There is only one way to inherit a windblade. Murder.
A slum girl hides a deadly secret—she was born with the ability to throw razor-thin streams of air. In a kingdom ruled by aristocrats who hoard this power, Francie tries her best to hide it. However, a revolution discovers and recruits her, forcing her to lie to her two closest friends. When her true lineage pits all three against each other, she must choose between the man she loves and the kingdom she swore to protect.
Levick Roale keeps his own monumental secret—he's the first windwalker in centuries, capable of soaring on powerful gusts of wind. Bound by love and prophecy, he must learn what it means to forge a new future for his people.
Arturian Exley, heir to a powerful house, is burdened by a chilling tradition. To inherit his father's windblade, he must kill him. When caught between a forbidden love and his familial duty, he makes a choice that changes the course of the kingdom forever.
As a mysterious figure plots to ignite chaos, Francie, Levick, and Arturian are forced to trust each other again—a dangerous game in a world where love and betrayal are intertwined. This is a story of love, deadly secrets, and a cursed legacy in a world where the wind itself can be a weapon.
⚔️ The vibes: - YA Fantasy - Secrets and lies - Political intrigue - Love triangle - Book 1 in trilogy - Unique magic system - Closed door
⚔️ My thoughts: In a kingdom where the wind itself can be a weapon, three friends find themselves at a crossroads in love, deadly secrets, and cursed legacies.
⚔️ Okkkkk. Full stop. This was so good. So many times while reading it, I was asking myself, “how is this a debut novel!?” The intricacies involved in the many different relationship dynamics blew my mind. There were so many twists, turns and complexities woven through the political intrigue. While it had complex storylines, it wasn’t a confusing pile of mumbo jumbo. It felt like a soap opera within a fantasy novel in the best way possible 😂 .
⚔️ The plotting happening in this book had me guessing and gasping at certain reveals. It’s YA with characters aged 17-19, but it didn’t feel young while I was reading it. That said, there’s nothing inappropriate here for the YA category here either, in my opinion (see YA considerations for more details).
⚔️ There were some surprising POVs in here that I enjoyed to see. Overall, not only was this a great debut, but it’s one that made me so excited to read. I was so impressed with the plotting and storytelling. And a bonus mention to the chapter headings and page breaks that made this book extra beautiful.
⚔️ There’s secrets, romance, lies, and betrayals. The love triangle here was done so well, and I was in love and broken all at once. Everything flowed so smooth, and I will be jumping all over book 2 when it releases.
YA Considerations: some language; gore /violence; SA (off page); kisses.
Note- some language; closed door Release date: April 25, 2025.
Thank you so much to Kelly Farina for the gifted copy.
The way to inherit magic in this world is to murder someone who has it and it passes to you.🗡️
I absolutely loved this world and the characters had so much depth. There were a great amount of POVs. I think five or six, including our three main characters that we spent the most time with. I loved this element, being in the mind of so many key players!
This is young adult but there is a ton of violence. I can't even write this review without getting flagged, probably. The only source of magic in this world is a wind blade, but only a certain amount of people in the land have them and the only way to get one is to kill someone who has one. Pretty metal.
This wind magic is basically a blade that the wielder can slice through whatever they wish. The world and magic system was very easy to understand and seamlessly flowed in the story. There is definitely a wide open ending that makes me excited to see what happens in the next book.
Now that I've talked magic, let's talk about our cast of characters. We have the heir to the House of Exley, Arturian, and he's the richest kid in town. His best friends are Francie and Levick, who live in the slums and are orphans who help those who are living in extreme poverty. The three of them are thick as thieves but as they've grown up they are finding that their place in the world is very different and being friends is forbidden. They are all teenagers but I think I would have liked it better if they were all in their 20s since they seemed that mature.
I'm so impressed by this debut, indie author! Pick this up when it comes out on Friday!!
