To say that I was highly anticipating this book would be an understatement. This author’s On the Island is one of my all-time favorites (re-read it multiple times) so I wanted to read this book as soon as I got my greedy hands on it. Did she disappoint? No. In the most realistic and relatable fashion, the author has delivered a heartwarming yet equally heartbreaking story about the magic of second chances, the strength of friendships, and the unity of family bonds. While I had some issues about a few things, I can definitely say that this is a book that will resonate with every reader on some level and helps put life into perspective. In one word, this book is real.

Single mother and nurse Daisy DiStefano juggles a full-time job and taking care of her three-year old son Elliott when she receives the news that her beloved grandmother Pauline was killed. Not knowing the reason why she was targeted and murdered, her death really becomes an eye-opener for Daisy as she navigates through the painful aftermath – from arranging the funeral to taking steps to protect Elliott to moving forward with their lives, never really getting closure.
Around the same time, bright investigative reporter Brooks McClain returns to Daisy’s town to spend time with his terminally ill mother. His first case as a reporter in the town is to investigate Pauline’s death and starts to dig around, pitting him face to face with Daisy. At first, there is a firm witness-reporter boundary between them but as the investigation continues and the two of them really take the time to know each other, their relationship dynamic changes. For him, Daisy’s not a job anymore and for her, Brooks isn’t just a persistent reporter.

I think one aspect to consider before picking up this book is that it’s not just a romantic suspense story. While that book genre was the original premise, the story itself evolved into something different – instead of being suspenseful, the book was more romantic. More family and relationship-based. More women’s fiction. I didn’t like how bland the suspense was – it was pretty obvious who and why Pauline was killed. However, I did like how the author focused a lot of attention on family and friendships. That is perhaps the strongest part of this book and what really made the story resonate with me. The writing is also fantastic – this author has a way of making even the smallest things have an impact and so I felt like my heart was being squeezed while reading.
As much as I liked this book, it just didn’t hit all my 5 star buttons. It’s really hard for me to read this book and not make comparisons to On the Island. I don’t think any other book of hers could ever surpass that one and while I cared about the two main characters in this book, I just wasn’t emotionally invested in them or their relationship like I was when I read about TJ & Anna. Surprisingly, the one character that I felt for the most was
I think longtime fans will be pleased with this book and anyone in the mood for a slow-building romance that also has a side focus about family and friendships would enjoy this story.

Weellll, Hmmmmm,
My advice to anyone about to start this book would be to go ahead and add that extra shot of espresso or two to your morning drink, you are going to need it! To say this book is slow is a huge understatement. My poor friend Ada was falling asleep at the 12% mark.
It wasn't the fact that the book was slow that bothered me, it was the unnecessary, exhausting amount of time she spent on boring details no one reading this is going to care about. For example, the heroine Daisy enrolled in a handgun safety class and practice session. This was me after reading endless details about this class,
I mean, if I cared about that, I would be reading some literature from the NRA, not a romance novel! This was around the time I was tempted to start skimming, because I needed something interesting to happen between the main characters. The romance part of the book was sadly completely underdeveloped and just blah. Also, the majority of the story line that you know is coming if you read the blurb, was crammed into the very end of the book.
I have to say that I read this book because I am a huge fan of On the Island. I loved that book and the main characters TJ and Anna with all my heart. I also loved Uncharted. Unfortunately, I was completely emotionless with this one. There was no chemistry, no sexual tension, very little interesting dialogue. It's hard to love a book if you don't feel connected to the characters.

I don't normally like OTT drama but come on I didn't wanna read about her day to day everyday life. Where was the romance? Where was the suspense? I could accept no steam if I liked the characters but I found them so dull. No connection. No sexual tension. Just nothing.
This book was completely different to On the Island (which I loved) I'm wondering if it really is the same author. Maybe it might suit non romance lovers better. Not for me!

