Fallen (Book 1) first—you won’t regret it.

this was such a beautiful book, the angst, chemistry and banter was top notch.
after all Lily and Marcus have been through, im so glad it ended the way it did.
I need a book 3.. as soon as possible! this is quickly becoming my favourite series!

Marcus and Lily had the chemistry and banter all rolled up into their relationship. That didn’t mean they instantly fell in love. There might have been some hate thrown in there. These two made the book a page turner. I couldn’t wait to see what they would do.

Lily and Marcus are both retired footballers who have left the game due to injuries. They work together at a sports network and Lily hates Marcus. He doesn't understand why our fiery redhead hates him and makes every effort to try to charm her. Oh boy is he charming!
Their first 'romantic' encounter is at the end of the gala from the first book 'Fallen'. One night to get it out of their systems. 🤔
The network then sends them to Spain (Marcus's home country) to cover a European tournament. Yes, they have adjoining rooms 😏
As the tournament progresses so does their relationship, both on and off screen. The banter is insane (how my Kindle didn't melt I have no idea). I loved the balance between the firey moments and the tender ones. Watching the characters grow throughout the book, especially Lily, was truly beautiful. Marcus really brings out the best in her but she's a Firecracker on her own!
There's some lovely cameos from Beck, Trixie (there's a very revealing phone call) and a few others with a couple of new characters, too. I love Kai.
Warning, the last 20% of the book is a rollercoaster. Please hold on!

Well this book certainly takes you on a ride!!

And then just when you thought things were getting good for the both of them, the story then suddenly rips your heart out, stomps on it for abit, before putting it back in and apologising for the inconvenience.
An absolutely fantastic read which certainly brought tears to my eyes are times.

There are times when I wish we could have more stars than five, and this is one of them! I did not think Nikki could one up herself. *NEWS FLASH* She totally did. Lily is everything. She is full of snark, zero quit, bravery, and perseverance. Marcus is the literal perfect MMC for her. He loves every piece of her. We all want someone to love us the way he loves Lily. I also really love how Nikki always has diverse characters in her books. If you haven’t read Fallen or Powerless you a missing out. This is in my top reads for 2025!
