The Lost Girls #5

Feeding Beauty

Rate this book
He can’t touch anyone without burning them.
I’ll sleep with anyone just to survive.

Born a princess. Cursed to be a succubus.
My hunger is fatal—and no one survives a night in my bed.

Now I’m in a city pulsing with magic, sex, and freedom, trying to rewrite my story.

But Talon followed me.

My guardian. My protector. My dragon.

He’s tall, dark, and deadly—black scales veined with fire. He never touches me.
But gods, he wants to. He’d burn the world down for me.

For years, he’s fed me lovers… then cleaned up the bodies left in my wake.

He’s the only man I’ve ever loved—and the one I can never touch.
His dragon fire would sear my skin. My hunger would devour him whole.
And we’ve never let ourselves want what we can’t survive.

Until now.

I’m starving, and Talon’s the only one who can help me feed without killing—but every time he does, we cross a line that might destroy us both.

And the woman who cursed me in my crib is back to finish what she started.
This time, she’ll burn through Talon—and the new life I’ve built—to do it.

This spicy Sleeping Beauty retelling is an interconnected standalone in the Lost Girls series with morally gray dragons, illicit feedings on strangers, and the kind of longing that hurts in all the right places.

3,25⭐ (I think?)

My opinions this far, don’t come for me: book 1 ok, book 2 so nice really enjoyed it, book 3 amazing loved it in the 2024 top10, book 4 and novella didn’t like them not for me.
Here from the blurb I felt potential, but also worry that some elements didn’t sound like my thing and guess my gut feeling was right.
Really enjoyed the most of it, main couple, story, characters interactions and the lost girls friendship (that’s the highlight of this series, I had missed that found family feel in book 4 and here it was strong, I had missed Cinder, my fav, so much!). Enjoyed Aurora's journey, her desire to take control of her life, to really live, for independence.
But most of the spice scenes were just not for me, not my thing, not a kind I want or like to read, I gave it a try but then skipped some; the fact Aurora needs sex to survive and can’t have it with Talon is literally the plot so it’s not really a fault of the book, it’s a subjective thing.
Erasing those, I enjoyed the rest, so, that said, liked Aurora and Talon, the tragic love, longing, trust and acceptance, and their sex scenes when they finally could (just them) were the hot spice I wanted to read!

Honorable mention for Cinder and Kai.

P.S. There’s a continuity error I think, I might be wrong but I don't think so now: it says here that vampires age slowly and Kai looks in his 20s but he’s actually 80, not possible. I re read Igniting Cinder and Kai says “Midnight fairies age at a normal rate until we hit our mid-twenties or early thirties and then it slows down from there”, since Kai was a kid (aging at a normal rate) when Cinder was also a kid, per the rules given he’s in his 20s, saying 80 now it’s a retcon.
(and one that still would not make sense because to be a kid, let’s say at most early teen, when Cinder was young, it would have taken him 70 years to go from baby to let’s say 14, then in a decade he went from 14 to 20es, so aged normal… should have taken him longer with this retconned rule)

This is a spicy retelling of Sleeping Beauty where the princess is cursed to be a Succubus and her protector is a dragon shifter. Aurora was cursed as a baby and as a Succubus is forced to feed off people’s sexual energy. Talon is the dragon her parents found to protect her because he is immune to her power’s influence. She is tired of living with the guilt for unaliving people because she has to feed, even if the men deserved their fate. She runs off to the Common World in search of The Poison Apple to start a new life and find herself. Talon is not only duty bound to protect her, he also can’t live without her. They both get jobs at the bar and she becomes a Lost Girl. Aurora is building a new life for herself but when the hunger hits, Talon takes charge and sets up a safe way for her to feed. The lines between them begin to blur as Talon becomes more of an active participant in her feeding. They are attacked and Talon looses his fire and for the first time they can be together. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long and the heartbreak is now a million times worse because they know how it feels to be together. They suspect that Mal, the Midnight Fae that cursed Aurora, is after her to finish the job. Aurora is stubborn, prideful and thinks she can outrun her curse and push down the hunger. Talon is overprotective and wants to see her happy but not at the expense of her life, even when that means she can’t be completely his. The mutual pining is epic with so much heartbreak. The spice burns hot with their fiery chemistry. Aurora comes into her own and when Talon is in trouble, she isn’t going to burn the world to find him, she’s going to devour it.