I was bored out of my mind
Unmemorable and bland characters, mundane and passionless romance and plot lacking excitement. The suspense was … well, there wasn’t any.
Add to that pages and pages filled with descriptions of monotonous everyday life.
Even sweet little Elliot (Daisy’s three years old son) couldn’t manipulate me to like this book, but not through lack of trying.
If I have to say something positive - there were some good moments around the 90% mark.

Foooof.
This was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooow.
I've never, ever thought a book was slow in a negative way.
Usually I enjoy slow reads, when everyone is complaining that a book is slow, I'm like 'shuddup, I like it like that!'
The story was so slow, I was nodding off.
That said I loved the writing, though slow, the author is talented. I also liked how realistic the book was. If felt genuine. The emotions and characters felt like normal people, it all felt like something that could really happen.
It just needed some drama, some sexual tension, some banter, SOMETHING to lift it off the floor.

I was lucky enough to read the manuscript of Every Time I Think of You in April and again in July. Tracey asked me to be one of her beta readers and I was thrilled to get a chance to read her next book and give some feedback. I was going to sit down and do a full review but then I realized that I can't possibly be unbiased when it comes to this book. I've been so wrapped up in it that I think it would be really difficult to stand outside and be objective. Having said all that, I think you all should read this book. :) A lot of our readers often ask us for recommendations for books with older characters who are out of their teens and 20s. This will be for you. The romance takes its time to develop which makes it all so believable. There is suspense, love, sexy times, humour, heartbreak and one of the cutest little kids you will ever meet (fictionally). I can't wait for you to read it.

I have to tell you guys… I love reading about characters that are in my age group. Characters who have lived a little bit and experienced things…. Characters that I can relate to on some level because we may have more in common than someone in their teens… Characters who feel so real and alive that I feel like I could open my door and look down the street and find them. Tracey Garvis-Graves writes characters just like that and with Every Time I Think of You, she’s done it again.
Daisy DiStefano hasn’t had an easy go of things lately. There are two people in her life that she worries and cares about most … her grandmother who raised her and her 3 year old son Elliott. Everyone else takes a back seat. But when the unthinkable happens, what appears to be a random break in, and her grandmother is murdered with Elliott hiding in the other room, Daisy has to figure out how to protect the only person left in her life that matters.
Brooks McClain is from the small town of Fenton, but as soon as he could he left and never looked back. Landing in San Francisco he’s got a thriving career working for the San Francisco Chronicle writing breaking news stories. He never thought he’d be going back to his hometown, but his mother’s diagnosis of Lou Gehrig’s disease and her quick deterioration has him taking a leave of absence and returning to help his father in any way that he can. Taking a leave of absence from his job in San Francisco he gets brought on as an investigative reporter at the Desert News, and before he can even get settled he’s called in for his first assignment… find out what he can about the homicide at the Sunset Vista Apartment complex.
Brooks and Daisy have a slow build to their relationship… while there is some instant chemistry between them, they are both focused on other things at the beginning. Daisy’s focus falls on doing whatever she can to protect herself and her son, because no matter what, she doesn’t feel like her grandmother’s death was random… and neither does Brooks. For Daisy, besides moving into a new place, and reinforcing doors and windows, it also means purchasing a gun and getting educated about it. And I totally loved how Tracey worked this into the story. Not only was it an interesting aspect to the story, she portrayed Daisy as completely responsible while doing so. This wasn’t just some whim that the character felt, she educated herself about it and made sure she did everything legally and responsibly.
Brooks, while definitely feeling an attraction to Daisy, has other worries. His mother for sure, and even his father and the stress and sadness that his mother’s illness has caused for him but he’s also determined to get to the bottom of this story, because he knows that this wasn’t random.
As histories get revealed, both Daisy and Brooks build a friendship… one that they realize can go no further, because Brooks is going back to San Francisco and Daisy has someone who depends on her to make rational and reasonable decisions and that doesn’t include tying herself emotionally to a relationship that can’t go anywhere.
Garvis-Graves has done an amazing job with these characters. From Daisy to Elliott to Brooks and even to Pauline, the deceased grandmother, and Scott the ex-husband, I just feel like they could walk off the page and be fully developed people.
This story has an element of suspense to it as well, and I thought that it was really well done. Garvis-Graves did a great job of slowly revealing all the clues and reasons as to why this tragedy happens… but then she throws in an additional twist that will have you reeling in surprise. Something I definitely didn’t expect to happen.
The only complaint I truly had was this… for me, sometimes the dialogue felt a bit stilted and the interactions were a bit abrupt between Brooks and Daisy. Which was totally understandable when they were in the getting to know you phase, but as their feelings and relationship grew, I felt like that should have dissipated a bit but I didn’t really see that happen. The dialogue at times remained a bit clunky, though not enough to keep me from reading and enjoying the story.
If you’re looking for something in the adult fiction genre… something that has suspense and romance… something that will keep you turning the pages to find out who did what and why, definitely consider picking What I Thought Was True up as soon as it’s released. You can’t go wrong with anything from Tracey Garvis-Graves! I promise! I honestly can't wait to see what Tracey has coming for us readers next!

