This is a profound and poetic contribution to the literature of self-renewal and spiritual growth. It offers the reader a way to shift from an intellectual relationship to spiritual teachings toward a process which leads to the discovery that everything we feel has wisdom no matter what we have come to believe. There are references to many great spiritual traditions. Original and inspired meditations are included.
I just read about Schwartz in an essay/interview in The Sun. His philosophy appeals to me because it seems to be very similar to Thomas Moore's: maybe we should stop trying to transcend our humanity, chastising ourselves when we can't reach some impossible ideal, instead we can accept and embrace our humanity.