Feeding Beauty says it all in the title. Aurora's need to be fed is more than satiated when she is finally able to get her hands on the one that she truly loves. I love the slow burn that they are forced to have. Their need for each other is unmatched. Also, the Lost Girls are so welcoming of Aurora and I love that for her because that is exactly what she needs in her life! The storyline brings everything together in the way that leaves you feeling full and satisfied!

This was easily my least and most favorite book of the Lost Girls series. I was angered and upset with the fact that Aura has to sleep with and feed from literally any person on the planet but can’t even touch Talon. Like that is the worst torture I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I have also never been happier for two people by the end of the book.

The simple truth is I hated this book. Reverse Harem isn’t my thing. I checked several times to make sure bc the blurb made it seem like it was though it was listed as M/F so I downloaded it. It was a disappointment all around.

I could get behind Aurora being a succubus and having to feed off the sexual desires of her partner(s) for the night, but I don’t want to see two ppl so clearly in love with each other while one person (FMC) f*cks random ppl while the other person (MMC) watches (bc of course the other MMC’s skin would burn the FMC hence why they can’t be together 🙄). I couldn’t get behind his power being dampened enough they could finally be together physically, made promises to each other, and then a day or two later it gets ripped away as his powers come back right as she needs to feed on someone again so AGAINST HER WILL he takes her to the sex club. This felt too much like he was her pimp and I didn’t care for it. Also, even with him acknowledging to himself how they need to discuss this he doesn’t bring it up. She brings it up and apologizes 🤢 when he should’ve been the one apologizing to her.

And how dare the author make Kai out to be a villain. I have a hard time believing that someone who understood how awful and evil his own father was would blame a complete STRANGER for his father banishing his sister. Just out of the blue in a bar he yells out “YOU!” This was out of character for him and completely unnecessary. Leave him and Cinder alone, their book was the best one in this series.

And let’s not forget how when Aurora first meets Snow and Ariel they immediately take her to a tattoo shop. Can the girl take a min to settle into Boston first??? Not only that she gets a matching tattoo for the bar they all work at. What if it didn’t work out at the bar? She gets a whole slew of piercings and more tattoos and honestly it just feels like she traded one skin for another. Doesn’t feel like she did these things for herself but more out of rebellion and everyone else just feeds into these delusions. If she had came to Snow wanting to go to a tattoo shop then I can believe she did it for herself rather than her being peer pressured by these two strangers. This book tries too hard to force the “found family” trope on us and it falls short.

Another Lost Girl's story in the books and I am sooooo excited for this story to be shared. A Princess Succubus and her Dragon protector. Always so close but soooo far away. Aurora needs to feed and she takes lifeforms in her Succubus ways, Talon who can burn almost everything is there to choose who she feeds from and protects her while she does then cleans up any messes necessary.

This book is ridiculously spicy and full of inner turmoils. Being in love with someone you can't touch is heartbreaking on either side. The way this book sizzles, steams, switches positions and smacks that bottom is phenomenal.

I truly feel Aurora's story can relate to every single soul that feels held down by the weight of expectations and how breaking those chains to be authentic is your greatest power.

Feeding Beauty
Holy hell. Spicy on the first page. This is a spicy retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Aurora is cursed to be a Succubus who kills her partners. Talon, a dragon immune to her power, is hired to be her protector. He craves her but can never touch her. Tired of her cursed existence, her prison and carefully curated partners, Aurora runs off to join the Lost Girls. Fortunately, she is unable to lose her shadow.