One of my biggest issues with these newer fantasy novels lately, has been the completely intolerable FMC. She is irrationally angry, or completely immature and takes no accountability. Whatever it is, I almost always hate her.
Not so with Francie. I love her. She is written so well in the context of her situation. Her development through the book is slow and painful at times, but not unnecessarily. She struggles, but picks herself back up for the people she loves. There was nothing selfish about her when it mattered. She takes responsibility, she does all the things a normal and decent person would do, even though her circumstances are anything but. I haven’t ever been able to see myself in a book like this before. But now I can. I imagined myself in her shoes. And that made the read so much more magical. It was immersive because I believed her. And I am so blown away by her character arc. I can’t wait to see what else she does. She’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FMC.
The two best friends. Geez. Their relationship as a group of three was full of all the tension you would expect. The interactions with all three of them make it clear that they care deeply for each other. I believed their friendship. I was rooting for both of the guys the whole way honestly. The romantic moments shared were tasteful and there was just enough tension. Not too much, not too little. I am really excited to see where she takes Levick. There is still so much potential for his character. He still has secrets I’m dying to know.
Arturian had a roller coaster ride through this whole book. He experienced so much whiplash between where his loyalties belonged. He had moments where I was like “no please don’t be evil.” And I was not disappointed. I think his arc was incredibly relatable because being torn between your family and your love isn’t easy. And he experienced actual turmoil that made sense. There was no obvious answer and he struggled like any normal person would. He grew and he learned. Which I think was so refreshing. And he wasn’t trying to be that obnoxiously broody type. He was just human. And he ultimately knew what the right choice was.
Another thing I loved. The villain was just a villain. There was no sympathizing or feeling sorry for his origin story. No back and forth morally grey struggle. He was just a bad dude. Refreshing. I love to just hate the bad guy.
I also saw the authors love for the world she created, the imagery was well thought out. The way you can see her love for horses. The drama and beauty of the ball. The detail written into even the simple things like the flap of a skirt. I felt transported to somewhere that felt medieval in a dreamiest sense. The scenes for the masquerade??? Swoon. That gave me a few giggle and squirmy moments in the best way possible. We love a kiss in the library.
Overall this book is a breath of fresh air. (See what I did there?) it has a mix of the things we love in a fantasy novel, while still being new and different. I am absolutely thrilled to see where she goes with the story. What a cliffhanger!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 - multiple POVs - Magic - Unrest, politics, divisions and tensions in social classes - Love triangle - Childhood best friends - Secrets
✨ a few of my favorite things: - the friendship and loyalty to each other; they are all fiercely protective of one another - The brotherly bond between Arturtian & Levick - Arturtian’s birthday celebrations - Ress and his teasing - The port office & storm 🤭 - Francie at the ball in that dress - Princess Eadlin and her attitude - The suspense at the end killed me
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Book 1 of the Skylord Trilogy - I was quickly hooked on this story because of the friendship and odd social standing dynamics between Levick, Francie, and Arturtian. Then it became very clear that there was a love triangle and I instantly hitched my horse to one guys wagon and I’m on his team forever.
In this story, there are so many different storylines and aspects playing against each other. There is a monarchy struggling and a power struggle. There are social class expectations and scheming. The magic system is unique and easy to follow. The world has beauty and elegance but it’s also so much of the kingdom is struggling. Kelly planned out so much foreshadowing and I loved it. I was able to figure some of it out but I was still taken by surprise a handful of times. I’m so invested in the book I’m running to book two.
This is a closed door YA fantasy book with death, violence, vague mentions of SA, innuendo, a handful of cursing, and detailed making out.

