They thought fire would take everything – my home, my woman, and Elijah. That I’d be nothing but ashes. They forgot who I am. I’m King Inferno. I don’t burn alone. The Inferno Gods don’t just ride—we burn everything in our path
I took some time to sit with it after reading, and I’m still giving it 3.5 stars.
The story is good you’re gonna laugh, and some parts will tug at your heartstrings but I spent a lot more time confused and annoyed than I expected. The Infernos talk too much it’s always a poem, a monologue, or a declaration instead of just getting to the action.
While I appreciated seeing Quasim in a more vulnerable light, he was so irritating in this book. Like, okay, you feel responsible for the loss of your wife, which doesn’t even make sense because you told her to leave Rich alone. She made the choice to go over there, that’s on her. And you can’t control cancer, nor did you give it to baby girl, so how could that possibly be your fault? Now, the house fire and everything? Sure, maybe you can feel slightly responsible. But your response is to try and get rid of Blair instead of holding yourself accountable?
Come on, let’s be real y’all are out here fighting, shooting, and burning folks up at their funerals, and you really don’t think anyone is going to retaliate? That no issues are going to come from that? Especially when y’all keep leaving hella loose ends. I was so distracted by the woe is me act that I couldn’t even fully engage with him and Blair’s romance because, honestly, both of them need to be on someone’s couch for real.
I also don’t feel like we spent enough time with Blair and Quasim. Yes, the other characters contributed, but all of them already had their chance to talk. Why am I reading from Capri? Like, sorry, but I don’t want to hear from them I want to hear about and from Blair and Quasim. This is their book.
And those wedding scenes? Way too long. Beautiful? Yes. But they’re all the same lovely gowns, good vows, then some dutty whine. Okay, wrap it up! Y’all have issues with the Del Devils, Lucia, Polo, the uncle, the government like let’s keep moving!
Also, it wasn’t clear who was with Harley in heaven. Who looks like her other than Cherie? Apart of my problem is like yall this exclusive extensive network yet Capri not familiar with Lucia? Then she supposed to be lowkey and I guess Meer and the infernos are discreet and completely unknown but she’s on the news screaming about police excessive force? I’m sorry this the second time Jah has tried to include this plot and unless it’s actually gonna go somewhere with depth it should be left alone. I just feel like it’s too many unknowns and variables that shouldn’t be. Capri is a government official, 40 is a government official, Core is a super hacker like what exactly do him and Aimee be looking into besides street cameras and stop lights?
"This isn’t Just a Book, It’s an Experience! Jahquel J Snatched My Soul!🔥
🏍👑🔥 Quasim 2: King Inferno by Jahquel J is straight fire! It isn't just an urban romance, it’s a gun-toting, heart-stopping, edge of your seat MASTERPIECE. From the first few chapters, I was already in my feelings, wiping tears, snotting on my kindle and all, ready to push up my next therapy session, but best believe the love, action and drama had me locked in like a RICO case. Quasim?? Whew!! My Man, My Man, My Man...is THE MF ONE. The storytelling? Impeccable. Jahquel J has a way of pulling you all the way into the fabric of the story, making you feel a part of every moment. The love, the loss, the loyalty, the pain. And let’s talk about that playlist, each song set the scene so perfectly, I swear I can never listen to Heaven by Beyonce the same again. If you love a book that gives bang bang, BIG D energy with a side of deep emotions, this is IT. Jahquel J did her big one... AGAIN and I wish we could have the next installment like tomorrow because that ending though (Jah, you play too much sometimes. Our hearts can only take so much) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 – Highly recommend, but don’t come in thinking you’re just getting a lil love story. Nah, this one hits different.🖤
Jahquel, Pen Master J, come to the FRONTTTTT!!! I haven’t flown through a book this fast in years. King Quasim Inferno?! 😮💨🔥😩
This story had me punching the air! But before I even get into all that, let me just say—the way Quasim prays and gives honor to the Lord?! Yeah, that hit different. And the love and lust he has for Blair? The way she matches that energy?! I was cheesing the whole time.
