A brief history of early Texas history with many interesting photos and individual stories of the founders of Texas! I found this book to be informative without being boring so I enjoyed reading about the early days of Texas! What was especially interesting was the political rivalry between the Jaybirds and the Woodpeckers, my mother was always referring to someone as a Jay Bird and I really never knew what she meant. Plus the story of the writer O.Henry was very interesting little did I know of his Texan background.