Let's say this book is sweet and cute :)
Brooks and Daisy are two sweet couples who have gone through a lot in their life and it makes me smile to read about their maturity. The author has done a good job by not including any cliche plots and insecurities which is not needed :D
Brooks is a reporter who for his parents sake relocates to a small town :) its a pretty sweet gesture ^^
And Daisy is a single with a mom who is caught in between crime and protecting her son and herself

So here Brooks is present to report the crime for his newspaper and here is where he meets Daisy... but here is the thing its not love at first sight.
We could safely say that both didn't even pay attention to each other to even remember how the others appearance is *that's so refreshing :P*
The love gradually develops and both the couples handled the situation so beautifully :D
Brooks relationship towards Elliot *its beautiful* (esp there is a scene where Elliot tells Brook that he is Elliot's father and not Scott)
There is one scene where Elliot sleeps on Brooks (the scene is so heart warming)
I need to mention that I really felt for Scott in certain places cause he had genuinely been a nice man and truly loved his family *SIGH*

I was given an ARC of this book.
Daisy DiStefano is a single mom who works as a nurse and lives with her beloved grandmother, who raised her after Daisy's parents and sister died. Daisy is divorced from her husband after he became addicted to crystal meth. When Daisy's grandmother is murdered, a handsome local reporter named Brooks with a difficult family story of his own becomes interested in the case -- and in Daisy and her son.
This story grabbed me from the beginning. Tracey Garvis-Graves has managed to write a book that combines romance, family ties, murder and mystery with a deft touch. Daisy is a fully realized woman: tough, sensitive, caring and also suspicious. She knows she may have been the intended target, not her grandmother, and will go to extreme lengths to protect herself and her son. Brooks, as the reporter who becomes entangled with Daisy romantically, is smart and sophisticated. He's an alpha male without being overbearing, and he respects Daisy's decisions. Their romance is a slow burn but they're both adults.
Tracey Garvis-Graves has a delicate touch as a writer; she's able to show without telling. She is even able to invoke some sympathy for Daisy's meth-head ex-husband. No character is perfect; everyone is human and flawed. I honestly wanted the book to continue and follow the characters forever just because the reader gets such an intimate look at their lives. I didn't want it to end!
5 stars, and I'd love a follow up novella about any of the characters.

