The Kelmar army has invaded the Federated Kingdoms. Allied with the Keepers, Mar's most powerful servants, they are driving the Federation's army before them, intent on exterminating the kings of the Alomar. Lauren now has the Lawbreaker's ring and sword but he has no idea what powers might be locked within them. Even with the ring and the sword and with the armies of the Alomar and the Eldar behind him, can a minstrel hope to stand against the might of the goddess Mar and the Keepers of the Alomar?
Larry Z. Daily was born in Covington, Kentucky and currently resides in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and teaches psychology classes at Shepherd University. The Chronicles of the Lawbreaker is his first foray into fiction and is the result of a decades long love of fantasy inspired by Tolkien, Ursula K. Le Guin, Patricia McKillip, and Mary Stewart. In his spare time Larry builds HO scale model trains, plays folk music on six- and twelve-string guitars, and devours fantasy novels.
A Song of Grief and a Song of Creation delivers a sweeping, character-driven continuation of the Lawbreaker saga. Larry Z. Daily blends high-stakes warfare, divine power, and personal uncertainty in a way that feels both epic and intimate. Lauren’s struggle to understand the ring and sword while facing enemies backed by a goddess adds real emotional weight, and the tension between prophecy, responsibility, and survival keeps the story gripping throughout. Fans of classic high fantasy with strong lore and rising danger will find this entry deeply satisfying.
