Madeline had one simple throw a fun housewarming party. A little music, a few drinks, some harmless flirting. What she didn't plan for? Stephanie, the human embodiment of chaos showing up with her shady, drama-magnet of an ex-boyfriend in tow. The tension? Immediate. The disaster? Unavoidable. And before anyone can yell, "Whose idea was this?!", the night takes a turn for a really bad-sirens-blaring, cops-at-the-door, life-ruining bad. Now? Instead of worrying about the prom or finals, Madeline is at the center of the biggest trail her town has ever seen. The media is eating it up, strangers are picking sides, and the people she thought were her friends. Some are sticking by her, but others are jumping ship real fast. Secrets are coming out, betrayals are stacking up, and the truth? That's just whatever the jury decides it is. As the trial drags, Madeline begins to question the justice system. Because, in the real world, it's not about innocence or guilt, it's about who can play the game better. "The CHAOS Effect" is a funny, fast-paced story of betrayal, justice, and the brutal reality that sometimes, the worst peolpe get away while the innocent get wrecked.

Are there 2 Jessica Payne authors ? Because this book was NOT IT.
Biggest waste of time, there was no point to this book. Did I read it in one day ? Yes.-only because there was literally nothing to absorb. This book was misleading , horrible and all over the place. Maybe this book was a joke? I don’t know why I am so upset about how bad this book is; maybe because my expectations were too high.
