Wisdom of the Earth, Wisdom of the Body offers an in depth exploration of the intersection of Chinese Medicine and Yoga. This book was rich with information on how to align to the seasons, incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and yoga philosophy.

As someone new to yoga and that has a vague understanding of TCM, I thought this book was incredible. Each chapter is packed with a lot of information about the body and its wisdom pertaining to the seasons. How different organs and energy channels can benefit from this harmonization is the main focus of this book. I will definitely be purchasing this book as it is an incredible guide on how to align with nature for optimal healing. It can be used as a reference guide or as a spiritual text to deepen one's practice to the natural rhythms of life.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a free arc via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Wisdom of the Earth, Wisdom of the Body by Jennifer Raye is a unique reference and guide. The information is good. The ideas are rooted in the careful blending and synthesis of many disciplines, traditions, and spiritual approaches to holistic health. I intend to purchase a copy of the physical book because this work will serve best as a reference now and in the future. The decision to have the author narrate this work created a missed opportunity, which is the reason that I am giving the Audible Audio edition of this book three stars instead of 4. I would recommend the audio edition of this book to fans of the author and the book itself to instructors and mentors within the various disciplines and traditions that are described and detailed in the book.

Did Not Finish

My first real introduction to TCM. Read for my yoga book club but didn't quite finish in time. Didn't see much point in finishing it once I went to the discussion session.

I appreciated that the author drew from other traditions to show parallels between them, but honestly that was about the only thing in the book I found very instructive.
