Ex Marks the Spot #3

My Ex's Roommates

Rate this book
I went from college royalty to campus outcast the second my quarterback boyfriend dumped me—and now I’m stuck living with his ex-roommates who hate my guts.

To them, I’m the spoiled princess who ruined their season when Jake bailed to another team. But I’m no princess. I clawed my way up from nothing, and I’m not about to let these three bring me to my knees.

Silas Turner—the rough, tattooed brute with a past as jagged as his jawline. He’s made it his mission to break me, and damn if I don’t like the way he tries.

Carter Hayes—rich, cocky, and drenched in arrogance. He lives to get under my skin, and I hate that I love it.

Dylan Cooper—team captain, reluctant quarterback, and the only thing holding this team together. He plays by the rules—except when it comes to me.

I hate them. They hate me. But we all want revenge on my ex. When they see I know my way around a playbook, we strike a deal—I save their season, and maybe they'll let me stay.

But heated glances turn reckless. Kisses blur the line between dare and disaster. I’m falling for them, but am I just a perfect pawn in their game for payback?

My Ex's Roommates is a standalone reverse harem romance in the "Ex Marks the Spot" series, and has enough heat to leave the locker room dripping! HEA guaranteed

DNF -- The book started out fine. The characters were introduced and as the synopsis said, the heroine, Harper, hated her then boyfriend's roommates. Then at 17%, I started getting confused. Harper had just been publicly dumped and forced to Live with her ex's old teammates, Dylan, Carter and Silas, who hated her as much as she hated them. They had pre-judged her thinking she was just another golddigger despite never getting to know her. In the past, they either insulted her or ignored her, never treating her with respect and they used to laugh WITH her ex as he bragged about their s3x life. However, when they found out she came from poverty and never took her ex's money, it's like a switch flipped in them. At 17%, Silas, who was the worst to Harper, suddenly kissed her, and she didn't pull away. This didn't make sense to me. I understand there's a thin line between love and hate, but she just left an emotionally abusive situation only to kiss a guy who's insulted her from day one. There was no big grand apology or trying to earn her forgiveness before this moment either.

My confusion and disbelief increased because in just a few weeks, Harper and the men were all laughing together, talking football together, as if they hadn't hated each other for 2yrs. Oh, and Dylan was suddenly kissing her too.

By 26%, there was s3x and soon after Silas was meeting her family. And then there was more s3x... and more s3x. At 43%, they finally decided to be exclusive and the men were promising that she'd never need to look elsewhere. Honestly, I didn't understand how or why they were suddenly in a relationship. I could've understood friend with benefits but not full on dating. Harper, Dylan and Carter didn't have one real conversation before having s3x. Previously, Silas shared that he was a foster kid because she told them her background, but that's as far as their conversations went. There was zero romance and the quickness of the coupling didn't make sense, but if you're looking for a book with plenty of smut, this is the book for you.

Also, this book gave me a serious complex. I've never been so annoyed by so many unlocked doors. So many of the things that happened, happened Because of an unlocked door. Also, the not wrapping it up bothered the crap out of me. Harper always forced her ex to use a c0ndom, and thankfully she did because he was cheating, but with the other men, it was a free for all. I would've appreciated it more if they began with c0ndoms and then all brought documentation and then progressed to no c0ndom. The men are football players, just like her ex. You have to really trust them to go without just because they said they were clean. And why would she trust them when they've only been on good terms for about a month? They didn't even have any real conversations outside of football, so how was this trust built?

I tried to force myself to finish this book but there was nothing happening. There was a ton of s3x and promises, but no romance or actual dates or conversation, and the book wasn't really going anywhere. I couldn't understand or see any real growth and the characters didn't seem to. Have any goal outside of jumping Harper's bones and winning football games. By 63%, I just decided to give up because I still didn't know a heck of a lot about the men, I had nothing to look forward to, and I wasn't wowed by the characters. I've read a lot of reverse harems, so I know that it's difficult to have each man shine and be unique, but I feel like the bare minimum was put into the characters. I was looking for a good reverse harem and this just wasn't it.

I’ve really enjoyed this author’s why choose books. But sometimes they hit it out of the park, and this was definitely one of those for me.
This is the only way I truly enjoy a ‘bully’ romance. They’re mean for like 2 seconds in the beginning before she totally sets them straight and they fix their attitudes. Yes. I’m aware that basically disqualifies it from even really being a ‘bully’ romance.
That’s why I like it. 😂

Fun. Spicy & Hilarious.

I don’t know if it’s just me but there was almost a ‘American Pie’ feel to this. Especially when thinking about the McNeils scene. *insert hysterical laughter*

This one got so close to cracking my Top5 favorite Rebel books. But it definitely secured my #6 spot.
This book was a good time.

This book was so forgettable that I literally forgot to rate it when I finished it days ago.

This was my second attempt at a Rebel Bloom book and while it was better than the first... it wasn't by much.

Sadly I had a very similar issue to the last time as well, which is that they go from hating each other to just flat out forgetting any wrongdoings and somehow falling in love within like 0.2 seconds. Usually with very few conversations and little reason.