Ahh the longing Talon has for Aurora… I have no words. He is a dragon and she is his precious treasure. She craves him just as much but their fate: “We’ll love each other till the day we die and never once be able to touch.” Aurora is determined to not only bend but break the rules. She pushes Talon to be not just her protector but her voyeuristic dom, can she push him enough so he blurs the lines more?

But as Aurora and Talon adjusts to their new life, Mal re-enters Aurora’s life to finish the job she failed… to kill Aurora. Talon won’t let that happen, “the only thing worse than wanting her…is the thought of losing her.”

The twists to the Sleeping Beauty plot is intriguing. The push-pull relationship between Aurora and Talon is typical of the charge and bodyguard in love. The fissures in their arrangement breaks achingly slowly and when it fully breaks, ohh that was naughty.

“Oh. Have you seen his wings?” Ariel jumps on the question train. “Um, yes,” I say. “His back ones anyway.” They both tilt their heads in confusion. “Does he have wings somewhere else?” Snow asks. 😂 I thought this would be related to the size of his wingspan 😉 but what comes later is not what’s expected…

This was a highly entertaining read with decent pacing. It’s not all smut. There is definitely a plot. I enjoyed this more than Blackmailing Belle.

This is book 5 in the Lost Girls series. It can be read as a standalone with casual appearances or mentions of other characters in the series. I have only read Blackmailing Belle (#4) and had no problems with this book at all.

Lastly, thank you to Holly Roberds for the digital ARC which allowed me to read and voluntarily provide an unbiased review.

I am obsessed with this series ! Each cover is more and more gorgeous ! This is one series I WILL be finishing !

But wow ! This book was amazing! A delicious spin on the fairytale of Princess Aurora ! Cursed by an enemy as a baby , Aurora soon realised the damage she’d rests by being alive .

The pining , yearning , the pain, the pent up tension and the jealousy was heavyyyyyy.. we love a jealous MMC, and Talon the protector gave just that ! Their raw need , passion and lust was everything and more ! .. I honestly felt for Aurora ,a victim of her own body . She was on the cusp between life and death . Torn apart by guilt and disgust and in a constant battle of survival.

Their chemistry was on FIRE! (Get it? He’s a dragon! 😉) Both being so close, inseparable but unable to touch had to be the most painful experience they both had to bare . Slowly watching the thread snap and the forbidden love had an opening was something I desperately needed . The most hottest retelling with the saddest love story ! A story of heartbreak, craving for a need and want for a love and a touch that they can’t have , and a story of true passion.

“ I’m here . I’ll always be here .”

I can’t wait to be back to Poison Apple for the other Lost Girls’s stories. I am obsessed with this series !! One book is never enough .. Like a succabus I NEED MORE !!

✨Received an ARC✨

Ok, this is officially my favorite book in this series.

This book is also hands down the spiciest book in the series 🥵.

Talon and Aurora are both cursed to be alone. Talon by nature; being most probably the last dragon, and someone who literally cannot be touched. Aurora by a curse placed on her when she was a baby; making her into a succubus and doomed to a life of endless hunger that leads to death for her lovers.

Talon is hired by her parents to protect her. His dragon shifter abilities make him immune to her magic and perfect to look over her. They spend six long years falling in love with each other, knowing they can never be with one another. So what do they do? Talon sits back and makes sure she’s “fed” and holds her collar 👀.

But the one who cursed her is back, and this time she’s not after aurora.

This book was spicy, heartfelt, and sad at times. They both get their happy endings but go through journeys to get there. With Aurora’s curse, Talon will do anything to keep her safe, including putting his and her feelings aside, so I’d say there is some dub-con in this book as well.

The one tiny overall complaint I have for the series is I’d like to see some more incorporation of the OG characters. We see some Goldie here and there, and this book has Cinder pop up, but I feel like Red has dropped off significantly in the series. I know their stories are “done,” but they are still Lost Girls, it’d be nice to still see them involved in some of the conflict resolution more.