Ahhh!!! This book was amazing. I finished it in less than 48 hours. I have lots of thoughts, which I will flesh out and then come back here and update my review 😂
Here we go: Content to be aware of: Some swearing (including one f-word near the end), violence (nothing too graphic or gory), closed door/kissing only (descriptive) **Kelly recommends this for readers 15+ and I would agree**
Genre/Tropes: YA Fantasy, Chosen One, Love Triangle, Forbidden Love
My thoughts: I was intrigued from the very start by the magic system. It is fairly simple and easy to learn, but at the same time I was sold on it. I mean, the way to inherit a windblade is through murder?! Adds an element of tension from the beginning. I love the dynamics between the main characters, the teen angst (which didn’t come across as too much), and I mean the kissing scenes. 😍🔥
I really appreciated that the conflict in the book doesn’t center on miscommunication, which it easily could have done with how many secrets are being kept.
This is the first book in a trilogy (and her debut novel!!), and I am so excited to read the rest of this series as it comes out! The books I kept thinking of while reading this were Mistborn and Six of Crows, so if those books were wins for you, I strongly recommend this one. Only, let me be clear, there is no heist 😂 It’s the ambiance that was tracking for me.
✨BOOK REVIEW✨ Title: On Wind of Walkers and Blades Author: Kelly Farina Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW 🤩 What an amazing book!! It’s hard to believe this is a debut novel!! Kelly’s writing is so immersive and easy to read that I feel like I just watched a movie, which is always the best feeling!! The magic in this world is so unique and one I’ve never read about before and it’s so impressive! Using wind as a deadly weapon that can be used as a blade and only allowing you to get a wind blade by murdering the owner is such a unique concept! I absolutely loved the 3 main characters and getting all their POVs! There is a love triangle but it’s handled well. The ending… what was that ending???? I’m scared to read book 2 👀. I did get a spoiler for book 2 so if you’ve already read it can you message me which team you’re on?? I’ve asked Kelly to tell me the end game love interest and that I swear I won’t tell anyone but of course she’s not spilling 🫠😂

First, thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review♥️
I had a BLAST. This is the first fantasy book in a while that actually kept me on the edge of my seat. I actually did not want to stop reading every time I picked it up, which is unusual for me - I typically can only focus for so long.
This was a total page turner!
I love me a good love triangle, and this book did it well.
I ALSO have to speak on the magic system because I’ve never read anything like this before. It’s something that I think really helped to keep my attention a lot.
This book has consumed my every thought 🥲 When I wasn't reading, I was thinking about the characters. I devoured it, and oh my goodness... The fact this is a debut?! Kelly has crafted such an incredible world, and the CHARACTERS!!!!
Arturian 🛐 that's all I should say... but no, really. I love him 😭
Francie and Levick as well, they are all so incredible, and I found myself so wrapped up in each of their POVs, rooting for them every step of the way. They all had their own unique voices, and I fell in love with this trio so quickly.
Things get messy when both Levick and Arturian love their friend Francie, and from there... secrets, betrayals, and FORBIDDEN LOVE 😭🙏🏼🛐 It was done SO well and has me crying and screaming for more.
The magic in this is unique, and I adore the wind abilities, how they manifest, the cost—it is all just so well thought out. The world building and lore is easy to digest and adds another layer of life into this incredible story. Plus, the political parts of this had me so invested. It was incredibly thought out and threaded throughout the story. And at the end, every new discovery had me reeling. I didn't know what would happen next! Then the END 😭
I adored everything about this story and how it unfolded.
If you're looking for unique, suspenseful, and unpredictable with a dash of delectable tension 😏 then you will love this!
More things to know: Closed door but jaw-dropping tension with scenes that had me squealing and 😏 the whole time. Secret abilities Prophecy 👀 FORBIDDEN LOVE 🗣 Friendships that are so real and lovely Multiple POVs that all have unique voices MASQUERADE SCENE Carriage scene 🛐 DRAMA THAT IS SO DELICIOUS And so many twists, betrayals, and mending of what's broken 🫶🏼
Kelly Farina has written an absolute masterpiece! I devoured this book, reading the last two-thirds of it in one sitting. What a page-turner! The character development is astounding, the plot is sheer genius, and the writing style is impeccable. I loved the multiple POV and unfolding mysteries, along with the love triangle and political intrigue. It was all just so good!! I cannot wait for the sequel!
