She'd been dealt too many blows to count. He'd always lived life on easy street. Are they Yin and Yang or a mistake of epic proportions?
Makeup artist Reggie Reynolds has endured a life as colorful as her ever-changing hair. A return to her hometown offers a chance to help her aging grandfather, realize her childhood dreams, and soothe a broken heart. When reporter Eddie Besson meets Reggie on a flight to New York City, he thinks he's at an all-time high-point in his cushy, perpetual-youth life. Twenty-four hours with Reggie changes his perspective, and Eddie can't stop thinking about the girl from The Big Apple long after he's gone.

As Eddie returns to Maine and makes some tough decisions about his lackadaisical approach to adulthood, Reggie does her own soul-searching back in New York, which reveals some painful truths. When a reunion happens in an unexpected place, sparks fly and decisions must be made. Will this unlikely pair go all-in, find a way to balance the scales, and live life on their own terms? Or will tragedy tear them apart for good?

Another sloppy seconds of the character Liam finds her happy ending.

The hero was slow to mature and was in a relationship with Jill since adolescence even though doubts and he thinking that something was missing. He was accommodated and even though he didn't want to get married he continued dating Jill. Jill wanting to go to the next level and he playing dumb.
His professional life begins to fall apart and he has to travel to New York for an interview with the new owners of the newspaper where he works.
He meets Reggie and spend a wonderful day together. They connect like never had happened before with other people. I think he cheated Jill emotionally and he missed very little not to cheat her physically.
Reggie finds out he has a girlfriend and is devastated. She doesn't want to be the other woman again and never be chosen. She is still suffering for having fallen in love with Liam and be only a fuck buddy when she wanted much more. She decided she wasn't going to get through this again.
Eddie comes home and resumes his relationship with Jill but he's changed, he begins to realize that his life must change.
I think he's a weak and settled with his predictable life. He's not happy about it but don't have the courage to change.
A year goes by and he decides to move to New York and risk looking for Reggie.
They reunite and decide to give him a chance to love them.
I do not sympathize much with Reggie because she knew the feelings of Jenna and Liam and still continued having sex with him in hopes that he would fall in love with her. I feel sorry for her but not that much.
This was the story that flowed best yet, even I don't like those chapters that tell the past of the characters. I think they cut off the flow of the story.
====================================================

Things I discovered while reading this series: Rob and Eddie has the bigger dick than Liam (average size), I think that's why he made up for with so many lovers, LOL! The poor thing has an inferiority complex.

LIAM:==>married man And one with twins of the book Only One (Ward Sisters #2)<==
I have serious doubts that Liam will remain faithful to Jenna! I don't think he will keep the zipper of his pants closed.

"Liam kept glancing at Reggie the whole ceremony. She took her makeup kit to the rental once the wedding party had their touch ups, and then she returned to the chapel to wait.
While the wedding party was photographed, she stood at the back with Liam, who was waiting for Emily and Rob. He looked at her again.
“What?” she finally said under her breath.
“You're wearing stockings,” he murmured.
“Yes. And you're married so you shouldn't be noticing,” she whispered.
“How can I help it? I know what you look like under that skirt.”
“Well, forget that you know.”
“Impossible.” He looked at her like he wanted to ask a question. Once upon a time, he'd have said what was on his mind.
“Spit it out,” she muttered.
“Have you waxed recently?”
Reggie's eyes bugged out of her head. “Liam!” she said a little too loud. Several people turned to look, including Eddie. Reggie blushed. She changed to a whisper.
“You can't ask things like that!”
“Well?”
She sighed. “Fine. Yes. Are you happy?”

“But I was never more than that to you. A fuck buddy.”

“I know, Liam. It's not your fault I fell in love with you.”

The Chinese symbol for Yin and Yang stands for two opposite forces that are complimentary, which combine to make something greater than the sum of its parts. When Reggie Reynolds meets Eddie Besson, the two of them learn very quickly just what the concept of Yin and Yang is all about.

An eternal optimist, Reggie takes a hit and keeps on moving. She doesn't know how to do anything but endure the painful moments and live through them, and she's had more than her share of heartache. Her life isn't perfect, but it's hers.

Eddie's life has been a cushy ride compared to Reggie's - not without its difficult moments, but happy on the surface. Under that perfect facade, Eddie is miserable. A part of him feels lost and recognizes that the life he has isn't really his. Until he meets Reggie, he doesn't understand the depth of his discontent. With Reggie, Eddie sees the life he has always wanted, one that lets him be true to himself.

However, in the real world, nothing is as simple as two souls who are meant to be together riding happily into the sunset. Before Reggie can live the RomCom fairy tale of her childhood and Eddie can chase the dreams he didn't know he had, these two need to put the past to rest. For Reggie, that means facing demons she thought she'd banished. In Eddie's case, it's accepting responsibility for mistakes he's made.