I can safely say that these books somehow make me cringe and giggle equally? I honestly can't say why I tried again but I can say for sure now that I won't make that mistake again

5/5⭐️ Im obsessed!!! This was another amazing book in this series. Silas, Dylan, and Carter were everything Harper needed and more. They were all perfect together and I loved how close they all grew. I liked how Harper knew so much about football and plays and how she was so different than what any of them thought she was in the beginning of the book. I NEED A BOOK ABOUT HARPERS BROTHERS AND CACEY RIGHT NOW. I really hope that book comes out soon because sheesh that’s gonna be a good book. Read this series!!!!

This was super cute. I just needed a lighter why choose because I feel like most of them are so dark. I really liked the male love interests and how supportive and caring they were to Harper. Harper was sweet as well. I also liked the family aspect. Samantha cracked me up.

🎶 Now I'm gone, but you're still layin'. Next to me, one degree of separation 🎶

To them, Harper (h) nothing more than the spoiled princess who ruined their season when her ex, Jake, bailed to another team. But she's not the princess they think she is. Raised from nothing, she clawed her way to where she is, and she won’t let these three men bring her to her knees.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

[Silas]

“I’ve been tiptoeing around here but it doesn’t matter if I do that or scream the place down. Your opinion of me won’t change. I’m done pretending I don’t exist for your comfort. Kick me out if you want. Until you do, though, I’m existing in this fucking house that I’m paying rent for.” I pulled the envelope of cash out of my purse and started counting out bills. “How much?”

At first, Silas is not a likable guy . I’m talking, he’s really rough around the edges. He straight-up calls her a gold digger without knowing anything about her life and even tries to kick her out. Like, this dude literally could not care less if she ended up homeless. He was just focused on getting her out of his space, no questions asked. But, here’s the thing—he does grow on you. By the end, he’s actually surprisingly sweet. Well as sweet as he can be, he is just Silas. He takes her to see her brothers, which is a huge gesture, and offers her emotional support. I know, it's not exactly groundbreaking, but it’s something. Honestly, even though it's just the bare minimum, it counts. He pulled over on the side of the road to let her cry because she was so overwhelmed after seeing her brothers. And then, there's this scene when Silas’s family finds them in bed together, and Silas is just passed out and won’t wake up. The whole situation was so funny.I LOVE HIM OKAY.

[Dylan]

“I am so sorry. I should’ve knocked. I thought I heard you call my name and I thought you might be sick so I just barged in. I am incredibly sorry, Dylan.”

“No, I’m sorry. I don’t… Normally, I… Jesus. This is embarrassing.”

“Don’t be embarrassed.”

“You just heard me calling your name while jacking off, Harper. I’m pretty sure that’s harassment or something. I’m sure I just made you uncomfortable and I’m sorry for that.”

Okay, hold up—they did it on the kitchen island. OOP! The wild part? Dylan is obsessed with cleanliness and order. Dude’s basically a neat freak, but when it came to being with her, he didn’t care at all. I know that’s right! He threw all his usual rules out the window for her, and honestly, I was kind of here for it. Before all that drama, Dylan just wanted to stay out of it. He didn’t like her, but he wasn’t as cruel as Silas. He just wanted her out of his space, nothing personal. But once he realized he misjudged her, he felt bad—and he should have. I mean, he had no reason to treat her like that when he didn’t even know her. So when she yelled at him and the others, I'm honestly glad he felt that regret. It was deserved. Dylan’s the kind of guy who feels responsible for everyone around him, and he definitely showed that with Harper . When she needed a hug because she missed her brothers, he was there. You could tell he was down bad for her. I mean, this man was out here pleasing himself and saying her name. BARK. But then... the mess. He’s the one who drafted that message that got her ridiculed for being with them. It was an accident, but Dylan, come on! He had one job—not to send it. I’m sure he was absolutely sick to his stomach when he realized he was the one who caused her that pain. He must’ve been feeling SICKKKKKKK after that.

[Carter]

“Why are you sorry? You’re not a slut. We all know you lost your virginity to Jake. Even if you hadn’t, sleeping with people you’re attracted to doesn’t make you a slut. You’re just living your life, Harper. I’m sorry if I made you feel like I thought you were anything other than fucking great. I was just pissed. At Silas and Dylan. Not because anyone did anything wrong but because I’m jealous and that’s not something I handle very well.”

GIRL. He was jealous of Silas and Dylan, especially because they’d been with her and he hadn’t. So what does he do? He goes to the library and totally ate up that scene . He came in standing on business, and got exactly what he wanted. I respect it, honestly. He used his money and privilege to get her brothers out of prison. He did it selfishly, but for her happiness. She wasn’t talking to anyone and was in a funk after ending things with him, Silas, and Dylan, and he just had to do something to help her. TOO GOOD . And when she decided to go to campus alone and start moving forward with her life, he wasn’t having it. He came to protect her, defended her, and made sure those guys were done—he finished them off! As he should, because he’s a protector, and he doesn’t care about using his privilege to make life easier for her. Now, the part where he gets hurt? She’s worried, wants to check on him, but then realizes she’s mad at him—TEARS. And when he calls her “baby”? OOF. YES.

[All]

“The way he was looking at her last night? I almost want to say do it.”

