I loved these letters which seem to reveal another dimension of Dostoyevsky's complex genius. The letters do reveal with as much passion as many of his most outrageous characters. And Dostoyevsky was always attempting to do battle with his correspondents (his brother in particular) if they did not accept his judgments of other writers or thinkers. They also show a man who could be extremely courteous and caring toward his loved ones.
