After making his mark as an award-winning journalist and science writer in Uruguay, Rogelio Fojo made a bold leap into the world of filmmaking. He honed his craft in Los Angeles, working on a wide range of productions and earning a Kodak grant to direct his debut film, Chimera, which went on to win Best Film at the Pasadena Film Festival. That early success led him to the IFP/West Project mentoring program and onto the set of Buying the Cow, a Hollywood comedy starring Ryan Reynolds.
Since then, Rogelio has continued telling stories through film, directing the award-winning shorts Mary and The Movie Pitch. In 2018, he directed The Stooge, a fan-favorite at NOVACON 50, written by Christopher Priest (The Prestige) and featuring sci-fi icons Robert Picardo (Star Trek) and Pat Scott as well as magicians Pop Haydn and Carissa Hendrix.
Now, he's blending his love for speculative fiction and cinema in One Million Times — a genre-bending sci-fi anthology about the effect of magic illusions in time travel, developed in collaboration with NASA/JPL scientist Richard Doyle. The book, published by Elsewhen Press, features also original stories from acclaimed authors, and a stunning cover by Chris “Fangorn” Baker (first revealed at WORLDCON Glasgow in 2024). A screen adaptation is also in the works, with Rogelio eyeing a transatlantic production to bring this time-hopping vision to life.
When he's not writing or filming, he’s exploring the edges of science, storytelling, and where the two collide. One Million Times is Rogelio's first published volume.
Rogelio Fojo and Richard Doyle, along with guest authors, combine science and magic to create a unique anthology of time travel stories. Common threads run through each piece – mysterious trails of clues and symbolism – which weave together beautifully in the final tale. One Million Times is a visual feast for the mind, and with its intriguing take on time travel, these stories will remain with you for a long time.