“He needs to know that he’s lost in every way.”

“We can’t send it.”

BOYS. Okay, the first thing she says after taking that picture with Silas, Dylan, and Carter is that she wouldn’t want anyone to see it—and they still wanted to share it with her ex. WHY, GUYS, WHY! They didn’t listen to her at all, and then they’re sitting there wondering why it took so long for her to even consider taking them back. GIRL, I would’ve been pissed off too! Like, come on! But—thankfully—their saving grace was getting her brother out of prison. Like, those are her favorite people in the world, and she got them back in her life. OMG, that was such a sweet moment. I won’t even lie, that was like the redemption arc I didn’t know I needed. Honestly, this book ate up. It was so much fun, and I loved watching the dynamic between them shift. They were majorly rude to her at the start, but then they gradually softened up. I do hate that it took her yelling at them about her childhood for them to realize they misjudged her, but hey, a win is a win. The growth was real, and I’m here for it.

─── ・ 。゚☆: OVERALL*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

LISTEN. It was so fun. Like, yes, these boys were straight-up menaces to society at first—mean and completely out of pocket—but honestly, once she gave them a little taste of their own medicine, she shut them up real quick. And let me tell you, they bowed down fast. The moment she started helping them with the plays and getting more involved in their lives, they were all about her. It was like a complete switch, and I loved it!!!

Plot: 3.5/5 • Spice: 3/5 ———> Another contemporary sports RH ✔️

Harper was dumped in a very dramatic way. She was supposed to move in with him the next day. Instead she crawls back to the apartment he shared with his three roommates, Silas, Dylan and Carter. Who all think she’s a stuck up princess. (so far from the truth)

Realizing she has no where to go she begs the guys to let her stay. She has no friends, no family - her closest family, her ride or die brothers are all in prison for attempting to kill their father for trying to sell Harper for drugs.

It doesn’t take long for the three guys to become head over heels for her. She helps them with their football plays, she a sports medicine college student so she helps them with their healing stuff. She’s good for them.

One of them messes up big time. Blows way out of proportion. Harper is devastated. Here’s where we get our third act break up. (which was to be expected)

In the end, we do get a HEA. However, some of this was so far fetched it seemed like fantasy. You were able to keep that much contact with your brothers in prison? They were able
to watch all the sports game? The three guys wind up on the same pro team? It’s just laughable bc common….. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was funnyyyyy.

I mean yes, there was angst. Yes, this was enemies to lovers. Yes, it was spicy. But it truly got that extra star from me because I fully cackled at least three times.

Again, I think I just know what I'm getting when I read a book from Rebel Bloom, so I just enjoy it for what it is. The plot is usually a bit thin (spice over plot for sure) and with plenty of holes (just ignore them) and the spice is usually good, but maybe a little cringy. That doesn't mean I don't have a good time though.

The set-up of this one was so good! Wow, was Jake the worst or what?! Then our girl got feisty and I love that. It did start to drag a bit starting at 55% and the third act breakup (because yes, there's a third act breakup) was kind of annoying, but that could just be me and my preferences because I tend to really dislike a third act breakup because it's usually so unnecessary. This one wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I did still get frustrated at our FMC. Though, as I reflect on this a bit, I do think there were lots of moments here that were accurate representations of how a 21-23 year old would act.

So, I'll probably still keep reading Rebel Bloom. She's a great little spicy read in-between books doing heavier lifting and I usually giggle, which is important to me.

Such a cute book. Love a good reverse harem! I really loved the dynamic of the characters. I also loved the enemies-ish to lovers! Thought it was super cute how they all disliked her so strongly. And her brothers and her relationship was so sweet! I love that the author threw that in there. Perfect palette cleanser after a very dark book!

Quotes
Holy penis ! My mouth dropped open in shock as I stood in the bathroom doorway, where I’d just walked in on my boyfriends’ roommate, Silas Turner. -> letterlijk de openingszin van het boek phahah

“Remember that I know where you come from, Harper.” Jake’s words were spoken softly, barely audibly, but he might as well have slapped me. -> bf is an assholeee

I was staring at a picture of Jake kissing Savannah Walls. Savannah Walls, a cheerleader who hated me for reasons I didn’t understand. The same Savannah Walls that Jake told me I had nothing to worry about. The caption under the photo was just as damning.
My baby and I are moving to Cali tomorrow to start our new journey as Trojans!!!! -> fucking assholeeeeeee

the screen. “You didn’t know, did you?”

I was floating again, just like last year, but this time it was in a state of apocalyptic shock. Somehow I was away from the table, at the front of the room, standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for Jake to come down. It couldn’t be real. I was stuck in a nightmare.

When Jake casually came down the stairs, he was still smiling. It has to be a nightmare because why else would he be smiling like that? He went to move past me like I wasn’t standing there in front of everyone and a part of my backbone found its way back into my body.

I grabbed his hand and stepped in front of him again. “What the hell is going on, Jake?”
Still smiling, he leaned down to whisper in my ear. “Make a scene and I’ll be sure to let everyone know just where you come from, Harper. You think all your sorority friends are going to want to stay friends with trailer park trash Harper with the junkie dad and criminal brothers?”