Will they succeed and gain the balance they've searched a lifetime to find? You'll have to read to learn the answer!

*I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Reggie is one of those ladies that has the philosophy of find a way make a way. I admire that. She is a strong character and she works through whatever life throws at her. So much so that she almost misses something right there in front of her. I also think that her ability to change her look so dramatically is direct relation to the fact that she can control this aspect of her life as much as she wishes, and she can't control the rest.
Eddie was a carefree guy who was just happy to float around in life and enjoy whatever life brought his way. He is as opposite of Reggie as one can get- it was no wonder that she didn't want anything to do with him LOL.
I really like how the tow of them came back together, it's a story of learning to hope in between the storms, redemption even.
Grab yourself a mug of cocoa and sit back and read this. You won't regret it!!

I felt like I knew the characters. I cried for them, laughed for them. Patti really makes you feel like you know the characters. I would recommend this book anyday :)

I had met Reggie in other books in this series and did not think too much of her, just another bootee call for spoilt brat Liam. Eddie was in my mind the looser buddy of almost perfect Josh and rather annoying! HOWEVER! I saw Eddie grow up before my eyes and redeem himself, and Reggie, oh my! What a strong character! A young woman who succeeds in her chosen field despite a myriad of adversities put in her path by fate!
I particularly enjoyed the back stories of these two characters as it gave me insight as to why they turned out to be who they were. Patti has a way of building her characters in a way that makes me feel as if I have known them all their lives.
Eddie's character shows me that even the guy we all know who is often a jerk also deserves the chance to redeem himself and win the love of his lady!
Patti's bedroom scenes, again in this book, are passionate, hot and even gets MY heart racing without being pornographic or using crude language.
My all time favorite "Patti" character Chris, features quite prominently in this book as Reggie's best friend.
I had no choice but to award this story 5 stars.

3.5 Stars!!

"Time to Begin" by Patti Korbet - the story of Eddie and Reggie. Eddie, a reporter from Maine, meets Reggie, a makeup artist in NYC. I liked Reggie - she's a strong woman that has overcome some tough times but still has managed to make the best of her life. Eddie, after meeting her, realizes he has not done the same. I wasn't a huge fan of Eddie - he didn't seem right for Reggie - to me he was a bit weak - but I guess that's what he needed in Reggie. I wasn't sure what Reggie got from him though. I really wanted to like him and the two of them together more throughout but it was tough for me. I didn't totally dislike them, I just didn't always feel the connection. I have to say, though, that the ending was wonderful - from Eddie's traumatic event to the epilogue. I haven't read the previous books in the series and perhaps it would have helped by giving me some more background but I'm not sure. (Received an ARC for an honest review)

I absolutely loved this book!!! This was the story of Reggie and Eddie Besson, who we met in This Year's Love.

I liked Reggie when we met her the first time but now I love her!! Her character is so strong yet vulnerable and you definitely learn to appreciate everything she has worked so hard to obtain and how difficult her life has been, yet she has never given up.

Eddie is stuck in a rut and somewhat prepared to live life with the hand he has been given with his girlfriend Jill, Maggie's cousin, in their small town where he is not happy. Then when his local newspaper gets taken over he is forced to go on a trip to New York to meet with the new owners of the paper. At the airport he sees a girl crying and that is when he meets Reggie.

That moment changes everything in their lives yet it is not an easy road for them and they still have much to do as Eddie still has a girlfriend. Will their love wait for them or is it over before it has even had a chance to begin?

I hadn't read any of the previous Ward Sisters series but I wasn't lost by any means. I do feel that I may have been lacking some personal family insight to Reggie's character but not enough to lesson my enjoyment but enough that I had to give it 4 bookmarks instead of 5.

The author has done such an exceptional job with the character composition that I felt like I could easily be living next door to them and actually like them, unlike some of the neighbors I actually have.

I may not have read the previous entries in the Ward Sisters series, but after reading Time To Begin, they are going on my TBR list as is the author going on my watch for list.

This story gave me all the feels. Reggie has had a hard life. On a flight home from doing the make up for her ex's boyfriend and her friend's wedding she meets Neil. They share one great day and form a bond in NYC only for Neil to tell her that he has a girlfriend back home. She sends him away without so much as a kiss and both her and Neil begin their own journeys to find themselves. After a year Neil realizes that Reggie is the ONE and finally decides to make a move. He breaks up with his long time girlfriend and leaves his job to move to NYC. There is some drama that follows all this, but Reggie and Neil get their HEA!

I really enjoyed this book. I was kept up late in the night reading it. I loved the characters and I really loved how it showed all the events in both Reggie and Eddie's lives that led them to find each other. Fate is a wonderful thing and truly works in mysterious ways. There were heartbreaking moments that had me in tears and moments that put a smile on my face. It was a wonderfully written book and although this is the first book I have read by this author, I am looking forward to reading more.

I definitely recommend this book.