I loved it!
I finished it so fast I just couldn’t put it down!
The characters the chemistry the action! I need more!!

I absolutely would recommend it to anyone who loves Disney gone bad retelling books that are filled with steamy scenes, action, you can look but not touch 👀 and he’s her protector tropes 🤭

The writing was amazing too so clean it was like I was inside the book myself!
This was definitely one of my favorite reads this month

I absolutely adore this series! Each book is so much fun and Feeding Beauty is no different!

Aurora is a succubus, cursed to relentlessly feed on the sexual pleasure of others. Talon is a dragon, the last of his kind and unable to touch anyone without burning them. Sworn to protect but unable to touch, Talon must watch from afar as Aurora satisfies her hunger with everyone except the one person she truly desires. The longing and pining between these two is amazing! It had me swooning, groaning and unable to put the book down.

The Lost Girls series is a spicy one, but Feeding Beauty turns up the heat! Even without being able to touch anyone, Talon finds ways to dominate the bedroom. Let’s just say that this is one dragon who shares his treasure…

Feeding Beauty is not just spice though. Like the rest of the books in The Lost Girls series, this is about women empowering women and strong female friendships. I love the dynamics between all the Lost Girls and it was great to get to know Snow and Ariel a bit better in this book. Don’t worry though, we still get to spend time with some of the original Lost Girls and find out how they’re getting on with their Happily Ever Afters!

If you love fairytale retellings with plenty of spice and a healthy dose of found family, then this is the series for you. Thank you so much to Holly for my ARC of this fantastic book!

Feeding Beauty is a spicy retelling of Sleeping Beauty that twists the familiar lore in delightfully depraved ways. True to form, the author doesn’t hold back on the spice; it hits from page one, immediately immersing readers in the intense, simmering desire between the two main characters. The pacing is fast, but it never skimps on the details. Instead, it mirrors the urgency of the plot, pulling you along at a gripping, angsty pace.

Aurora was cursed as a baby (an act of vengeance aimed at her father, the king) but no one knew the true nature of the curse until it violently manifested after her first sexual encounter. The revelation? She’s a Succubus, doomed to survive on the sexual energy of others to satiate a relentless, all-consuming hunger. Tragically, her inexperience combined with the sheer intensity of her hunger turns fatal. Each encounter ends in death, as she’s unable to control herself in those vulnerable moments. No one is safe from her influence, but especially those she shares intimacy with. Desperate to save their daughter and protect those around her, her parents turn to a Dragon shifter, the only being whose ancient magic can neutralize her deadly allure. He’s immune to her power and, more importantly, strong enough to keep her from losing complete control. With no other options, he becomes her protector, and her provider, bringing her those who deserve death, so she can feed without guilt. What follows is a twisted, slow-burn dynamic between a cursed Succubus and the Dragon meant to guard her. For seven long years, they circle one another, desire simmering just beneath the surface. Why haven’t they acted on it? Not just because of royal decorum, or the bodyguard-princess dynamic, but because the Dragon burns, literally. His touch sears flesh, making physical contact impossible. The result? A dangerous, emotionally charged, angst-ridden bond. The heart of the story is their yearning. It's a slow, aching build of forbidden desire between two powerful beings who crave what they can’t have.

This is by far the spiciest installment in the series, thanks to Aurora’s succubus curse which naturally ramps up the heat. Fluid sexuality is portrayed seamlessly and organically; Aurora’s need to feed on sexual energy transcends gender, and while she leans toward men, she doesn’t discriminate. We’re treated to some deliciously steamy group scenes in a sex club and an unforgettable FF moment in a seedy hotel that seriously turns up the heat. Talon’s presence, though often on the sidelines, is electric. His Dom energy is unmatched: commanding, controlled, and impossibly hot. His dirty talk is next-level, and the fact that he’s spent years observing Aurora, learning her body, and becoming an expert in her pleasure only heightens the tension. And then comes the reveal: he’s a virgin. That twist adds a surprisingly sweet and emotional depth to his otherwise dominant persona when they finally have a chance to act on their feelings. What really stood out, though, was his inner struggle with the battle between the Dragon’s instinct to hoard and possess, versus the man who understands Aurora’s needs and supports her, even when it means letting others bring her release. That blend of primal desire and deep emotional maturity made their dynamic all the more compelling.

