Pain is better served from those who haven’t witnessed your struggle. Those who haven’t been the ones to pick you up every time you fall. What happens when the turmoil comes from the very person you trusted with every part of you? Who will pick you up then?
Beyah and Vante were always a pair… until they weren’t. She chose to further her career and leave home. He chose to stay, too afraid to leave everything he ever knew. Beyah is unaware that their long distance isn’t working as well as she thought. A surprise visit home and she’s faced with all she has missed. Him, his new girlfriend, and the child he has on the way. In six months a lot could change, but she had been unaware. Now she’s faced with heartbreak and anger. She feels the blues, attempting to heal herself when she finds herself in the sights of HIM.
He is none other than the bottom’s god. Dimitri is quiet, guarded, and minds his business until he walks into his sister’s boutique and spots the sad beauty. They meet. Well… she’s in her head but he meets and is enthralled with her. She’s unlike any woman he’s encountered.
There’s only one problem with his new obsession. His live-in girlfriend he’s been with for years. More of a situationship than a relationship. Will what’s found on a whim be enough to get her past that heartache? Or will falling for the bottom’s god cause more heartache on top of what she’s already reeling from?
Dimitri, Dimitri, Dimitri!!!!!! Y’all Kennedy wrote tf outta this man and I loved it. I loved Dimitri. He was everything. His energy, his actions, and the I’m not finna come up off of you. BABY YES!!!!! Beyah went through a some hurt that put her in a dark space, only to bump into her light.
Beyah didn’t see Dimitri coming and she wasn’t prepared for how he decided he was gonna come behind her. The I’m not coming up off you and phuck who don’t like it. Yes Sir! This man literally showed her light and love. Dimitri was everything Beyah needed and she was the one made for him. Y’all the story was beautiful and gave all the feels. I couldn’t get enough of them.
The beginning of this book had me all the way heated! Every time I see the author's post come across my FYP I get heated all over again! Beyah is a flourishing new artist who was given the opportunity of a lifetime to go to oversees for six months to get inspiration for her art. She wanted to take the trip with her long time boyfriend but he insisted that he couldn't leave because he had to work. She continued to pay the bills in her absence and upon returning home a few days early to tell her boyfriend some good news she finds another woman answering her door. A pregnant woman. One who is due at any moment. A lot further along than the six months she was gone.
I immediately sent a voice note to one of my besties to tell her if somebody ever thought they were going to play with my feelings and finances like that she better be ready with bail money because everyone in the scenario will be getting touched! The way I was going off she decided she also had to read the book haha.
Thankfully, the trifling boyfriend is not end game for her. That belongs to Dimitri. I will say that I really liked Dimitri...for the most part. What I didn't like about him was that he was in a relationship and didn't tell Beyah about it until a crucial part in the story. I also didn't like that she knew how it felt to be the girl that got cheated on and didn't really stand on business with that situation. Regardless of how trash the other woman was in Dimitri's life, the situation was crazy messy.
It definitely had me all over the place with my emotions lol. I have already recommended this read to several people.
Shockingly, this one didn’t hit for me. I sorta of knew that from the blurb, but it was solidified when I realized the MMC situationship continues for at least half of the story. From that point on, I was against them as a couple. I didn’t understand, why he didn’t end it immediately when he started feeling Beyah.
Especially considering her history with Vante. It all felt manipulative. So not a fan and the ending was even more confusing.
This entire story I felt like he forced himself on her and still withheld vital information. And it all ended with her still not knowing the full dynamics he had going on. Yet he trapped her. Sure we can say he was a good enough guy to her. But he also deceived her.
The cousin storyline was mid and really didn’t serve a point. If anything I was hoping Rye and Jade would spark something.
The audacity of 🥷🏿's!! 😤🤬 Vante you had a woman who has everything going for her, with you riding her coattails, and YOU have the nerve to play her like that? Ughhh.... 😡
Beyah was devastated, angry, and heartbroken over the end of her relationship. Not only was he her man, but her best friend; whom she thought could never hurt her like this. 🥹 She does all she can to push past the hurt but needs the help of her family to get out of this slump. Going shopping with her cousins puts her in the path of a man who will change everything.
Dimitri, quiet, calculating, and getting his business in order, when he bumps into a beauty on the street outside of his sister's boutique. One glance at her, and he is hooked. Doesn't matter that he has a situation going on at the house, the pursuit is on. He comes at her with the let's be friends' guise, knowing that he wants to be her everything. Dimitri comes into Beyah's life like a wrecking ball, ready to repair, heal, and love her properly.