She looked like a drowned rat, her normal princess barbie look left somewhere out in the storm. I couldn’t think of a time I’d ever seen her without her hair done and makeup perfect.

“You three think you know me so well. You think you have me all figured out, don’t you? You saw me coming and going with Jake and decided exactly who I was, huh? You have no fucking idea who I am. You don’t know anything about me.” I was yelling but I couldn’t stop. ....
“If you’re not kicking me out, I don’t need to hear anything else from you.” I tilted my head to the side as I stared him down. “So, I repeat. Are you kicking me out?” -> you go girlllll

He let the silence stretch on until finally he pushed off from the doorway and smirked. “You have a filthy mouth, Harper.”
My face burned red as anger came rushing back.
That smirk turned into a full on grin as he backed away. “It suits you.”

“You want to know just how much I fucking suck?” Carter didn’t wait for us to reply. “I can’t stop thinking about how fucking hot she was while she was ripping us a new one.”

Me, on the other hand… I could acknowledge that finding her hot as fuck last night was not great but it didn’t change anything. She’d burned so hot while shouting at us that she practically glowed. There was fire in her eyes and a bit of crazy that just did it for me.

Dylan groaned. “Shut the fuck up, both of you. We should be thinking of ways to apologize to her, not ways we want her to fuck us.”

It was almost haunting to see the hardass coach who’d chew us up and spit us out before breakfast smile at Harper.

I stared at him for a few seconds, just wondering what it would be like for him to hug me. It was a strange thought but I realized he was about the same giant size as my brothers and I couldn’t remember the last time I’d been hugged.
...
I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on tight, breathing in his warm scent. His big body was so hot against mine that I could feel all of my muscles relaxing. I knew I needed to let him go and stop clinging but I couldn’t force myself to step back just yet. “I don’t think I’ve been hugged in a really long time. Since even before Jake left.”

The next night Silas appeared in my doorway like a dark angel, dressed in all black with his dark hair falling over his forehead and his gray eyes focused entirely on me.

“Pretty sure Hogan would’ve kissed you if you’d been there.” A smirk twisted his mouth higher on one side. “Look at another play for me?”

He was quiet for a minute and when he looked back at me, his smirk was gone. “I’m sorry. For judging you before. You were right to rip us a new one.”
Shocked at the apology, I just shrugged. “It felt good.”
He laughed and his whole face transformed from hard and broody to something just a bit too masculine to call beautiful but it was close. “I’m sure it did. You should do it more often.”

I didn’t understand the kiss that happened but I knew it couldn’t happen again. Silas was a jerk and I was… I was healing. I was focused on work and school. I was… I was so turned on by a simple kiss that I had to go take a cold shower.

I giggled at the sight of them. They were absolutely, totally drunk off their asses and it was endearing to see that they turned into little boys when drunk. Jake had turned into an even bigger raging asshole when he got drunk.

Dylan turned the vacuum off after a few minutes and silently walked over to me before unceremoniously lifting me onto the kitchen island. I grabbed his shoulders and squeaked, unsure of what was happening. He swayed as he reached his finger out and tapped me on the nose. “Gotta vacuum under you, Harper.”

You’re horny for them. Pervert. I pulled my pillow over my face and groaned into it. I couldn’t be horny for them. Firstly, there were three of them. Secondly, they were infuriating men who made me want to poison them some days. Thirdly, and most importantly, I’d only ever been with Jake and I’d never been all that excited or into sex. I couldn’t just suddenly be a sexual deviant after being almost indifferent towards sex for most of my life.

Casey whistled from behind me. “She’s hot and she speaks football. This one’s dangerous, Carter. She’ll steal your heart in no time.”

She threw her arms around me and hugged me tight. “We’re going to be friends now. After hearing you cuss the guys out the other day, I knew it

She let out a bark of laughter that startled me with just how loud and abrupt it was. “You think they’re being nicer because they feel sorry for you?”
I frowned. “Yeah, I do.”
“They want in your pants, girl. They don’t feel sorry for you. Or if they do, it’s in a different part of their brains, a part that exists entirely separately from the part that wants them to undress you and lick you like an ice cream cone.” She rolled her eyes. “Don’t make me go into detail because one of them is my brother and that’s disgusting.”
I felt my face slowly heat up as her words sank in, one by one. By the time she finished talking, I was bright red. “Oh.”

It was my turn to swallow loudly. Polite Dylan had left the room and the man standing next to me was a shock to my system. I licked my lips and watched his face pinch like he was in pain. “So just a blow job?”
He let out a quiet laugh as he dropped his hand from my face. “No. I was thinking of owning your mouth while you kept your pretty eyes on mine, even while you struggled to take it all. Nothing just about it.”

My breath caught and I looked over my shoulder at him. “I’m on birth control and I’m clean. I got tested after Jake.”
His eyes burned hot. “I’ve been tested since my last time and I’m clean, too. Are you sure, Harp?”

“Fuck, Harper. Do you know how fucking hot you are? Messy, leaking my come, and speaking filth with a mouth swollen from kissing me? This will be the image in my head when I die one day.”

Letting him comfort me and hold me while I cried about my brothers was something I’d never let Jake do in the two years we were together. It’d never felt right. Yet, with Silas, it was too easy to let him take care of me.

