Wilf should never have cheated on his wife Dolly. Now he’s dead.

One night, after a huge row, Dolly goes to the local pub to blow off some steam, leaving Wilf at home to lick his wounds. She gets back to find Wilf slumped on the sofa, his head caved in. A hammer on the carpet next to him.

Dolly can’t stop staring at her husband’s bloody head. She pulls herself together and calls the police.

Detective Morgan Yeoman is on the case. Dolly’s fingerprints are found on the murder weapon and she becomes the prime suspect. But her alibi is watertight.

Yeoman will soon discover that secrets are never dead. They always come back to haunt you.

Tongue in cheek I hope

This plot was so bed it has to be tongue in cheek! The book was full of errors, wrong names used and the author cannot spell stationery or practice. How Sheila could NOT have known the poison letters were from Dolly defies logic! Wilf told her he never sent them and she seemed to believe him in 1990 so why 30 years later did she think he had? The book was very confusing due to lack of research and glaring errors! The only good thing was the characterisation! A lot of brilliant characters!

This is yet another brilliant read in the DI Morgan Yeoman series. Full of intrigue and twisted characters as only Emmy knows how.

A murder is committed but who’s responsible? His wife? Maybe, maybe not.

One of the characters is plagued by threatening letters that notches the intrigue to another level.

There are secrets aplenty in this one which adds another dimension to this excellent read.

Never fails

This author never fails to deliver a well written good story. In this series it hits you what might be going on behind closed doors in any street. I love it. Her down to earth style suits the storylines and characters down to a tee. I look forward to more from this author popping upon my kindle

Another outstanding case for this excellent detective. Even without a full conclusion the

Baddie Scott got theirs at least almost. The psychological profile of the characters makes this exceptional reading. Long may it last.