After a bit of back and forth, Beyah submits to his pleading for her time, and that was really all she wrote. Dimitri was not coming off of Beyah and was applying all the pressure. It was adorable seeing this man the world called God in the streets, be so soft and vulnerable for Beyah. Dimitri became everything that Beyah didn't know she needed, and she loved all of his actions to uplift and support her.
I wish that Beyah would have had a showdown with Mayas, cause she needed her ass whooped! 🤷🏿♀️All that rah rah ish for what? 👀 Dimitri made sure he had all his loose ends tied tight before he moved forward with Beyah. They ain't call him God for nothing! NOW, that ending! Please tell me there will be more cause where these brothers come from, and what they want? 👀🤯 Enjoyed this!
Beyah, girl, way to boss the heck up. Like your brother said, you had one week to get over that mess. His loss was your gain because Dimitri applied all the pressure. Technically, you both made boss moves and supported each other fiercely. I loved how he loved on you.
Sir, come to the front. You are a complete savage. I loved how you handled those who did you wrong, or they tried to. People are not loyal. Asking questions goes a long way. Now they mother out here crying.
I am ready for book two because the stuff is going to be juicing.
This was boring to say the least. I’m not sure what the real point was, I guess to tell a love story. The conflicts the characters had didn’t really add anything to the story so they basically could’ve been left out. Esp the hating cousin, like it literally served not on purpose to the story. The author didn’t even give the cousin a chapter to explain her hate toward her cousin, so we’re just left with the author telling us she was jealous. Even the issue with Shad and Ivy could’ve been left out. The story started out good but it got so boring I ended up skipping half the story to get to the end bcuz the characters were likeable. Then the ending absolutely could’ve been left out, why was it even added? But I digress it was horrible just boring and I wouldn’t read it again.
I came and read this book after reading Another Constant Absolute Fulfillment and Heightened Assurance. I also reread What would you Miss Interference and Dreams and Nightmares after reading those books. It’s not necessarily to do so since each book stands on its own but it does help with knowing where the extra characters come from when thy are mentioned and it seems like they should have a story somewhere. I personally think it would be cool to hyperlink the name to the book they come from when their mentioned so if a reader hasn’t read their story and wanted to they’d have a link directly to the story. In any case Dimitri was definitely that dude and the way he loved Bryan was like no other. The only thing that would have made this story a little better was if Vante got to see how bad he messed up by seeing Bryan loved on properly.
Okay G… I see you. Jade warned Beyah that when her brother wants something, he’s all gas, no brakes and Dimitri proved that real quick. Meanwhile Vante Yeah, he needed his ass tore up. The way he fumbled Beyah had me ready to square up on her behalf. Watchamean you got your pregnant girlfriend living in her house!!!!
But honestly, his mess opened the door for her to find a real man. Somebody who loved her softly, supported her fully and wasn’t scared to claim her out loud. Watching Beyah secure another contract through the pain after the pain however you see it, it was beautiful. Dimitri honey, that man was the perfect blend of quiet strength and “I said she’s mine.” Love looks good on them.
This was a great read healing, messy in the right ways and proof that sometimes the heartbreak is just the detour to where home really is.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Beyah thought she was coming home to a new future with her man Vante but ended up coming home to him and his pregnant girlfriend living in her apartment where Beyah pays all the bills. The audacity! Dimitri fell in love with Beyah the first time that he laid eyes upon her and he moved with intention to make her his woman at first and then his wife. I thought Rye and Jade were going to get together but that didn’t happen. Dimitri and Beyah had twins but we wasn’t given the daughter’s name. I see a book with Rennix, Reminisce, and Dimitri coming soon since they popped up out of nowhere looking like Dimitri and claiming to be his twin brothers by way of his dad.
Tuh, who doesn’t want a BIG DOG no excuse me BIG G?!
Listennnn if you are looking for a good read that absolutely serves karma with a capital “K”. Then this is the read for you. My guy said if you need space, we taking it together. Because you belong to me so it’s ok to be mad (not a direct quote). But you get the gist. This is definitely a HEA with a twist at the end. Kennedy B. never misses and all her MMC’s ooze BDE with a slight bit of unhinged in a my woman gonna be in her SGE! Read this…5 ⭐️read across the board!