But beyond the spice, Aurora’s curse explores deeper, more heartbreaking territory; challenging her understanding of intimacy, relationships, and her own self-worth. It’s a devastating way to live. Even without the added pain of her and Talon being unable to touch, Aurora is isolated by the very nature of her curse. Any emotional or physical connection risks spiraling into deadly consequences, as her loss of control can kill the person she's with. Talon may be her anchor as someone who shares the weight of her loneliness and provides a sense of safety, but that doesn't erase the ache. There's a persistent sadness woven through her story, a longing for real connection that feels just out of reach. Watching her navigate that emotional isolation, even with someone who cares deeply for her, is deeply affecting and lingers long after the page. This also makes her journey into friendship all the more powerful. Snow and Ariel are there for her in every sense of the word. Just as present, just as loyal, and just as devoted as Talon, in every way but one (i.e. sex). Their love and support offer Aurora something she’s never had: connection without fear. And that, in contrast to all she’s lost, is incredibly moving.

One of the standout strengths of this series is its powerful use of the found family trope and this book, in particular, does a beautiful job of deepening that theme. We see the bond between the three newer Lost Girls really begin to solidify, alongside more time spent with Rap, their boss and the enigmatic owner of The Poison Apple. At its heart, this story (and the series as a whole) celebrates women empowering women and the strength found in female friendships. The dynamics are fun, supportive, and refreshingly healthy, showcasing the kind of friendships where you're accepted wholly, flaws and all. Watching the Lost Girls welcome each new member with open arms is a joy every single time, and this book is no exception. Their unconditional acceptance and fierce loyalty are truly the soul of the series.

If you love mutual pining, years of longing, and that star-crossed lovers energy, this story will absolutely deliver. It’s a masterclass in slow-burning tension. It's an aching, bittersweet journey that makes their eventual happily ever after all the more satisfying. The depth of their yearning is both heartbreaking and beautiful, and it adds so much emotional weight to their story. What’s especially compelling is how the book balances that slow-burn romance with high heat, thanks to Aurora’s succubus curse. It challenges traditional relationship dynamics in fascinating ways as it blurs the lines between need, desire, and emotional intimacy. The result is a relationship that simmers with tension while exploring what it means to connect beyond just physical touch. While I should have seen how things would unfold between them, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised by how it all wrapped up. I do wish there had been a bit more explanation tied to the resolution, but in the end, it gave us exactly what we were hoping for: Aurora and Talon, finally together.

I really enjoyed the clever twists on the original Sleeping Beauty storyline. Instead of a prince rescuing Aurora, we get a dragon shifter as the love interest, which is especially satisfying considering that, in the classic tale, the prince defeats the dragon. Here, the dragon is the love interest, protector, and emotional anchor. And rather than sleeping passively for a hundred years, this Aurora is forced to sleep with people to survive. An inversion that’s both darkly ironic and deeply compelling. I also love how the series blends paranormal romance with urban fantasy. The modern-day setting is grounded and familiar, but the existence of realm-jumping adds a fantastical layer that brings in the magic and wonder of traditional fairy tales. And because realm travel is known and accepted within the world, it creates a seamless fusion of the contemporary and the otherworldly, giving the story both grit and enchantment.

While this is book five in the series, and it technically works as a standalone, I’d strongly recommend starting from the beginning. Holly Roberd has crafted a richly interconnected world, with recurring characters and threads that weave through each book. The Poison Apple bar, for instance, plays a larger role in this installment and its significance really lands if you've been following the series. Will you be lost if this is your first read? Not at all. But to fully appreciate the world-building and layered character dynamics, diving in from book one is absolutely worth it.