Quel, you gotta see me because this ending?? Nah. Both my babies better be okay, or it’s UP! 🤣 But for real, Jahquel J wrote the hell out of Quasim’s books, and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Enjoyed it! Quasim & Blair are my fav in this series. They just make me feel sappy & I shed a tear or two. I can tell the author puts a lot into her books, and I have much respect for her. Loved the playlists… some of the songs took me back to the 90s r&b scene.
I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 and battled with a 3 because some parts were detail overload. The quote “…trust one, well-chosen detail to do the work of ten” comes to mind. When I want to skip pages to get to the good parts, I know I’ve had enough description, and need more plot building.
All and all, great read, and can’t wait for next book.
I enjoyed certain moments between Sim & Blair as I have been rooting for them to get their happy ending, but I cant get over the feeling that every season seems to be the same or is it me? Highway shoot out, the book ends on a cliffhanger; usually someone gets shot . I enjoyed part one better. I felt like this was a typical read because you knew what would happen next. The story didn’t really leave you wondering or guessing about what is next.
Jahquel J. gone give me a damn heart attack. Quasim is a complete sweet hearted, unhinged king and I love it. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone cause parts was ruined for me but I will say I love the new addition of character and the story line. Please read the trigger warnings and be mindful this turn of events/ battle they are fighting now is deep and I was shocked to say the least but u cannot wait to see how it u folds. Blair is such a sweet, loving, thoughtful person it truly warms my heart to see life changing for her in this way. Same for Quasim, good people deserve good things. Now the ending though, It’s gone make ur heart stop so just be prepared for the infamous Jahquel Cliff hanger. Now come on drop the next one so we can get our fix. 🤣🤣🤣
The only reason why I finished this book was because of Elijah. I wanted to know more about his background and his story. His character pulled at my heartstrings.
So let’s get into why this book is receiving a single star.
For starters, lack of originality. The Delgatos and Infernos have 50-11 books and each of them contains the same, tired formula. Sex, no romance, baby, wedding in Barbados, karaoke, shootouts on the highway, dolphin jokes, Aimee and Core deleting the cameras and unnecessary plot twists.
Quasim and Blair’s story had the potential to be something great. Instead, we’re stuck with POV’s from old characters and new characters. The first two chapters of this book weren’t of Blair or Quasim’s POVS. Why are new characters being introduced? There were times when I honestly didn’t even know who was speaking. I get it, Jahquel is setting herself up for another spin-off, yay (insert sarcasm).
Jahquel makes the FMC very unlikable. Why did Blair have to show out like that when Berkeley was only trying to warn Quasim. I hate to be like “don’t bring your ghetto over here” like the Christian Walker meme but that’s exactly how it was. Oh, and if I’m not mistaken, didn’t they have sex in the restaurant’s kitchen? Disgusting. But that’s all they do is f*ck in these books.
Lack of romance is another reason why this is receiving one star. I get it, she’s not a romance author. However, Zay from the first book, actually took Blair out. Now I feel like she’s settling (just like Capri, Erin, Aimee and “Joy”).
Jahquel’s suggested playlist for this book? Girl, why are you adding multiple Diddy, Trey Songz and R. Kelly songs in 2025. This book (trigger warning) mentions assault and abuse. LIKE use your common sense.
That’s all for now. Don’t y’all suggest this author to me anymore. I’m done.
My emotions are all over the place !! Finally King and Queen Inferno made it official now some shit done popped off! I KNOW THAT WHO I THINK IT IS 😐😐😐😐
KING INFERNO! This is the most intense and enjoyable book experience I’ve ever had, which is crazy. I experienced every emotion while reading this book! I laughed out loud, cried real happy and sad tears with snot and all, was fighting mad, disappointed, confused, afraid and turned on. Jahquel J took me on a full on ride via Quasim II! The story arc for this character has built over so many books. The Sim she allows us to meet in this book will live rent free in my head for a long time.