“What are you doing?! You scared me! Shut the door, Silas!”
I shut the door behind me and walked closer. I felt like a magnet was drawing me towards her.
“I meant with you on the other side, but sure. Come on in.” She huffed out a breath and cut her eyes at me. “I guess we’re even now.”

Never in a million years would I have ever believed that Silas would paint my toenails. I had to have crossed into an alternative universe.

“I’ve never been very religious, Silas.”
“That just won’t do, princess.” He pushed me to my knees, one hand still in my hair. “Time to go to church.”
I stared up at him, half in shock and half so incredibly turned on that everything he said sounded like a great plan. “Really, Silas?”
His grin was devastatingly handsome. “What don’t you understand about me wanting you to worship my cock?”

Hearing about Dylan taking her more than once should’ve had me packing up and running but instead I was close to losing control and just throwing her down to fuck her.

Dylan kept the kitchen clean with something close to a neurosis. For him to have fucked her over the counter, he would’ve been more out of control than I’d ever seen him.

“Maybe you’re not a good girl, Harper, but tonight you’re going to be my good girl.” I pumped my fingers faster. “Come again.”

“I feel like I should sue Jake for two years of bad sex.” I smiled as he let out a rumble of laughter that tickled me. “You and Dylan have opened my eyes. As silly as it may be to say this…thank you. I’ll know what not to accept from partners down the road.”
I quickly found myself under a very scowly Silas. He cupped my face and dragged my mouth up to his so he could kiss the hell out of me. Only when we were both struggling for air did he pull away. “What partners down the road? The way I see it, you’ve got everything you need in this house.”

“I’m not opposed to sharing.”

His lips twitched like he was fighting a grin. “Best fucking sex of your life, right?”
Dylan smacked both of us on the back of our heads. Then he lost a fight with his own shit-eating grin. “So fucking good that I was seeing stars and counting out how long I needed to wait to ask her to marry me.”
We all fell out laughing because it was clear that we were each just as hooked on Harper as each other. None of us bothered to delve deeper into it, to ask how the hell it was going to possibly work out. We were just focused on the fact that Harper Monroe was the hottest woman ever and she wanted us.

“While I don’t hate the idea of Dylan or Carter touching you, I feel like breaking something at even the thought of some other asshole coming near you.”

Carter closed the distance between us and kissed me, shutting me up. It was a soft kiss, something sweeter than anything he’d given me yet. “I consider it dating.”
Dylan nodded when I looked at him. “We’re dating.”
Silas grinned at me. “Yeah, princess, we’re dating. I wouldn’t expect you to accept anything less.”

I was having the time of my life. I had three men downstairs who all wanted to have their way with me and that was amazing but I felt like I was making a true friend for the first time since I’d arrived at college. Casey was real. She wouldn’t have ditched me with everyone else when Jake did.

Harper planted herself firmly between Jared and Coach, her chin tipped up as she faced off with a man three times her size. “If you’re finished screaming, I’ll explain to you the same thing I explained to Jared. -> you go girll

Silas shuddered. “I have the fucking creeps. What the hell was that? He just went from screaming in her face to inviting her to dinner with his wife. Am I hallucinating? Did I hit my head?”

“You’re ours, princess.” Silas stood up and stalked over to me. Grasping a handful of my hair, he tipped my head back so I was looking up at him. “Call it whatever you want. Jealousy, whatever. You’re ours and anyone else who touches you will lose their fucking hand.”

“This doesn’t work if you run and hide from us, princess.” Silas stroked his thumb over my bottom lip. “I know you were upset yesterday but I feel like we deserved a chance to take care of you and to let you know that you’re worth the fucking world. Yeah, there’s a risk of what we’re doing here coming out, but it’s a risk that we all thought about and decided that you’re worth it. We deserved to say it and you deserved to hear it. Yesterday.”
All of my indignation about being lectured fell away. Staring at the two of them, I gripped the counter tighter and nodded. “You’re right. I’m sorry for running away. I care about you both, and Carter, a lot. It’s scary sometimes.”
Dylan pushed my hair behind my ears and smiled. “We care about you, too. If shit like that happens, we deal with it together. Okay? We made the decision to do this together and that means we do everything together. Even the awkward shit like facing each other’s families.”

“You’re mine, Harper. You’re going to go back out there with my come deep, deep inside your cunt and you’re going to sit there and smile because you’re a goddamn queen. Do you understand me?”

I didn’t think it was possible that they cared about me. Once again I’d been proven a fool and publicly shamed.

“Don’t fucking say it, princess.” Silas grabbed the door frame and glared at me. “Don’t.”
“It’s over.” I couldn’t look at them anymore. “Congratulations on your wins tonight. You won the game and you ran a train on Jake’s woman. You’re the real heroes.”
I slipped back into the bathroom and held my breath until I heard Casey shut the door. Then I crumbled.

I’d never felt that unsafe. I could still feel those strangers touching me and I couldn’t stop thinking about what might’ve happened if the guys hadn’t shown up. They’d saved me. No matter what they truly felt for me, they’d saved me. Even if they didn’t love me, I was safe with them.

The three of you are a package deal to me. Without you there would always be something missing.

