One unforgettable summer, 50-year-old Natalie's world is turned upside down when her husband abandons her and their children, moving to another state without looking back. As she struggles to piece her life together, Natalie stumbles upon an unexpected revelation-her long-dormant libido is begging to be revived. Just as she begins navigating the challenges of her newly single life, a magnetic and passionate stranger reaches out to her on a dating app. He opens the door to a world of longing, pleasure, and connection that Natalie had only dared to dream about. What follows is an emotional and sensual journey of lust, friendship, and the rediscovery of Natalie's deepest desires.
This was…. Well it was what it was. & not at all what I was expecting.
It is extremely vulnerable to release a text thread like this. I have so many thoughts and comments on SO much… but since this isn’t fiction I’m going to keep those to myself.
… a whole list of my realtime thoughts. But they read like a judgmental gossip so in my Notes app they will stay.
The whole ‘book’ is written in text bubble format. So that was different. Kinda weird, kinda cool!
This book was neither good nor bad. It just was. Hence the mid rating. It’s essentially based on true events (it’s quite literally a a woman’s texting conversation with a guy she matches with from a dating site over the span of a few weeks).
If you’ve ever matched with a very forward guy on a dating app, chances are you’ve already experienced your own real life text thread very similar to this one!
That being said, even though this book is available for purchase on kindle, it is NOT compatible with the actual kindle device. I had to read it through the kindle app on my phone. It wouldn’t even download on my kindle. Said the file wasn’t compatible with the device. (Probably because of the text bubble formatting.) So keep that in mind if you do decide to purchase this book to read it. There is also the paperback version of this book available on Amazon, but in my personal opinion, it is not worth the retail price being $50… if it was $20, then I’d be more comfortable recommending you to purchase it to give it a try to see if you like it. But $50 is way too much for a gamble lol. I paid $7 ish for the kindle version and was a bit disappointed I had to read it solely on my phone. But oh well! I was intrigued by the book when I saw someone (Ericka) post about it on TikTok and now I’ve experienced it, so all good!
You Alone? pulled me in and didn't let go. I found myself completely wrapped up in Natalie and Nic's story - so much so that I stayed up way too late just to read one more chapter. Their connection was not only steamy and sensual, but also emotionally compelling. Watching their bond deepen felt like stepping into a fantasy, one where passion and vulnerability collide in the most captivating way. What really struck me was how Nic brought warmth and light into Natalie's life during such a vulnerable time. As someone who's been through my own share of emotional upheaval, I found their bond incredibly moving. It reminded me how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and desired, even when everything else feels uncertain. This book is more than just hot and steamy (though it definitely delivers on that front!) - it's a story about healing, rediscovery, and the kind of connection that makes your heart race. I didn't just read their story - I felt it.