This story grabbed me from the beginning. Tracey Garvis-Graves has managed to write a book that combines romance, family ties, murder and mystery with a deft touch. Daisy is a fully realized woman: tough, sensitive, caring and also suspicious. She knows she may have been the intended target, not her grandmother, and will go to extreme lengths to protect herself and her son. Brooks, as the reporter who becomes entangled with Daisy romantically, is smart and sophisticated. He's an alpha male without being overbearing, and he respects Daisy's decisions. Their romance is a slow burn but they're both adults.
Tracey Garvis-Graves has a delicate touch as a writer; she's able to show without telling. She is even able to invoke some sympathy for Daisy's meth-head ex-husband. No character is perfect; everyone is human and flawed. I honestly wanted the book to continue and follow the characters forever just because the reader gets such an intimate look at their lives. I didn't want it to end!
5 stars, and I'd love a follow up novella about any of the characters.

I was lucky enough to have read Tracey's manuscript and this is the best book she has written so far. I felt like I was a character in the book and that I knew Daisy well. I read this during a difficult time and it was just what I needed. I laughed, I cried, I sighed and I can't wait for it to come out so I can read it again! If you like a good women's fiction book, pre-order "Every Time I Thank of You" so you can read it on day one!!! I LOVED this book.

This is Graves best book yet. It reads very well. The characters are well developed and the reader is wanting to learn more about them. Graves drops clues about where the story may go and then makes it very interesting to see how the story actually gets there. Every Time I Think of You is equal parts detective thriller and love story. It was easy and fun to read, and hard to put down. I look forward to her next novel.

Another page-turner, and the first book I have read by this New York Times Best Selling Author. I loved this book and can't wait to read more of her stories.

There were so many things I enjoyed and a few events that were a little over the top, but overall, Tracey Garvis-Graves has some serious writing chomps!! I loved the mystery element and the chemistry between Daisy and Brooks was incredible and I adored them together. After just reading Covet, I'm diving into all her books! (Cherish is up next!)

This novel started with a bang, then sputtered for awhile, then picked up steam again for a strong finish. Every Time I Think of You is part romance (mostly romance) and part murder mystery. The who-done-it is obvious, but you still want to know how and why. The characters, Brooks and Daisy, are sweet and relatable. I became a little tired of the toddler voice of Elliot, though.
I've read several novels by Tracey Garvis Graves now, and while this one isn't my favorite, it's a solid. I enjoy her books a lot. They make great vacation reads!

I love Tracey Garvis Graves, and I really like this story. The narrators were good as well.
What I love so much about this author is how the conflicts are realistic and the characters are mature. There’s nothing fake or ridiculous about the storyline or dialogue. And I can’t get enough of TGG’s writing!

Carino ma decisamente non il migliore dell'autrice. Troppe pagine per arrivare finalmente ad una svolta in una storia talmente perfetta da sembrare inverosimile. La scrittura scorre veloce e ci sono della parti molto dolci, ma sfido io a trovare una madre single che non ha un attimo di nervoso verso un figlio piccolo e soprattutto, davvero un bambino di 3 anni può parlare così male??