“This is the most fucked up version of meeting the family ever. Hey, good to meet you, I seriously fucked up and hurt your sister and now she hates me, but how’s life?”

Every time I opened my bedroom door to go to the bathroom there was something else in front of it. My clean bedding, food, chocolates, flowers, even a new laptop and phone. It was getting to me. They were persistent assholes, I’d give them that.

“There are still a few assholes around campus talking shit but when we find them, we crush them like the bugs they are. It’s been kind of fun. No one on the team ever laughed at you or judged you, Harper. We’ve all seen the way Dylan, Silas, and Carter look at you. We know whatever y’all have isn’t what Jake tried to make it out to be.” He lifted one large shoulder. “Not that it’s anyone’s fucking business. Excuse my language.”

Vance laughed and tossed his arm over my shoulders in a move that felt almost brotherly, especially when he reached up and patted my head. “When are you going to forgive them and get on with being happy again?”

“I have figured out how to get into government programs that are easier to solve than you! You love them. I know you love them. You know you love them. They clearly love you or they wouldn’t be playing concierge, bringing you your special snacks and shit all day long. The reunion is inevitable so why don’t you just knock this shit off and take what they’re trying to give you?! You have no idea how lucky you are to have them, Harper. Not everyone gets the men they care about. You can.”

My stomach fluttered. They’d gone to see my brothers.

You want them. They want you. Work it out.”

I grinned, knowing I was going against his silly new rule. “I love you.”

He slipped his tongue into my mouth and growled. “You told Silas you loved him.”
I gasped when he pushed his hand between my thighs and cupped my sex. “I love you, too! I love all of you.”
Dylan growled from the front seat. “You’re ours, Harper. You won’t run from us again.”

“Oh, god, yes!” Harper opened her mouth and then the three of us were filling her to the brim.

Holding her even tighter, I kissed her neck. “You’re ours just as much as we’re yours, baby.”
She wiggled her ass into me tighter and sighed. “I love y’all so much. I missed you.”

Silas laughed. “You’re damn right you can’t get out of it. Now go take a shower, princess. You smell like sex.”

Laughter erupted, and we all clinked glasses, the sound ringing out under the fading light of the setting sun. As I looked around at the people who had become my home, I realized I had everything I’d ever wanted.
A family. A future. And a love big enough to hold it all together.
This is our happy ending. Or rather, our happy beginning.

Dylan turned my face to his. “It’s been long enough. We waited for you to graduate and then for you to get settled in your career here. No more waiting. Marry us, Harper.”
Silas growled. “It’s not a question.”
Carter turned my face back to focus on him. “We’ve been patient. Too patient. Now say you’ll marry us.”

DNF at 81%.
I forced myself to get that far. Poor Harper. That girl just kept giving her heart to the worst men. I didn’t even want to finish after the 3rd act split because I knew it would end with her accepting their apologies. Laaaame.

What I loved:

-The dialogue was hilariously written
-I absolutely adored Casey, as well as Silas’s mom. They brought so much fun and chaos to the mix.
-I loved how many times Harper told people off for being @ssholes
-Another reviewer mentioned this, but they were only mean to her for like 5 minutes and for me, that’s perfect--that's just about all I can tolerate. I can’t really do “bully” romances unless it’s something like this where they were kinda mean for half a minute lol (aka like the first 10% of the book). I'm not saying this as intended to be a bully romance, but I did just want to point out that I'm super glad it wasn't. It's more like dislike to lovers, and the dislike was based on a misunderstanding who Harper is as a person.
-This was light on the angst, which I appreciate
-The spice was done well
-Harper's brothers added a layer of depth to the story (as well as entertainment!)
-Sidenote: I so hope Casey and Harper’s brothers get their own book because I totally loved their interactions and vibes together

The only thing I didn't love/ maybe needed to have clarified was that the guys' motivations for disliking her in the first 10% of the book were a little bit skewed. Like I don’t think they even knew why they didn't like her? Lol. Because first it was that she’s a “gold digger” but then we find out they were assuming she was super rich, so why would she need to be with someone for the money if that’s the case? Then they were also mad at her for being rich (again, assumed), but Carter’s very wealthy and they’re all BFFs, so clearly they don't have a problem with someone having money. Soo you just didn’t like her because reasons lol.

Favorite quotes:

- “New kink unlocked.” Carter joked. “Having Harper Monroe strangle me while shouting in my face. Sounds like a good time.”

- Silas nodded. “As long as no one else touches my c0ck but you, I’m great.” Carter snorted. “Well there went my big plan.”

- I’m way off but I feel like you might want me, too. I know I’m supposed to be coy or play it cool or some stupid sh!t like that, but I’m being honest. I want you.

- Silas grumbled from behind me. “Everyone who isn’t Harper needs to shut the fuck up. I’m trying to sleep.” I grinned. “You don’t need me to shut the fuck up?” He nipped at the back of my neck. “No, you’re special. You can talk. They can’t.”

- “I’ve never been very religious, Silas.” “That just won’t do, princess.” He pushed me to my knees, one hand still in my hair. “Time to go to church.”

