It’s always fun to read collections by debut authors and try to predict who will become famous someday! My favorites included Burrowing Creatures (magical realism), a gentle story about a boy and his father who plant scissors in the ground so that their barber business can grow, and Lovesick (speculative fiction), set in a future where couples take blue pills to ensure they remain attracted to each other and yellow pills to make certain they’re not attracted to anyone else.
