How much of memory is truth, and how much is a story we tell ourselves?
No longer a prisoner of Valen’s compulsion, Georgia’s mind is restored. But her memories of everyone around her are at war. Which Valen is the real one? The Valen who does Gregor’s murderous bidding or the one whose heated touch makes her question everything? Which Juno is her sister? The Juno who was always there for her, or the Juno who betrayed her?
Nothing is clear except the inevitable end. Hope dwindles as humanity’s future fades into endless night, but Georgia refuses to give up. Her dogged determination may be the only thing standing between the world and annihilation. But saving lives in this dark new world has a high price, and more often than not, it’s paid in blood.

I have been obsessed with this series since I started it. This third book seemed rushed and just kind of fell short? I still enjoyed it because I love these characters and this world. Just sort of disappointed.
This book is good. I do wish it was longer, but still really good. I know a lot of people on book 2 felt it was too long (among other things I personally didn’t agree with. Just because books have similarities doesn’t mean anything. I read books all the time that are very similar to other books) personally I didn’t. I enjoyed the length of book 2. Idk if that is why book 3 was shorter. For me it was a shame because this book was exciting, fast paced, and so good. I really could’ve done easily with another 100 pages. But that’s me. I enjoyed book 1 so much. Book 2 was great, and really I did love this book. The biggest drawback for me on this one was length which made it feel kind of rushed towards the end (which is why the book got a 4 instead of 5 stars). I can say this was a great experience with this author and I won’t shy away from her work in the future if I come across anything that I decide looks interesting. Nice wrap up to the story.
This dystopian paranormal romance is book 3 in the Fall of Dawn series. This book does have darker scenes and themes. This is the conclusion of the series. The romance in this book is an emotionally pre established relationship from previous books. This book does have open door spice. Georgia remembers. She wants to continue where she left off, and find a cure and to destroy the vampire. Except now she is confused on what’s real, her memory, or captivity. All she knows for sure is the end is coming, and she has to be ready. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 📱
If you’ve read Celia Aaron before, you know it’s going to be rough, but worth it.
Idk what to say. If you love truly dark tales, you’ll love it. The content warnings are necessary; take them seriously. The first book is probably the darkest and most disturbing; if you can get through it then you can get through the series. The third even has some light moments. We get queer and disabled rep without that being the entirety of their characters, but an argument could be made that they fall into some tropes.*
The romance itself is not particularly dark, as dark romances go; it’s the surrounding circumstances that are truly dark. More details at the end of the review, if you’re unsure.
Overall, I’m glad I read it, and it was worth my time.
Some mild spoilers: To be more specific (and a little spoiler-y) about the relative darkness of the series: Valen is brutal but everything he does is to protect Georgia. This much is clear relatively early on. He’s rough with her and at times a little mean to her, but it’s par for the course for dark romances. If you regularly read dark romances it will not be particularly shocking to you.
*Re: representation, there’s a little bit of the “kill your gays/disabled” trope, but frankly there are a lot of people dying, and their deaths have nothing to do with their queerness or disability status.
So I have been in love with this trio from book 1.
Not SPOILERS really, but suggestions of spoilers so here is the warning ⚠️
I love the way Celia finished off this series. I loved the reality that our MMC is truly a morally black vampire- who is only concerned with his “Kedves verem” & makes no apologies.
Georgia owning her actions in the final act was a “oh hell yeah” moment for me. That’s EXACTLY what I wanted. And a few Valen pov chapters I was like kicking my feet, I had hoped we’d get some and we did!
My only criticisms:
id of liked it if we got a bit more on the vampires who were involved in resistance at end. Just where the F is Druin/David? Coal? Did we relocate melody ? I don’t want her memorial left at that Theo infused hellhole
Maybe some more in-depth explanation of final moments since it was a bit frantic I wasn’t sure what was up or down. Felt like a sudden end to a battle I was expecting to be a tad more intense. It felt slightly rushed is all.
But overall I am super happy and it’s getting all 5 stars. Celia is a great writer. These will be in my reread pile and treasured as I just loved the love of it.
I was so excited to read this third instalment and I devoured it! I found the tension was unbearable in some parts, real ‘bite your nails’ time 😬 but I just lost myself in the story which was gripping and full of suspense.
I absolutely adored Valen, he is now in my harem of book boyfriends and Georgia is certainly one of my favourite FMC’s without a doubt. They are so good together *sigh* and the secondary characters, Wyatt and Evie, were fantastic. I was very happy with the ending although I didn’t think it was going to end like it did when the confrontation with Gregor happened.