The way they started out absolutely despising each other.
I cried at the beginning when she had to ask them to let her stay. God i felt so fucking bad for Harper. I love that she was such a fucking spitfire. She was not having any of it with anyone. She wasn’t afraid to go toe to toe with you even if she was half your size. Her background and everything with her brothers should have been touched on more (same with Silas) but it was still enough to make you feel so strongly towards them.
Speaking of Silas, I love him so much. The absolute stone cold asshole who hated her guts and thought she was an uppity princess realized just how wrong he was and how much they had in common and then turned to mush for her. He saw her go the hell off and was never the same lol. I love how he comforted her and took her to see her brothers. And was the first one willing to kill someone for her lol.
Dylan my sweet boy. Oh he’s so precious and he loved Harper so much. He was the first one to cave and feel things for her. Thank god he has such a caring and soft heart and changed Silas’ mind. When everything happened he was truly so heartbroken and fucked up over it. The fact he let the kitchen become a mess 😭 oh sweet boy was going the hell through it. I also love that he was always the one telling her how beautiful she was.
And Carter the goofball who is actually just a jealous loverboy. I would have loved to see his kink of Harper choking him and yelling in his face played out 💀 i love that he was the clingiest and i would say the most jealous. The way him and Casey came together to get her brothers out, oh god i could kiss them both!!
And we can’t forget about Casey. God that girl was fucking hilarious. The stick figures and Dwayne the rock Johnson took me tf out. Also love that she’s a computer hacking genius and was singlehandedly the mastermind behind getting Harper’s brothers parole. Also love that she ended up with said brothers. She was such a good fucking friend when Harper truly needed one.

And lastly FUCK JAKE CALLAHAN! That mf put Harper in real danger. Thank fucking fod Casey called Carter and her men came to her rescue. That scene was scary as fuck.

This was a cute, fun read. Was it anything particularly creative, passionate, or unpredictable? No. But was it still a fun read? Absolutely. The FMC was likeable enough, and I loved her bond with her brothers and the knowledge that she had of football that was on par, if not greater, than her men's. She also proved to have some decent morals with her study/job in that she was there for the love of the sport and care for the players rather than any other selfish reason. The men, while also likeable enough, were relatively similar and indistinct aside from occasional comments about Dylan's kitchen or Carter's wealth. I do love the push/pull dynamic, especially with them initially thinking that she was a stuck-up brat, but I wish their reactions and later individual relationships with Harper had been more developed and unique to each character. The side characters in this are absolute gems, from the obvious Casey and Harper's brothers (which I wish we got a novel about rather than a few small scenes and an epilogue) to Silas' family (his little brothers are unhinged and I'm here for it, and his mother is a legend too) and even Coach and Vince. The spice was good, although part of me wanted to draw it out a bit more between 'nothing' (endless mental sexual tension) and then straight rawdogging. Like a lot of the book, the 'betrayal' and subsequent redemption was predictable but I was here for it anyways. It was nothing all that new or exciting, but a nice, light and fun read nonetheless, and best believe I will be snooping around some more Rebel Bloom books asap. 7/10.

I had low expectations due to trying to read the first one. This is not an enemies to lovers. This is misdirected anger.

At first I didn’t know what to make of Harper, she seemed so fake. Apparently that’s how she was meant to be views so you can see as a reader her appearance cracking and breaking.

This book is not about emotional connections, it’s nothing but lust filled nights waking up in another guy’s bed.

Jake, Harper’s boyfriend at the beginning of the book, dumps her. Despite her going to a pretty popular college, everyone knows about it and EVERYONE turns against her (cue eye rolling).

She begs the roommates and football teammates to let her stay while she gets back on her feet. The roommates think she’s a gold digger and want her gone as soon as possible.

I love the fact the fmc stands up for herself against their harsh judgments. It seems to stop them from being jerks, they pretty much “insta-love” her.

One at a time she breaks down the wall between them and beds them. She feels attracted to all of them and they agree to share.

Everything is going fine and dandy between them, until it isn’t. About 60% through the book things get weird. Cue drama, word gets out that they are a polyamorous couple. Harper image is ruined. Lots of unnecessary stuff. Blah blah blah.

Everything is back to normal and happy ending with questionable hygiene habits that made me gag. I seriously wanted to dnf with 20 pages left. Gross.

Rebel wrote these three men so well that I’m fighting with myself. Because would real me forgive them for what they did?? I have no idea. I’d like to say I have enough self respect to say ‘fuck no’. But… if a man like Silas loved me enough to soften, or a man like Dylan loved me enough to lose control and abandon his compulsive tendencies, or a man like Carter loved me enough to take life seriously for a change… I would waver.

I don’t blame Harper for forgiving them… I do think it happened too fast. I also think her brothers should have throw hands a little… okay, not hands. Maybe just words. Yeah. They should have thrown more words and yelled more.

I also would love a story for Casey and the brothers. The Three Ex-Convicts. Bam. Add that to your list Rebel!! She’s a sassy girl who just want fun. Their three men obsessed with the silver spoon fed brat.

ANYWAY!! Back to this book.