The way Jah handles complicated life issues with such depth and beauty while also infusing in humor and sprinkling in a high speed motorcycle chase for a little razzle dazzle, it’s chef’s kiss! This book is a love story, not just romantic but familial (blood and found family).
The author’s song suggestions at the beginning of pivotal scenes sends this book over the top. It intensifies the moments and helps to elevate the book to an experience.
3/2025 — This was absolute fire 🔥 Book 1 set the scene, but book 2?!?! Yeahhhh Jah said we finna spin sum shit 🙂↔️
This book had so many amazing moments but whew chile the emotions were high! We always knew that Quasim’s story was going to be an emotional one based on the previous books but my goodness 🥺 I shed tears for so many people in this book. Quasim, Blair, Elijah, Meer, Mina, literally everyone 😅
King Inferno came through & showed them to never underestimate him! Babyyyy them Inferno Gods are the truth 🥵 That damn highway scene? Probably my favorite out of the entire Delgato-Inferno series! One of the many things I admire about Jahquel J is her storytelling. The way she is able to weave details is impeccable! I love seeing the Delgatos and Infernos interact. They are truly a big family & the way they ride for each other is unmatched! Meer & Capp had me absolutely cracking up 🤣
I’m not even finna speak on the cliffhanger 😳 imma just act like it didn’t happen until book 3 comes 🫡
Lord my chest hurt!!!! My stomach is in my pinky toe. I am no good atp. I Love Meer down. i just had to get that off my chest. Now, I got bored with Blair and Sim. I felt like outside of Capri its following the same "struggling woman needing to be saved " , "running from her past, "let me move her family in" plot and its getting a bit redundant. I think I loved Capris season so much because she had a different storyline and didn't need saving. I loved that Sim came out of his shell. Meer and Cappadonna had my sides hurting the whole book.
but for real why Blair think she can ride all the time? Like Sim is the head honcho and she aint bout that life. shes not on the same level as pri and Aimee. But Pri and Aimee gone hold it down every single time.
5/5 ⭐️ — This book had all over the place with my emotions. The plot twists left and right kept me on my toes. I was swinging in the air, shedding a tear and blushing throughout. — The love and bond between King & Queen Inferno is beautiful to watch. — I love the family dynamic and protection they provide for Eli (Prince Inferno). I love that young fella. — I’ll be hyperventilating until I get book 3!
There was never any doubt about this being a good book but it really pulled on my heartstrings. I don’t wanna say too much but questions are being answered, love is being shared and shit bout to hit the fan. I’m loving the character development. Ends on a cliffhanger and that bet not be who I think it is. Jahquel has this way a spinning a story that’ll have you like wth. Can’t wait for the next book.
* Song recommendations are my new favorite thing. It really sets the scene and adds emotion. Chef’s kiss
I really enjoyed this book. Out of he and Meer, Sim is my favorite and he’s right up there with Capp for me as my favorite MMC of this saga. Sim is just such a boss. Like Capone, he always lets his actions speak louder than his words. Most importantly though, I loved how this book humanized both he and Meer. We got to see them be more vulnerable. The trauma with little Elijah though is heartbreaking, so hopefully we get to see the journey of the now father and son going to therapy together in the next book. They desperately need it.
My only real critique of this book is that the characters are starting to run together for me. Between Hassan, Havoc, Yasin, Syn, etc., etc., there are a LOT of characters and it’s hard to keep up with. I appreciate Jah trying to make the characters have a sense of community, but towards the end, I didn’t know who was who, and I was just reading without comprehension tbh.
