He turned as the high-pitched voice pierced the drone of rain hitting his car, looking for its source.
She was standing on the porch, her bright red hair blowing in curly tangles around her small, freckled face. She held her hands out in front of her. They were covered in a white substance that looked like flour. The petite woman smiled as he walked toward her. “I’d offer you my hand but you probably don’t want to wear this flour.” Her giggle was even more highly pitched than her voice. Heathcliffe found it strangely charming.
He stepped gratefully onto the porch, glad to get out of the building rain. “Hello.” “I’m Nita Harley. Peyton told me you were coming down today.” Her bright green eyes widened as she looked at him. “My goodness! You’re soaked.” Jerking her head toward the house she said, “Let’s get you inside. You can sit in front of the fire while I finish making my bread.” She turned and entered the house without waiting for his response, leaving flour in her wake on every surface she touched.
Following the softly rounded sway of her heart-shaped butt through a comfortably appointed room with a blazing fireplace on one long wall, Heathcliffe found himself grinning for the second time in only minutes.
He decided coming south might have been a good idea. In fact, as Nita Harley turned at the door, giving him a flour-covered finger wave and grinning widely, he decided it just might have been a very good idea.

Heathcliffe Honeybun thought he could use a break, so he went to his cousin's dude ranch. He needed to contemplate where his life would go after an accident ended his dance career. But fate had other plans in the form of a feisty redhead he found he loved to tease and whom he wanted to make his own. But her past shows up in the form of her ex, and death haunts her once more.
This story is delightful! It has it all--romance, mystery, action, adventure, humor, all wrapped up in one book. As are all of Ms. Cheever's books, this one is well-plotted and well-written. If you haven't tried one of her books, read this one and meet the Honeybun clan, eight brothers, each better looking than the one you saw last (sounds impossible, I know, but it's true!). If you enjoy suspense and romance, this is a book for you.
The mystery of a father and son was wild in this book read, there was no love lost but it put others in danger and even getting killed. Though Heathcliff went to his uncle's ranch to think about his career he did not know he would find the women of his dreams, he also did not expect to protect the firecracker that he meet at the ranch name Nita. Now enter the son, Nita needed to be protected not only from the son but also the father, murder, mystery it all happens around the Honeybun ranch, you must read about all of the Honeybuns
Wow, just when i think there could be nothing new, along comes Heathcliffe and Nita. this may be my favorite so far. Snow, murder, suspense, romance -- who could ask for anything more... Oh, horses, cookies and homemade bread
Another intriguing adventure with the 8 Honeybun brothers. Very fast paced, however, the villains named are so similar it was a bit confusing trying to get a grip around the story. Very good use of all the family manpower available! Fun series!
Love this series of Honeybun. Heathcliff needs a breather, trying to figure out his next move in life. After a leg injury. What is his plan B? Will he ever find love?
Heathcliffe Honeybun is the dancer of the Honeybun clan and the ladies just can't get enough of him. But with each brother that finds his "honey" Heathcliffe can't help but think he may never find love himself. When he's injured he escapes to his cousin's ranch to think on life and where he goes next. But a simple getaway is never just simple with a Honeybun, and Heathcliffe wouldn't be a Honeybun if his "honey" didn't have problems following behind her.
Nita is running from a stalker/killer ex-husband. Anyone who shows any interest in her or is nice to her seems to die. But Heathcliffe is stubborn and just won't heed her warnings and insistence that she keep him safe. Now the toughest decision Nita has is whether to run from the man chasing her to protect the man she loves or trust in him and his family to help protect her.
The Honeybun's are bunch that protect their family and each of their honey's. With each book that I read I hope Percy and Brita will work their issues out and finally just come together! Can't wait for Clovis =)
This is another extremely good book of the Honeybun series written by Sam Cheever who is a exceptionally talented writer. This book covers Heathcliff Honeybun (the dancer and youngest brother of the Honeybun clan) and the lady he falls for (Nina Harvey employed at Peyton's Dude Ranch) there is drama, suspense, intrigue, a cabin blown up, a crazy ex-husband, a even more crazy father in law, murder, humor and beautiful tender, loving erotic scenes. When Heathcliff calls for help, the Honeybun clan stand together and rush to help. This is a fantastic mystery/suspense romance and I will most definitely recommend this book to people that like to read a good mystery/suspense romance with a HEA
Heathcliffe and Nita are adorable together. Both risking their life to save the other. Once again the honeybun clan steps in to help when a Honeybun's honey is in danger. Lots of twists in this mystery. Filled with love, loyalty, passion, mystery, suspense, and of course humor! There Honeybun clan is always good for a great laugh!