It's no surprise that I'm a fan of Garvis-Graves' writing, but I'll admit that I don't read many romantic suspense novels. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't read many. I felt a little more enthusiastic about this book though. I had faith that this story would not only be well thought out, but that these would be characters I would fall in love with. And I did.
I want to start off by talking about how the book begins. It starts off in Elliot's point of view, hearing his great-grandmother being murdered. He's Daisy's son and he's only three years old. Immediately, I was swept up in the story. My youngest son is three and I just kept picturing Elliot as my son. These little ones absorb much more than we realize and I felt that Garvis-Graves did an amazing job at keeping Elliot's character true to his age, but he also provided incredible insight to the story.
Moving on from there, we meet Daisy and Brooks. Daisy is obviously stunned by her grandmother's death. I felt that she grieved, but Daisy knows there more to her grandmother's death. Her ex-husband is a drug addict and there were some questionable things that had happened between them, which made Daisy question her and Elliot's safety. She didn't live in fear per se, but she took matters into her own hands and learned how to protect herself and her son. From a mother's stand point, I understood that need completely. Yes, there is a time to grieve, but when you have children...you process that grief in a different way. I saw Daisy as a strong, loving and intuitive woman that I could definitely relate to.
Then there's Brooks McClain. He's a journalist who comes into town right after the crime occurs. He's there to help care for his ailing mother, but he's also working for the local paper. After getting his assignment, Brooks immediately gets to work on this story. What I loved about Brooks was that he was thoughtful and he was truly a strong man. I'm a fan of Alpha males and I would put Brooks into that category, but there is a quiet strength to Brooks that I found even more sexy than the typical broody Alpha that's often written. I felt that he really cared about the people affected by the murder. Naturally, as Daisy and Brooks spend more time together, feelings grow. I appreciated the fact that a relationship between them didn't happen over night. They both had personal issues to deal with and I felt that the gradual progression of their relationship was realistic under the circumstances.
The story is told in multiple point of views and I felt that it really helped unravel the story. Not only do we get Daisy, Brooks, and Elliot's point of views, but we also get Scott, Daisy's ex and Elliot's father's, POV. His addiction truly took over his life and it gave me an interesting perspective on the story.
I want to touch on the romance. Yes, the suspense element is strong, but the slow burn romance between Brooks and Daisy was exciting to watch. And I do feel as though I watched this story play out. Over the course of several months, their romance blossomed into something worth making sacrifices for. It was a mature, loving and yes, even sexy relationship.
Every Time I Think of You was another diamond read for me. A priceless jem. The attention to detail was astounding. The story unfolds naturally and I found myself completely captivated from the very first page. Garvis-Graves has delivered another gorgeous, unique, well thought out, story that I will always treasure.

I was SO excited about this one! I read both of Tracey's books - "On the Island" and "Covet" and LOVED both of them. They were very different from one another yet each had a beautiful love story, with characters you really could relate to and "feel". So it was really natural that I didn't even read the synopsis of this one before adding it to my reading list. I actually DID read the synopsis before I started to read this one and the one thing that really bothered me was sadly one of the reasons I didn't finish this book... yeah.. the kid..
I'm not a "fan" of kids. I "accept" kids in books when the kid is there for a reason and he or she moves the plot line (I actually read quite recently a few really good books with kids including "Covet" and didn't mind them). In this book, the kid or rather, toddler was mostly there to be "sweet" or to have something for the MC to talk about. Mind you, if I was a single mom (NOT going to happen but humor me...) I would NEVER start a conversation with a HOT guy about how anxious I am about putting my toddler in day care or rather I wouldn't talk to ANY guy about kids unless he started it or if he is actually a father himself (or soon to be one) but NOT with a single guy.. Talking about a total and absolute TURN OFF. I'm a woman and can't stand those moms who can't shut up about their kids. Grow a life already!
So THAT was a major bummer for me. The other thing was I couldn't relate or find any interest in both the MC. The story is told from both their POV as well as a few others. Brooks is a reporter who suppose to interview Daisy about her grandmother's murder. I swear besides one conversation they have in the beginning he just "hangs around her" without it making any sense, neither one of them has anything to add about the murder.. Also he keep appearing in her apartment, knocking on her door. This one is a MAJOR turn off, his reasoning doesn't work on people from our generation. Calling is the POLITE way not to mention who says she will even be home?! strange that he always finds her home.. even though she works in shifts so he might know when she's working but people occasionally do other staff... Which brings me to another subject - both Brooks and Daisy are the most boring people I've ever "met". They actually don't have any hobbies. None so ever. I don't care that their life is messy at the moment, they actually don't have any specific interests which is, frankly, strange and also makes the characters dull.
The pacing of the story is really slow. I stopped at a little over half of the book and I can say that "mystery-wise" nothing happens. Also "romance wise" they go on one date that ended SO bad I couldn't even continue reading. I don't get both Brooks and Daisy and I couldn't really feel any real attraction between them. The conversation they had made no sense to me (with the toddler subject taking too much space). so I just decided to put it aside..
I feel HORRIBLE writing this review but making myself read this one to the end just so I MIGHT feel differently wasn't something I really felt like doing, it was literally making myself do something I felt no interest in doing. Also, after reading her two previous novels, I feel like this review might give you a wrong impression about Tracey and I don't know what happened with this one but her previous ones are ABSOLUTELY beautiful. I loved them to pieces! and I'll still auto-buy her next novel without even reading the synopsis.. (well, I MIGHT check that there aren't any kids in it..). So I apologize for this review and for not giving this book more chance than the 56% I DID read, sorry I didn't "get it" and felt so remote from the characters and I really hope that the next one would be as amazing as her first ones.