Other than that, I greatly enjoyed this book and can’t wait until the next one. 4.5 ⭐️
I like Quasim and Blair. However at times I felt a little lost on who was talking and what was happening. Now don’t get to tussling with me here because I read it slow to digest and even reread when I got confused. Overall though, this story was well written and I’m so glad Blair and Simmy got their second chance. That drunken night of Sim and Meer’s though? LMAO
I’m just shook that Tookie Butt still walking around. I understand you gotta let the plot cook, however it is time to sick Mad Max on this man (If you know Shottas then You Know what I mean)
Lucia, Polo, Red, O, Dr. Mercer, etc. a new enemy or whatever you want to call them keeps popping up and the Delgato/Inferno universe is becoming more complex. I know we have to be patient and let the author cook because it shall be worth it in the end.
I LOVE Simmy and Anjo! It's been a long time coming. This book was everything and more. I laughed and cried. Sim and Blair finally having some happiness in their lives after everything they have been through means a lot to me. From the very first chapter I was already in my feelings. I think this may be my favorite book Jahquel has written.
I’m speechless!!!! Jahquel is sooooooo talented. She makes me wanna be a Delgato girl and a Lady Inferno!! Like damnnn… This book was hilarious, emotional, gut wrenching, and action packed. My baby Goon… FUCKKKK U MEANNNNNNNM…. Yesssss!!! Everything is coming together… like missing puzzle pieces.. from Capone’s book all the way until now. The character development in Quasim’s book is out of this world. To see what Quasim and Blair went through and for all their family and friends witness it and come together for their 2nd chance was truly beautiful and emotional. I can’t count how many times I cry. They truly deserve each other. The songs attached to each chapter and section made it even more emotional, significant and exciting. Jah touched on things that were veryyyyy sensitive like Elijah’s abuse. While she didn’t go into details she definitely did shed a light on how kids are abandoned and face some traumatic things they shouldn’t face. Simmy made the right call. You know how Jah gotta leave us with cliffhanger. My heart is beating so fast. Omgggg I was screaming… My baby Meer Cat better be good!!!! Ima need these enemies of theirs to die for real. 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Why did you do this to us? Who hurt you? What did we do to deserve this? Is this the thanks that we get for stressing you to give us this book? Just step outside for me real quick.
Quasim 2 picks up right where book 1 ends. Blair and Quasim are finally in a great place. Although they're amazing as a couple, they've each grown significantly as individuals. I love seeing Blair stand up for herself and feel free enough to show up the way she wants to. Quasim is finally able to allow himself to feel. Unfortunately, Book 1 was the calm before the storm, and because of how Jahquel writes, the clouds formed, and the hurricane hit in this book. There's a lot going on in the biker world, and the politics are slowly reaching a boiling point. I would love to say I am enjoying learning more about Elijah, but I'm not. That baby's story is breaking my heart, but I'm playing along because I want to learn more.
Quasim II takes everything from the first book and turns the intensity all the way up. This sequel is raw, powerful, and unapologetically dark, with a storyline that keeps you locked in from start to finish.
The character development is phenomenal—layers are peeled back, emotions run deeper, and the stakes feel higher. Quasim’s presence is commanding, dangerous, and magnetic, while the emotional tension and chemistry keep your heart racing. The writing is vivid and immersive, pulling you straight into a world filled with passion, power, and consequences.
This book is not just a continuation—it’s an elevation. If you love dark romance with depth, intensity, and unforgettable characters, Quasim II: King Inferno is a must-read.
I’m not enjoying the series as much as I thought I would. Quasim just isn’t doing it for me & i’m so sad about it.
I love Blair’s character but I hate that all the women’s storyline’s have been barefoot & pregnant. Save that for the epilogue. Like I said in my last review I love a messy book but I think there’s a lot of unnecessary drama going on & there’s always going to be some random plot twist at the end as soon as you think everything is going well.
Idk why but I have a strong feeling that Havoc might be getting a book, but I could be wrong.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Simmy, aka King has really grown on me. I loved seeing the evolution of Quasim's and Blairs relationship. They both deserve happiness and peace. Unfortunately, before peace comes, there will be chaos. I'm here for it.