If you love fairy tale retellings packed with plenty of spice, emotionally rich plots, and strong, empowering female characters, this book, and the entire series, is definitely for you.

It is time to shout about one of my favorite series again!

Feeding Beauty is the fifth standalone book in the Lost Girls series, a paranormal romance fairytale retelling series where each book follows a different couple/fairytale. I LOVE this series so much, and it honestly has my favorite fairytale retellings.

Feeding Beauty is the retelling of Sleeping Beauty. The story follows Aurora and Talon. She’s a princess cursed to be a succubus, he’s a dragon shifter, her protector and the one who finds the people to bring to Aurora’s bed in order for her to feed. There’s a strong connection between them, bur Talon is the only man Aurora can never touch because his body is made of black scales and veins of fire. There’s ANGST! But then Aurora runs away, and he follows her.

Again, THE ANGST! This is probably the book in the series with the most yearning. There are feelings between Aurora and Talon, but the fact that they cannot touch makes my shipper heart feel for them so much. Their longing is excruciating…just how we like it, right? However, that does not mean the book is not spicy. Aurora is a succubus after all, and we get to see several instances of her power in full force. And Talon may or may not like to watch. But it will come as no surprise when I say I shouted in victory when we do finally find a way for Aurora and Talon to come together.

Also, as a fan of the series, I always love seeing Rap and her Lost Girls, both old and new!

Here are some tropes!

If you are not into sharing and dubious cheating (yes that’s a new term from me) this one is not for you
If you are not into voyeurisme/foursome then this one is not for you.

I knew what the story was about before starting but I am still pissed at the execution.
Honestly, I can’t really call this a love story…mainly because Aurora enjoyed herself while f*** other person, and poor Talon had to watch!!

Ok we are told she wished it was Talon, but it’s not as painful as you could expect.
She just f**** other and goes on her merry way.
And please, we have that dynamic for more than 60% into the book!!! I thought we will have one scene with a bad guy to explain the situation and then they will start working on finding a way to be together… but no the s3x with others keep escalating. Especially as she has all her first with other people, she couldn’t just save one thing for Talon (like you know “I do everything but I don’t kiss”)!! Sorry but I didn’t want that. And she f*** hot people not only the criminals that deserved to die!!

So yes 60% into the book I started skipping pages, because they were not really trying to be together!!!
I would rather kill myself before having to watch the person I love f**** 4 different people in front of me!!

Just treat this book as an erotica one and you won’t be disappointed, but don’t read it if you want a love story with all pain and angst and braving everything together

This is the 5th book in The Lost Girls series.

Aurora has been cursed by a witch to be a succubus. She hates that is her fate and that she is forced to kill people.

Talon is a dragon and Aurora’s bodyguard. He is the only one immune to Aurora’s charms.

Aurora decides she’s had enough of that life and escapes to the “real world”. Talon of course tracks her down. They both have had feelings for each other but Talon’s heat keeps them from being together.

The pining/angst between these two characters was heartbreaking. Talon would do anything to protect her.
The book had a really sweet found family aspect.

This is the second book I’ve read in this series and I’ve really enjoyed them both. I can’t wait to read more in the series.

Holly has quickly shot up to be one of my all time favorite authors!! And this book may be the best one yet!! Aurora was absolutely amazing with how she was able to grow up in such strict conditions, and still find her own strength to go away and build the life she wanted! The way that she blossomed into her power, accepting the love and friendship and support along the way, while maintaining her sense of self and her values, was just incredible! She fit so seamlessly into the Lost Girls, and it was so heartwarming! And Talon's sheer determination to watch over Aura and keep her safe and taken care of, even to his own detriment, was wonderful to see! The way he stayed her rock and her safe place amid the chaos just warmed my heart so deeply! The way these two were so intertwined and learned how to see each other and communicate through Aurora's fight for independence was just absolute perfection! And all the time we got with Rap and the Lost Girls was just an blast and a half, as usual! I wish we would have gotten to see more of Goldie and Red and their men, but that's just because I'm selfish and vaguely addicted to this whole girl gang!! Overall this book was stunning and absolutely had my emotions going at full speed!! I loved this one so much! 5 stars; 4.25 chili peppers