This book was full of healing, growth and love and I love that. I love how Bey didn’t give up on love after heartbreak but I wish we got the closure from her ex. With Ivy, we got closure, she was simply a thottie. I love Dimitri and refused to call him god cause no! But he was a good man and deserved real love and his forever and he got her when he got Bey. I love their relationship. I wish we could’ve seen more with the kids and brothers cause why did the brother pop up all of a sudden.
I loved everything about this book maybe cause God is my husband to a tee don't have not one damn friend but one maybe lol and he so protective of me it's not funny, and jade puts me in the mind of his sister, now that ending has be in my feelings cause I need to read about those brothers you threw in at that end, l8ke do his grandparents know about them boy I know they hell and Beyah brother Rye is too, please put part two out asap that is no way to leave book fan at all Ms. Kennedy B
Okay so this story held me from beginning to end! Beyah did the right thing by going abroad to better her career cause as we can see that dang punk she was with didn’t want better. The AUDACITY of him?!?! Dimitri stepped up from the BEGINNING! He instantly wanted to protect her & that he did. He gave a safe space & they both were able to grow more in proper love! Poison Ivy was exactly her name lol. Beau was the dad we all want & Rye was hilarious. I wonder will he & Jade have a story? What was up with these twins Kennedy???
I need Indri and Tiece, Rye and Jade, the Rennix and Reminese! I loved Dimitri and Beyah, I'm definitely buying this when it's released as a hard cover I just know it's going to be pretty. I love that the drama was minimal and building their relationship was the focus, wish we got more of them with their children but I have a feeling this won't be the last of them we see.
Beyah, navigating life after an unexpected heartbreak doesn’t see Dimitri coming. She actually admits all she has for him is friendship. Dimitri lets that go in one ear and out the other. He is determined to bring her smile back; the pull she has on him is undeniable and he refuses to shake it. Dimitri applies pressure… healing Beyah through her uncertainty of men by being a man of his words. Talk about an accountable & dependable man!
So of course I enjoyed this book. I mean, Kennedy B. can write her butt off. However, this felt like Myth and Rory all over again. Also on a sidebar, the cameo of Myth and Rory was well appreciated. Back to my however though, I wanted more from the couple and storyline.
I loved Dimitri and Beyah’s love story!! He knew she was meant to be his and he stood on business regardless to how much she tried to put him in the friend zone!! Now I know we are going to get a proper reunion between Dimitri and the twins and learn what they are up to!! Five stars Ms. B I be looking for the continuation!!
Dimitri and Beyah's story. book was good. slow in some parts. Dimitri was good MMC even though he stepped to Beyah without handing out pink slips to his live-in. Beyah was previously burned by a f*ck 🥷🏾 so Dimitri's movements weren't smart. interested in the development about Dimitri's Brothers. hope Kennedy B gave/gives a book on that development.
This was a cute short read. I loved the chemistry between Beyah and G. I just wish some of the characters/plots were fleshed out. I see where the author was going but I wanted more. The real identity of Lobos. Where did the twins come from? Tiece hooking up with one of G people or Jade hooking up with Rye. How deep in the game was Beau?
Good and entertaining read. I was happy that although sad, Beyah wasn’t weak for her ex. I loved how G pursued her even though he had that situation. Jade was sweet. I imagine off page Bey’s ex was regretting his loss.
Dimitri was all gas..no brakes! Beyah didn’t stand a chance with keeping Dimitri in the friend zone. Poison Ivy and Shad was trash. Mayas deserved her butt beat cousin or not. Enjoyed this read, another #1 for this author ☺️
I love when everything makes sense. My G said he wasn’t letting up off her the moment he saw her, and I love that for her 😩☺️. Now this ending 😒🧞♀️, stop playing with me Kennedy!
Damitri, love has me longing and ready to receive my person sooner then later. This is a beautiful, love story. That ending had me worried tho, other then that this is an absolute 10 outta 10
Was a decent story but there a lot of typos which took away from the story in my opinion. The story ends on a cliff hanger in a way by introducing that Dimitri has older twin brothers. 3.5 stars
Beyah and Dimitri were cute together, but he honestly had a lot of nerve being territorial and possessive when he had a situation at home that he wasn't being forthcoming about and the end just left me wanting more.
Great read. I am excited to see what Kennedy drops next. Hopefully we get more on the twin brothers or an additional book extending the current storyline. This doesn’t have a cliff hanger. I enjoyed this book and the characters.
Finally, I am reading Dimitri’s story and I’m so glad! I’m a little late to the party but I’m catching up. It was so good! Dude literally bullied Beyah into a relationship showing he is too much like his brother!
