"It's not what you think," Nicolas tries to reassure me. "I believe it's even worse!" Back then, he simply abandoned me. Yesterday at the class reunion, he wrapped me around his finger, and since today, he's my new boss...
I'm Kaylee Davis. After graduating high school, I fled to London with a broken heart. My great love Nicolas Wright, the hottest football player in our class, had cheated on me with my arch-enemy Alison.
Now I've landed my dream job at a law firm in New York and I'm returning to my hometown. What drove me to attend a class reunion on the very evening of my arrival? Curiosity, probably.
There, I have an unexpected Nicolas is also there - and still just as attractive as he was back then. I can't resist his charm and one thing leads to another...
The next day, I start my new job. At the same time, the new owner of my firm arrives at the law office - Nicolas, accompanied by none other than Alison.
I'd love nothing more than to go back to London, but I've burned all my bridges there. Then Nicolas wants to speak to me in private. I seize the opportunity and immediately confront him. What I learn then, I can hardly believe...
What really happened back then? What does Allison have to do with it? And can I really trust Nicolas?
The ML is probably the worst guy i've ever read, the way he never put his girlfriend first is disgusting. The FL was humiliated throughout the book and the ML never had to suffer the consequences of his mistakes.
SUMMARY: The ML is an ASSH0LE in the whole book and the FL is pathetic
This story ended up being so much different than I imagined… Probably a high ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Firstly… no matter how the author tried, I could not bring myself to like the male lead. Personally, I thought he was selfish and didn’t care for the female lead as teenagers, and then now. The female lead… oh my lord…. What crap did she have to deal with. Admittedly, some of these aren’t huge (but to a teenager, it’s massive 🤣), but when it compounds, yeah, I can see why she shut down. I like a strong heroine, this one felt a little bit like a jellyfish and she needs to grow a spine. Again, semi-understandable, but seriously make him grovel, woman!! Btw… 30 seconds on his knees does not count! 🫣🤣
Onto to the book itself, story line was good and fairly well paced. Slightly predictable, but when you read at least a book a day, you tend to cover most of the tropes quite regularly. I did enjoy that there weren’t really any slow parts, and I was just eager to learn what was going on! Kudos to the author - I got my answers in the final few chapters, despite dangling that damn carrot throughout the book!
Worth the read, and looking forward to seeing a book for the sister maybe? 🤞.

Complete Dissatisfying Conclusion To Both Nicolas And Alison's Persistent Narcissistic Manipulations, Like The Constant Boundary And Bullying Issues Aren't Addressed At All, Alison Never Grows
Wow, that was sooooo deflating.
So they get away with being really inappropriate with each other, repeatedly, because they are related.
Uhm, that doesn't make Alison's theatrics, and his response, more understandable, it makes it worse.
But then, there's no reason for Kaylee to sleep with him to begin with, but she's fickle for the story.
We are supposed to believe that he broke her heart.
But she hasn't exercised any neuroplastic tissue towards emotionally shielding against him?
I don't get to see him forced to stew in the Bad Karma he dealt?
Huh. Just gets to shed responsibility for his adult choices to shield himself from Kaylee, in High School and at the firm, while letting Alison mistreat her.
And why did Alison's personality flip?
Story wasn't a story of growth, was just Patriarchial Parable of "Miscommunication" so nobody had to learn anything about boundaries.
Ok Tulip, this is for the Unseen, Unloved and utterly Unfucked to romanticise chronic lying and boundary issues.
Unexpected Reunion: Reunion with Consequences by Rebecca Baker is book 2 of Unexpected Lovestories series. I enjoyed reading Kaylee and Nicolas' story. I felt bad for teenage Kaylee, my heartstrings wanted her to have a happily ever after. I loved the ending and am looking forward to book 3 in the series!.

Nicholas and Kaylee were high school sweethearts. A major misunderstanding happened on prom night, and they split. Fast forward some undefined years. They meet again, have sex repeatedly, and then have another major miscommunication. This story constantly teases the reader about the details behind both miscommunication. Nicholas is shallow. Kaylee is emotional and immature. After a surprise reveal, everything works out.
Kaylee and Nicolas have history, before they were separated and have now been reunited at their 10 year class reunion. With Alison seemingly always there in the background how will they fare in this steamy second chance read?.

High school sweethearts where the girl flees the prom… why and the what happens next is explored in the law offices of Wilson and Co. That is another story that needs clearing up too. Nicolas and Kaylee and their back story are shared by the author eloquently … enjoy.

Recomendada.
