So Charlie Travers finds himself with a very big problem. He has to find out if the Zha’-Rath have invaded Earth. But he can’t give away that he’s there or even in the Solar System. If he shows up anywhere in the Solar System aboard one of the Liberators, the Zha’-Rath would be instantly alerted and he doesn’t know what they would do. He does know they plan to conquer Earth and use its inhabitants as embryos for their young! That can’t happen as far as Charlie is concerned.
He has to some how come up with a plan that will allow him and a small team to infiltrate Earth to find out just what is going on. They know that there are no communications leaving Earth for whatever reason. The comm satellite he had placed in orbit so he and Earth could communicate has gone silent. He doesn’t know if it just broke or if the Zha’-Rath have taken it down, but they can detect a lot of jamming. That by itself is a good indicator that the Zha’-Rath are some where around.
So he decides to take a Vanguard fighter along with Giblet just to check things out. They don’t find any Zha’-Rath ships flying around in space so that means they’re going to have to go to Plan B. This plan was going to allow them to go all the way to Earth hopefully not getting detected. They were going to use another Vanguard but below it would be a shuttle magnetically attached. It would jump in behind the moon, release the shuttle and then quickly jump out. The shuttle had stealth capabilities so they could then fly it and land some where on Earth to really find out what was going on.
Charlie was going to take Laranna, Chuck, Fellicia and Amaranth. Laranna, Felicia and Amaranth were all going to have to be temporarily surgically changed to look like humans since Laranna was a green lady Strada warrior, Fellicia was a Copperell, and Amaranth was a Varnell. The Varnell were specifically critical to this mission in that they were not as susceptible to Zha’-Rath mind control as were the other species. Amaranth was in particular a very strong willed Varnell and she could break any control the Zha’-Rath might try to put on the humans. That was probably going to happen a lot if the Zha’-Rath were in fact on Earth.
The plan worked as far as it goes. Interestingly, Charlie had chosen to land at Holloman Air Force Base outside Alamogordo, New Mexico. This was where Earth was building its own shuttles and space fighters so one more shuttle wouldn’t look out of place. The person Charlie wanted to talk to was Kennet, the Copperell who was in-charge of all this building. Charlie wanted his take on anything unusual on Earth. Had he been given any strange or disconnected orders or heard anything strange on the news.
Kennet did say that his request to have the relay satellite repaired had been ignored for two-weeks now, which was certainly strange. Then he said that the President was now talking about an attack on the aircraft carrier *USS Gerald Ford* . The Russians were accused of making the attack which they were denying. Charlie sat in Kennet’s office watching President John Louis make the announcement, but the person he saw was way different than the John Louis Charlie had met on numerous occasions. This John Louis looked like he was sick. Deathly pale and almost starving. President Louis was saying that he was prepared to retaliate against the Russians with all the assets at his disposal and he was going to do that soon!
Obviously, Charlie felt that something was off about the President. He soon finds out that the President and the First Lady along with Parker Donovan, the National Security Advisor had been secluding themselves deep in the underground bunkers of the White House. No had seen the President for several days since the announcement of the attack.
Charlie realizes that the President and First Lady have been captured by the Zha’-Rath and they are being controlled from the White House bunker. He and his group were definitely going to have to conduct a rescue mission but he didn’t know how many Zha’-Rath Masters might be hiding in that bunker. Charlie was also suspecting that other Zha’-Rath were probably pulling string in Moscow and were the ones behind the attack on the *USS Gerald Ford.* So, not only was he going to have to rescue the President, but also prevent a nuclear war!
There will be a lot going on in this book. Charlie can’t just keep defeating the Zha’-Rath one at a time. He has to find if there is someone or something in-charge of it all. He has heard the Zha’-Rath speak of the Unity so he needs to find out what that’s about and see if it could be the source of all these attacks. He just doesn’t know if he has enough forces to do the job. Even with all the Earth’s Special Forces and other military, they could all be controlled by the Zha’-Rath and if so, Charlie is not going to be successful, no way, no how!
I don’t know if this is the end of the series or not. It seems like there’s always one more enemy for Charlie Travers and his group go after so I would expect more to come.

Good series all the way thru, but ..
I would love to give this five stars but I read all the way through all the books and have everything neatly tied up in three pages without any exposition is garbage. It's something I love and hate about partlow... I was hoping it is partnership with Cheney would temper that but apparently no you get through 12 books and you get nothing about the characters you followed for 3,000 pages you just get told the good guys won have a nice day and bye. I just don't like it and I was hoping for better of this series and I was wrong otherwise it was a really good read.

DAMMIT!
The action was Enormous! The plot was secure. Nothing l could say was wrong. I am Not an intellectual. I dont have the intelligence to take each and every plot and subplot apart and comment on every happening. I just thoroughly enjoyed this episode! I kept wondering how they were going to get through each and every crisis. But they Did! But l was wanting more at the ending. A good stopping place tho. Always leave them wanting more is the phrase we live with. Gentlemen, I WANT MORE! please?

A number of revelations reveal the plan for Earth as well as more about the enemy they now face.
Battles, suspense, intrigue, battles, surprises, sacrifices, and did i mention battles? abound in this action-packed novel.

Good Read
Charlie and friends are back near Earth trying to find out if the Zar’-Rath, the mind controlling alien insects bent on taking over another galaxy), have made it to Earth itself yet! Things don’t seem right…. Are they too late? Are they walking into a trap? Does it matter? No! It has to be “All in”. Either they end the invasion here or the galaxy will end. No pressure!

A truly enjoyable read.
As with all series written by J.N. Chaney whomever the collaborating author might be, they are always top notch and well worth reading. In this particular instance with Rick Partlow, this series is especially mesmerizing. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

wraps up everything rather nicely