Loved it. I cried, I laughed, I blushed, I swooned, I raged. I LOVED IT!!

my phone melted

‼️⚠️ spoilers ⚠️‼️

FMC: Harper
MMC: Dylan, Silas, and Carter

Rebel Bloom did it again with this one, and I’m excited to read the rest of the Ex Marks the Spot series! I loved Harper’s character arc once Jake was out of the picture. Seeing the inner turmoil she faced while pretending to be something she’s not was heartbreaking. Even worse, the public opinion those chose to believe about her due to once being in a relationship with Jake the snake. I loved the witty banter between Harper and the guys, but I love how they fearlessly protected her when she was in danger. I think what I enjoyed the most though, outside of Harper being a complete bada**, and the relationship she had with her brothers, was the friendship she made with Casey. Seeing how alienated she was when Jake left and those who tossed her to the side after he was gone, was heartbreaking, and is very true of college culture when it comes to situations those supposed friends deem as a social faux pas.
I loved what a strong character Harper was and her knowledge of football and how she always get the guys on their toes. The football play they made after her was just the sweetest 😭😭😭

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 5/5 spice 🔥🤤

Overall this was a great read, and if you like reverse harem’s, a strong female lead, witty banter, and panty melting scenes, this book is for you.

This book was light and a bit cutesy, if you canǰ just let it be. There are some things you have to be able to just overlook, though. I also didn't care for how things were handled with Jake at the end, either.

Try not to dig in too deep or read to much into things,  and you might enjoy this book. It's hard for me,  though, seeing as the guys hated her for 2 years, then suddenly after Jake leaves her,  they don't anymore? That just felt a little of for me.  Heck, the book started with Silas being rude to her,  but that all went away simply beacuse her background wasn't what they thought?

I wish i could have felt more emotion from them all, too. I didn't feel a lot, so when they were messing with the picture after the win, I wasn't surprised. It didn't really shock me much.

Them there was the backlash. You're Teflon me that a group of guys are willing to attack, vandalize, and sexually assault a woman because of one random picture online? This is the age of the internet.  That crap is all over the place, and they can't handle it? These dudes deserved the beat down they got.

I wish we could have actually seen the comeuppance Jake received, rather than it just being from someone else's comments. I did like the freakout f grin him, but just wanted more.

If you want a light read, this one is pretty good,  just don't think about it to hard.

This was a good, quick, easy book. I actually tore through this book because it was such a fast read. I think the book is good for what it is. Like I wasn’t super super invested in like the lives of these characters because they didn’t really have a background or even uniqueness to them. Like yes they have their own personalities and all but I’m like their past and everything was very bleak. I was more invested in the story of Casey and the three brothers honestly. Just to find out they don’t have their own book so boo! But as far as the book itself, I enjoyed it. I liked the relationship between them all. Silas is probably my favorite because he’s like the morally gray one. I liked the football aspect and like having it be an equal part to the story. Another reason why it’s ranked kinda low is because the transition of moments and emotions were too quick. No depth. Like when Silas went from hating Harper to not, it was really quick and I’m like “mmmm I wish that was dragged out”. I mean all three of them really. Even the come together at the end was repetitive and then kinda quick. Idk. But again for what the book was, I liked it and I wanted to read another in the series, but there’s not a story for Casey and the brothers so idk if I will.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 – “My jaw dropped, my coffee spilled, and I regret nothing.”

Reading My Ex’s Roommates was like sneaking into a frat house armed only with sass, sarcasm, and a really good bra. Rebel Bloom delivered a spicy rom-com buffet with just enough chaos to make me question my life choices — in the best way possible.

Our heroine somehow ends up living with not one, not two, but three of her ex’s roommates. If you’re thinking “That sounds like the start of a bad idea,” congratulations! You’re correct. And yet… it’s delicious.

There’s steam, there’s banter, there’s emotional whiplash, and at one point I think my Kindle actually blushed. Each roommate has the charm of a golden retriever in a leather jacket, and our queen juggles them with the grace of someone who absolutely did not sign up for this mess but is somehow thriving in it.

Plot twist? I stayed for the spice, but fell in love with the surprisingly wholesome moments and chaotic group dynamics.

Final thoughts: It’s reverse harem, but make it funny, sexy, and slightly unhinged — like a rom-com met a fever dream and decided to co-parent.

Read it. Your inner goblin girl will thank you

You have to head this book!!

This book had me cackling at 2am in the morning 😂 Harper and Casey are hands down the best thing to happen in this book and I don’t care what anybody says! That friendship is everything.
The chapter where Casey tells Harper she’s her boyfriend now was hilarious, the chapter after where it’s (I think) Silas pov is hilarious, the chapter after that were it’s Harper POV and she wakes up in bed with Casey - absolutely amazing and hilarious! 😂

Jake is the human version of BV. That’s all I’ll say on him!

Coach hogan was brilliant - the more I think on it, the more I think the side characters were the best relationships in this book lol because not only was the coach and Casey brilliant, the mum was too when she was at the dinner with everyone! 😂

Anyway - read this book. It’s hilarious, I think I’ve said that a few times. It’s a good story line and plot - there’s smut but not so much you’re then skipping pages just to get to the story, and it doesn’t just come out of nowhere and smack you in the face. There’s lead up, context and relevance. It’s just a great book! READ IT!!! 15/20 recommend 🥰
