Oh. My. God! A supernatural revenge thriller that was both poignant and chilling, Ask for Andrea filled me with just as much dread as it did tearful reflection. A moving new take on a serial killer premise, the three incisive POVs and eerie connecting plot lines delivered a blindingly brilliant novel. You see, not only did it entertain with unbridled suspense and deep-seated foreboding, but it made me actually cry as I thought back on who I’d want a visit from if they’re watching from the other side. Making me desperately hope that this insanely talent author’s imaginings are really true, I easily felt the deep wells of emotion and I’m sure that you will as well when you read this one too. Heartbreaking, thrilling, and beyond realistic, I’ve just become a brand-spanking-new fan of Ms. Noelle Ihli and her maestro-like, out-of-this-world story-crafting skills.
All said and done, from the cheer-worthy narrators to the evil-personified villain, I couldn’t put this short, addictive read down for even a minute. From the gripping first few scenes, which had my heart in my throat, to the taut, adrenaline-fueled climax, it was only the tear-jerker ending that managed to outshine the rest of the novel. Thought-provoking but also perfectly plotted, it wrapped everything up just as I would have wanted. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that Ms. Ihli had written a follow-up short story. Completing the storyline in the best possible way, I didn’t know I was missing April’s full life story as much as I was. So when you grab this one (because you absolutely must), don’t forget to read it as well. After all, this was one of the best books that I’ve ever read and it earned every one of its stars. Rating of 5+ stars.
