Lunch Date is a 70-page domestic horror novella that follows the macabre activities of a couple, Ben and Anna. With raising their newborn baby, Anna's mother's life is deteriorating, and financial debt is catching up to the lovers, they need another option - of course, this may include a romantic, cannibalistic ritual together. This was such an easy read, and I love that it's in an Australian setting too. Regardless of what's actually happening in the story, the characters are written in a realistic way, that they're easy to relate to. It's a gorey horror, with plenty of details squeezed in for good measure, but it's a fun read nonetheless.