Kelly did a GREAT job bringing these characters and story to life in her debut fantasy book! The magic system is unique, the love is forbidden & betrayal abounds everywhere! Honestly the last 30% of the book had me going 🫨🫨🫨
Excellent read! In fairness, this isn't my typical genre, but I had the opportunity to read an advance copy of The Wind of Walkers and Blades and couldn't put it down.
This is a quick, immersive read. The magic system is well thought out and the universe is filled with inter-house politics, scheming, and warring houses, all of whom have their own unique histories and motives. Truly a great accomplishment from first time novelist Kelly Farina.
I normally read history or classic literature, but I still found this book quite enjoyable. Very polished prose, reasonable chapter lengths, and a slow burn that ends in a worthwhile payoff. Excited to see where the series goes!
This was an absolutely captivating fantasy read! The world-building was immersive and vivid—I felt like I was right there within its pages. I usually find it hard to keep track of more than two POVs, but the author handled the multiple perspectives masterfully. Each one felt distinct, purposeful, and easy to follow. I especially appreciated the magic system—it was refreshingly simple yet completely original, standing out from others I’ve read. The plot was packed with twists and turns that had me gasping out loud more than once! And the characters? So richly layered and emotionally complex—they’ve taken up permanent residence in my mind. I’ll be counting down the days until Book 2. A must-read for any fantasy fan!
Wow! The way this book filled my Romantasy cup 🥹 This was the sweetest story friendship tested by the pains of a love triangle, within a high stakes Romantasy filled with mysterious identities, a tyrant king, political intrigue, a rebellion, and amazing twists. I love this spin on elemental wind powers 🙌🏻 Oh and that forbidden love tension 🫠 so thick you could cut it with a knife. I NEED book two in my life. This is a book I could not put down and loved every chapter. It is probably the best multi POV book I’ve read - each POV was interconnected well enough that I didn’t get lost in the transitions (and I normally do). This book pulled all my heart strings in all the best ways.

This book came highly recommended to me, and I'm so glad I picked it up! I got invested in the characters right away, and I loved the world, both magic system and economic\political setting. Can't wait for book 2!
This book is everything I would usually roll my eyes at and feel incredibly disappointed by (YA, love triangle, romantasy, vaguely Anglo-historical world, etc etc) but the premise of the magic system sounded so interesting I just had to have a look!
I started peaking at the prologue and... I finished it in ONE WHOLE DAY. I Could not (and indeed, did not) put it down!
Here are some things that really stood out to me, an increasingly disillusioned YA fantasy reader.
The writing is so stellar and polished for a self pub debut author (better than A LOT of trad pub i've read recently). I'm so excited for this author's career.
- The story is complex and the world is intricate, well thought out and made with effort and care - whilst still being YA-suitable.
- The main female character is actually a joy to read. She's kind, caring, flawed. She's not snarky, good at everything or stupid - you can REALLY, REALLY see why people are in love with her.
- The villain slowly emerges, which I loved reading. They are TRULY evil and awful, but their reasons and motives are understandable for the world created. I found this really interesting.
- The various twists are SO MUCH FUN. They are the perfect combination of 'I know something is vaguely going to come of this but I can't QUITE tell what yet...' and 'Ahhh! Of course!' - SUCH a satisfying combo and it happens so many times.
- As an English person with degrees in history (I know the author is from the US), I generally found this world to be believable and well researched as a vague England in the past, e.g. naming conventions, laws, language and slang etc. (sorry if its not meant to be based on England/London but it seemed like it to me) Lots of authors and TV shows/movies try to do this and it usually annoys the hell out of me.
- It didn't slog in the middle like most books.
- I genuinely just could not stop reading it, I even skipped lunch without realising.
