Discover the remarkable life of Wyatt Earp... Free BONUS Inside!
Wyatt Earp was one of the most famous lawmen that the Wild West ever produced. He was also one of the longest-lived. Considering the fact that he lived all the way up until his 80s while many of his contemporaries never made it out of their 30s, this in itself was quite a feat. Wyatt Earp’s good friend and sidekick Doc Holliday, for example, perished at 36. But even though Earp lived a long life, he was no stranger to danger. He was shot at more times than he could count, and there were plenty of people out there who wanted him dead. From run-ins with the Clantons to the famous gunfight at the OK Corral, Wyatt Earp faced life-threatening situations time and time again. Yet, against all odds, he always seemed to come out on top.
Earp wasn’t just a fearless lawman—he was also a savvy businessman and a devoted family man. Over the years, he dabbled in various ventures, from gambling halls to trying his luck in mining, always keeping his eye on the next big opportunity. This book takes you through all the ups and downs of Wyatt Earp’s action-packed life. This is his life—this is his story.

The book starts off with his birth in 1848 and how his three brothers actually fought in the Civil War, something Wyatt was to young to do. It moves on to cover various places he lived, when his wife died, his jobs as a constable, running a brothel, being a deputy Marshall and how he ended up in Dodge City.
Another move, the Clantons, the fight at the OK Corral and what he did later in his life. Really a neat book.
I knew very little about Wyatt Earp before reading this book. Learning about his life was very interesting and I really enjoyed reading this book about him. I am not sure if he was actually a good lawmen but reading of his life and exploits as a lawman and a criminal was very informative.
A quick and easy read. I felt like there was a bit of "spin" in this book making things seem maybe more rosy than they really were. Things I've read about Wyatt Earp didn't quite line up with this book but it was still interesting to read. It was timely after visiting Tombstone to know more of his story. I like that it was a quick read.
In the easy to read review of Wyatt Earps life, a great deal of information was given on his life flaws and all. To my relief, no graphic details of Wyatt’s interludes were given.
Being a teacher, this would be a good book for older students to read, reflect on, and learn from.
An interesting overview of his life. Most of the "facts" of his life are well known for booms and movies but this short read acts as a primer for some and a refresher for others. Worth the ti.e to read.
When you say the name of Wyatt Earp the O.K. Corral comes to mind also. In the biographical sketch you find out there was more to the man than that 30 seconds of his life. I liked this sketch for the details that it covered.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story of one of Americas western legends , made famous from the Television series that I also very much enjoyed . It's also satisfying to have read how he was normal to his era and also the reality of his weaknesses .
A good book to read to get an idea of the subject, in this case, Wyat Earp. Has enough of an impact that I became interested in reading more about Earp.
The wild west was a calling card for many people who would answer the challenge using whatever means they saw fit. This was a reflective story of a man that wrote his legacy as he saw fit.
It’s incredible that he survived the old west. It is imaginable that one could traverse on horseback the distances that he did. I had thought that his story ended at the Okay Coral.