In the small town of Fenton, California, Daisy Jane is living a quiet life with her 3 yr old son Elliot and loving grandmother Pauline. She works as a nurse at the local hospital and mostly keeps to herself with a few close friends. Pretty, sweet Daisy seems to be living a small idyllic life but the reality is she is a single mom struggling to pay off her dead beat ex husbands debt and move on ever since he abandoned them for his addiction to drugs. I have come to the conclusion that I am just not a big fan of this author's writing. This is the second book I've read by her that was just mediocre, and although it was enjoyable at times, I found myself skimming to get it finished. The beginning was fantastic and immediately had my attention, but by the halfway point, I was starting to get bored and wishing it was over. I think it's mostly the long winded and unnecessary explaining of everything. I like details, but too many just screams 'cheesy' to me, and there were a lot of times while reading this book that I rolled my eyes.
Once I hit the halfway point, it lost all of it's suspense factor, which made me lose interest immediately, not to mention it became completely predictable as well.

I've only read two books by this author before, but I loved one of them so much back when I read it that I've had a lot of Tracey Garvis-Graves books on my TBR. And yes, a lot of those are older releases but I still wanted to catch up and read them. This one was available on the Audible Romance Package and I put it down on the Roundabout Challenge to make myself finally dive into her backlist. I'll be honest, it's left me a little hesitant because I don't know if her style matches with me.EVERY TIME I THINK OF YOU starts off with a bang. There's a murder and a cute little boy that was present during that horrible scene where he lost his grandmother. He still has his mother, who is a single parent and she has a trouble past with her ex and after the murder of her mother it is also believed that she could be in danger. And then add into the mix a journalist that is trying to figure out what's going on for his story.
While this is a romance book, the romance was actually not so great for me. Brooks and Daisy just didn't make sparks fly for me in any way. They were both pretty bland and then them together didn't really stir much. They had no sexual chemistry and there was no sexual tension, which I think it key if you plan on writing a slow burn romance.
Then there's the fact that the pacing of this book is slow. S-L-O-W. As in you just may need to keep taking breaks for coffee because nothing is happening. Either that or start skimming which is really hard to do while listening to an audiobook.
But aside from the fact I didn't connect with the romance and the pacing dragged, there's also the writing. This book is full of detail. Mundane details about everything. Probably why the pacing was so off, as well. I have no interest in reading about day to day life, just give me the important parts that drive the story forward.
I see some people refer to this as a romantic suspense and I can't even consider classifying this as such. While yes, there's the figuring out the murderer and if it will happen again, this is not exploited to add any kind of suspense to the story. For me, in the end this book just fell flat.

I enjoyed Every Time I Think of You very much. It's the story of how addiction can ruin marriages and lives, and how second chances are possible. Daisy is a single mum, as her ex husband is incapable of being a husband or father, but she is lucky enough to have a second chance at happiness when she meets Brook. Family support and love counteract evil and addiction in this disturbing, yet motivational novel about the power of love and family.
I enjoyed Every Time I Think of You very much. It's the story of how addiction can ruin marriages and lives, and how second chances are possible. This was the last book I needed to read of TGG. Why did I wait so long??! This book was fantastic. Second chance at love. Suspense. Mystery. Some angry. Some sadness. What a journey Daisy and Brooks had to go through. I loved how Brooks was with Elliott. How Theo was with Elliott.