- OBSSESSED - If you want to read familiar/beloved tropes, characters, and settings but with a (HUGE) breath of fresh air...GO READ THIS BOOK. NOW!!!
💨💙Favorite Quote💙💨 “I’ll cut off his hands if he touches you again—allegiances be damned,” he said, his voice a low, steady growl.
💨💙My Thoughts💙💨 💨Y’all I can’t believe this is a debut fantasy author! The twists, the world building, the unique magic system, and most of all the romance that is a love triangle done so good!!
💨Let’s talk the unique magic system in this book they use wind as a weapon! People who wield it are called sky lords and it’s called a windblade! A few rare ones can use the wind to walk faster or be able to jump great distance and that magic is called a Windwalker! I really loved the magic system, how it worked, and how rare it is to have.
💨The world building was so easy to understand and wasn’t too complicated and I loved that! Make it easy for lol! It was still intricate and so detailed and I loved it.
💨The romance was so sweet and a lil forbidden because of course Francie is a “commoner” and one of them is a prince and the other is her best friend she has known forever. I wasn’t sure who I was gonna root for here because i genuinely like them both! There was even a 3rd guy Henley that came in play at the ball and I liked him too! I don’t think he is in the running though.
💨Overall this Debut novel blew me away! It feels like it was written by seasoned fantasy author! This is a must read fantasy book I couldn’t put down and flew through reading! I’m on the edge of my seat here waiting for the next book and what’s gonna happen next!
💨💙Thank you Kelly Farina for providing an e-arc for me to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5 stars. This was a really fun read!! I came back excited to read it every time. There was a strong love triangle with fun scenes and tension and a really unique but not overly complicated magic system. The main character leans a bit towards the trope of the girl with the special power who all the guys fall for, but that’s made up for by her flaws of holding onto to secrets too long and lying too easily, which I found refreshing. The love interests have a lot going for both of them, and all the build up was swoon worthy!
The multiple POV offers great insight into each of the characters, and I never found myself bored with any of the POV characters. Sometimes the non-linear timeline was a bit confusing, but not so severe that I couldn’t keep up. I didn’t give it a full 5 stars because of a few interactions between two characters that left me a bit confused (no spoilers!) even though the scenes themselves were super fun to read! (So I still totally recommend reading it!) I have theories about why it’s done that way though, and I’m super excited to see where book two leads these characters.
But the end. WOW. Left me reeling!! I’ll be thinking about this furiously until book two comes out!!!
The Wind of Walkers and Blades is the debut novel by Kelly Farine, but it sure doesn’t read like one. I loved this book. I had the privilege of being an ARC reader, and I was blown away by the story, worldbuilding, and character development.
The story follows Francie, Arturian, and Lavrick—three friends who are each hiding their own secrets while navigating the unexpected changes to their friendship. Yes, this book includes a love triangle, but Kelly handles it in a way that feels fresh and compelling. Rather than being unnecessary drama thrown in to spice up the plot, this love triangle is deeply emotional and rooted in character dynamics. Francie finds herself caught between her two best friends: Arturian, who comes from a different world, and Lavrick, who has stood faithfully by her side. Both of them are in love with her.
But the romance is just the tip of the iceberg. We’re also introduced to a world where power has shifted heavily in favor of the families who wield wind blades—magical weapons that can only be inherited through murder. I loved the magic system in this world; it felt both unique and grounded, with rules and consequences that made it feel believable.
I finished this book and immediately wanted to dive into the next one. It’s just that good.
Thank you so much to Kelly Farina for this ARC! • I am so conflicted about how to write this review. There was a lot that I liked about this book. But it also made me so angry. I don't know why I keep getting myself into this situation of reading ARCs with love triangles knowing good and well I hate the trope, and this love triangle was no exception. It was sooooo frustrating because I was actually Team *redacted 1* in the love triangle but I couldn't even enjoy the romantic scenes between him and Francie because of the way they handled it with *redacted 2*. What an icky way to treat your so-called best friend. I can't give any specifics because of spoilers, but *redacted 2* deserves better friends. However, as I said this book has a lot to like. I like the characters for the most part. I love the friendship between Francie, Levick, and Arturian - even though it goes through a lot in this story. The flashback to when they were kids was precious. The villain was absolutely disgusting and despicable and I spent the whole book just wanting him to die. The wind powers were cool. There were some great jaw-dropping twists. And from now on, I think I will be measuring all distance in horse length.
