Wow! This was an amazing book! To anyone who is iffy about weather they should read these books or not Just read them! Take put your Bible to look at the stories there too so you can make sure they match up although I can assure you they do. I have so much I could say about this book but I don't really feel like writing it all out lol! All I can say is this book series will give anyone who reads it a whole new outlook on the Bible and really help you to see how everything could have happened and picture it happening instead of just reading through the stories of the Bible not knowing how characters felt. I really do reccomend if you read this series to read parts of the stories in the Bible as well as it will show that they are the same stories with possibile minor variations that give you a whole new outlook on the Bible stories! I love what they did with the characters in these stories and how they added new characters with different story lines that overlap. I just can't say enough good about this series true there are some sad things but overall it is amazing! As the ending of this book said "God is love." That is one of the main messages of the Bible and these books I think. That God loves and cares about us so much to want what is best for us and help even our bad times that happen to work out for our good.

3.5.

Part of what drove my rating down was the paraphrasing of the actual biblical quotes. It just bugged me; I really don't like paraphrasing when it comes to the Bible.

Also, another thing that bugged me was that this book is written for kids 10-14 years of age (it says so on the back), and yet there were some scenes in here that were a little graphic for kids of those ages. Such as when Herod's killing spree in Bethlehem was going on, the author decided to describe two of the murders of the babies. It was heartless and sad, and she added more than was needed, describing exactly how the soldiers killed the babies (one being thrown against a millstone, the other tossed into the air and speared). I didn't think that was necessary in a book aimed at kids.

Anyhoo...that was my rant.

A look at the life of Jesus from a very interesting perspective; through the eyes of an angel who records human interactions. This book follows Mark, a special recorder angel who is tasked with keeping a record of all the events of a specific human's life. Mark's story takes us from Nazareth to Bethlehem, from Jerusalem to Galilee and beyond showing us every step of Jesus' journey to Calvary and beyond through the eyes of those who were there.