Beware. Lots of nitpicking here. I’ve been severely chastised for this in other reviews as the readers are so enamored with the story/characters that I should be boiled in oil for pointing out discrepancies, spelling errors, etc.

Aurora comes across as an airhead, believing what she wants, not what is. She whines about not having friends yet indicates in Chapter 6, “I’ve always been well liked in school...” She may not have had besties but it seems she did interact with others. After all, killing her first crush meant she had physical contact with him. Other parts of the story make it sound like she was trapped in her room 24/7.

Aurora is claiming success for not killing Merry while feeding because she’s in the Common World. “For the first time in my entire life, I fed, and I didn’t kill anyone. That’s never happened before. Not once.” This makes absolutely no sense since the only reason she didn’t kill Merry is because Talon forcibly pulled her away, something he could also accomplish in the Realm of Roses. Talon immediately points out that she’s still hungry so ultimately the experiment isn’t successful.

Chapter 24 (After fighting vampires) When the smoke clears, he’s human again. Naked. Bleeding.

Chapter 25 (Right after the above fight) Talon: We rush to undo my pants...

Talon was naked a very short time before this so where did the pants come from?

Aurora’s reasoning at the end of Chapter 33 proves just how fucking stupid and hard-headed she is.

I hope Aurora realizes that the attack by Mal and her vampires may have been prevented had she returned to the Realm of Roses when Talon wanted to. At the very least Mal wouldn’t have been able to ingest his blood.

Aurora doesn’t want Mal eliminated because Mal claims she can reverse the succubus curse. Even if she did I don’t see that it would make any difference for Aurora and Talon since he’ll still be a dragon whose skin will burn anyone who touches him. It would, however, eliminate the necessity for her to feed off humans which, now that I think about it, would be incentive enough.

Okay, why did Mal release the curse or did it just happen spontaneously?

Chapter 39 Flames erupt. The fire quickly eats away both our clothes, hot enough to disintegrate even his fae leathers.

[When they fly away after the soul (or whatever it was) exchange] The heat of him sears through my clothes, but not my skin.

Once again clothing miraculously reappears.

Overall I liked the story although the final battle and bonding were a bit over the top for me. I really enjoyed when Aurora was transformed into a Lost Girl and her initial struggles working at the bar. It made her more relatable.

That damn cat.

OMG TALON! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! His dedication and protectiveness…..😫 UGH so good! Like holy fuck the yearning throughout this book is just so fucking good!

Okay, I gotta shout out to my girl Aurora! Her growth through this book is absolutely astounding! It is an amazingly beautiful transformation and I am in awe of her! She becomes such a fucking badass!

There’s only 1 thing I wish that I didn’t get from this book…..I wish we got to attend a certain event that occurred. Would have loved to see all the past lost girls there and their interactions! But I honestly love this series so much so far and I highly enjoyed the dynamic in this one. It was lot different than the others and it was amazing!

I received this book as an ARC.

Let me just say WOW! Holly did not disappointed. This is the 5th book in the Lost Girl Series but you do not need to read the others to read this.

There is a little spice on the first page and only gets hotter as the book goes on. Aurora is cursed but her curse is ‘feeding’ on people sexual. Her dragon protector Talon will find people for her to feed on. He is also cursed in a sense since no one can touch him without burning. She eventually sneaks away from her castle and comes across Rap and the other lost girls and becomes one herself. As you can imagine, her and Talon fall in love but can’t touch each other.

I love the Lost Girl Series and can’t wait to see who Holly writes about next.