What a ride! Kelly Farina's first book reads like it was written by an author who has been around for some time. If the beautiful cover or the intriguing blurb didn't draw you in, then it won't take but a few pages for you to feel for the characters Farina has created.
Francie, Arturian, and Levick are all wonderfully crafted characters that show the different power dynamics in the kingdom of Friese. There's loads of court intrigue, underhanded dealings, alliances, backstabbing, and more. Forbidden love? You sure betcha. Horses? So many horses. I'm a sucker for a cool magic system that doesn't need a complementary manual to grasp (looking at you Mr. Sanderson) and the magic system here is especially cool. The way it's inherited means there is a constant shift and balance of power in Friese, and it's something I haven't seen in a fantasy book before.
I absolutely flew through the final 100 pages of this book faster than the fastest windwalker. Stayed up WAY too late finishing it only to get mad because the second one isn't out yet. But it's coming this fall so I won't stay mad TOO long.
Very fun read with great characters. Any fantasy fan would be silly to skip this one. Plus we love our indie authors!
This was a complex and fun ride. I really enjoyed the unique magic system and the political complexities. The writing was so well done and I feel invested in this story.
I will warn you this story does end on a cliffhanger, because it’s a trilogy, but the second book is coming out soon!
Levick is probably my favorite character. I love his steady and calm presence throughout all of the chaos. (Okay, maybe not always calm but he brings a good balance.)
Everyone has so many secrets and they all get to come out in the light throughout this book which just adds to all the drama and intrigue throughout the book. I loved the friendships in this book, and so I think that’s why below I have a bit of a a spoiler.
***Okay tiny spoiler below!***
Alright I’m not gonna lie. Love triangles can frustrate me, and this one did a bit. Francie made me want to throw something sometimes. But I get it, she has a complicated life. And I think I had a soft spot for both guys at different times. I’m so curious to see how it plays out.
***end spoiler***
CW: closed door (make outs only, past instance of r*pe, not descriptive), some language throughout (including one f word), some violence, m**der, major family drama.
Wow. Just wow. The wind blades, the characters, the plot twists, the cliffhangers? All of it. Kelly weaves words together in a way that had me shocked and delighted. Levick, Francie, and Arturian are an unlikely set of friends who have to figure out what to do to help their kingdom. Arturian’s dad is a powerful wind blade who is willing to do anything to keep his power, including ruin the very people under his reign. Will the Queen keep him in check? This power dynamic makes it difficult for Levick and Francie to stay friends with Arturian without alerting his father to their presence. I cannot wait to read the next book in Kelly’s series!
Side note: this book is no spice but does have language. Some kissing scenes are toeing the line of what some people reading no spice can tolerate. Please read at your own risk and know the content you are getting into. I love a good read and can skim past language but not everyone is comfortable doing that.
With that being said, this is an incredible story that tackles an idea I haven’t heard of before! Top tier storytelling.
Wow wow wow. Phenomenal debut novel by Kelly Farina! This book is easily 5 stars for me!! Kelly did a phenomenal job world building and I absolutely loved the magic system she created! I really don’t know what else to say without spoilers, because I definitely don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. There were twists and turns! And I was having the time of my life reading this book!!

This book you guys! I read it, I loved it, and I plan to reread it at some point before book two. I know I will love it again.
Sometimes you start to read something and you realize immediately that it is going to be a favorite, something that grips you tightly and pulls you in, not letting go until long past the final page is turned. And even then your mind returns to that story over and over again. This book is like that. The characters, the descriptions of the city and countryside, the struggles, fears, and desires our young main characters face, overcome, and succumb to…
Francie, our FMC lives in the slums of the city but possesses a powerful weapon. She can wield a windblade- an ability to throw razor-thin streams of air. But she has no idea how she came to be in possession of this ability. Only aristocratic men have windblades, and the only way to get one is through murder of another person who possesses one.
Levick Roale also has a secret. He is a windwalker. This ability hasn’t been seen in centuries and yet somehow he has come to possess it. And he must learn how to use it in a way to help others.
Arturian Exley is heir to a powerful house. His father is deadly and cunning, always working to gain more power in any way he can, and slowly drawing Arturian more and more into his world of intrigue.
Francie, Levick and Arturian have been close friends for many years, but things are changing, and the ever-widening secrets between the three of them are starting to tear them apart.
I think you will love this book if you enjoy: * YA fantasy * Love triangles * Political intrigue * Secret abilities * Closed door romance * Unique magic system * Surprising twists * Suspense-filled moments * Forbidden love * Multiple POVs
CW: language, violence, animal violence, death, manipulation, use of magic, steamy kisses

4.5 stars - I was lucky enough to get a digital ARC for Farina's fantastic debut. I found this world intriguing, with a compelling magic system (I definitely wanted more time spent seeing them train and develop powers) and enough political intrigue to be interesting without being at all convoluted. The love triangle all being childhood friends with interesting power dynamics made for some gut-wrenching reveals (though I wished the other characters besides these three had as realistic and fleshed out of reactions, motivations, and goals). I was not expecting the masquerade ball trope, but it worked and I thought it was done well. The ending definitely gets you primed for a sequel!
Read this book! The coastal setting of this story is so charming. The characters drink Salt Rum (which I wish I could try), ride horses and live in mansions, abandoned bell towers and slum neighborhoods. The magic system is unique, with characters having either inherited wind blades (think darkling shadow slicing powers), or wind walkers who can do more than just "walk" on air. The characters aren't static- I pitied characters I'm don't like, got mad at characters I love, and thoroughly enjoyed hating a fantastic villain. It's been a long time since I've been so mad at the ending of a book, in the best kind of way! I need book 2!
Absolutely loved this book. The writing was professional, plot was easy to follow and the characters became my favorite from the first chapter.
I enjoyed the flashbacks because it added to the storyline in a way that wasn’t overwhelming. Love triangle? Yes please. Oh the banter had me chewing my nails! When stakes are high and the twists come from every pov… you start making a list of questions that won’t leave your brain alone.
Recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a stabby fmc, and chemistry that makes your skin boil!
🌷This was such a wonderful ride! It is a fast-paced page turner that will keep you invested in what is next.
🌷The overall plot is full of twists, turns, lies, betrayal, and more, plus you get an additional love triangle between friends...and honestly it's hard to love one more than the other.
🌷This is book one, so don't expect all the ends to be tied up, but trust me, read it!
This book was absolutely incredible. I was completely captivated from the first page. The world-building is breathtaking; so vivid and detailed that it’s impossible not to get completely lost in it. I loved learning about the windblades, the rules of magic and the layered societies.
If I’m being honest, this book completely exceeded my expectations. The balance of thrilling action, intricate magic and genuine emotion made it impossible to put down. The Wind of Walkers and Blades is the kind of fantasy that stays with you long after the last page.
Wow, what a riveting story! Kelly crafted an incredibly complex and compelling story that weages together seamlessly. It most definitely took a ton of drafting to tell it well, since the truth and lies blend together so smoothly and are revealed so well to the reader and to the characters within the story.
I am so grateful book 2 is out as I could not imagine waiting to read it after the ending of this first book! This story deserves to be devoured by any fantasy reader who is a fan of unique magic systems in their book. 10/5 stars! 😍🌟