I definitely recommend this one and the other books.

I loved loved loved this book.
A new lost girl, Aurora, trying to find her freedom, and Talon joins her as her protector. Even if it’s from herself.
There are some of the previous/OG lost girls dropping in and making an appearance and giving updates.
I loved Aurora trying to break out on her own, that Talon was along for the ride. They made a really great couple and the chemistry is written well. You were hoping everything would work out for them.
I think there is a good balance to the story, to be able to fully explain why Aurora wants her freedom, what the impact of her life has been on her, the impact on Talon protecting her, the development of their relationship and how that builds to the crux of the book.

The very first line is enough spice to make you blush... that's your introduction to this page turner!

What do you expect when the FMC is a Succubus!?! As you turn those pages you'll find new depth to the love story, the characters and the plot!

I love how interwoven the Lost Girls stories are together while still maintaining their own world within a world. It's what makes these fun and addictive. I'm excited we've got even more coming in 2026!!!!

Lost Girls, assemble! Get ready to fly into a world of intrigue with a Dragon, Talon, whose touch will burn, and not in a good way, and lured by a Succubus, Aurora, whose been cursed by Mal, the exiled daughter of the old King Charming and Kai’s older sister, to always need to feed to the point of killing. Her parents find Talon, who’s immune to her sexual lure and can’t be touched or touch without burning someone, he’s the last of his and perfect to guard and protect her. He finds her feeders who deserve the fate they get when she feeds from them. Aura is tired of her gilded cage and chains, so she runs away to Boston and the Poison Apple, the perfect place for someone lost and wanting to find themselves, a Lost Girl. Get ready for heat, pain, a little violence, I love Snow, and two people who love each other to the point that she refuses to feed anymore. When they get one night together, it’s so hot it’ll burn your house down. And then Mal strikes and takes Talon and Aura reached inside herself for a power that’s always been there and control the hunger that used to control. Our newest Lost Girl will do whatever it takes to get her Dragon back, even if it means burning with him

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this. If you like spice, romance, retellings, and the darker side of things then you really need to read this author’s Lost Girl series.

Feeding Beauty takes on retelling the story of Sleeping Beauty in a dark, sexy, lust-filled way that is bittersweet, exhilarating, and endearing all at the same time. This isn’t the Princess Aurora story you think you know. It’s a story about hunger, desire, imprisonment, longing, inner demons, good intentions with poor execution, consequences, revenge, and real love.

I loved the tension between Talon and Aurora; the deep yearning but not being able to touch was just…crazy. I felt it so deeply every time. I felt like I was on a roller coaster of emotions, going up and down as Aurora tries to conquer her curse and discover who she truly is, and as Talon keeps emotional distance to protect but wars with himself over seeing Aurora not get what she needs.

I enjoyed every moment from beginning to end!

Spice straight from the first page. The first chapter’s called ‘Best Seat In The House’, but I know Talon would rather touch her than watch the show. How horrible a fate to love and be loved in return, but not be able to do anything about it. Not to mention Aurora’s curse makes it so easy for her to kill people.

They go through so, so much on their way to their HEA. Good thing they have friends like the Lost Girls, their mates, and an awesome … well, I guess you’ll have to read to see!

I love this series. Author Holly Roberd is so incredibly talented. I greedily snatch up every single one of her books.

Aurora and Talon
Another Lost girl story to bring us all the heat and spicy we didn't know we needed. I don't know how Holly does it. I love how she meshes the fairytales with such fun uniqueness. Aurora is our main character who was cursed at birth. Talon is our protector who can't touch Aurora without killing her. Let the tension build. We get to see all our favorite Lost Girls and meet some new characters that bring there own fun and drama. This books is highly spicy and very addicting. You could read this as a standalone but I would highly recommend starting at book one. There are some beautiful editions of these books coming out and I want them all.

Lovely addition to this series. Fantastic new ladies, smoldering MMC. A sassy story of the FMC finding herself and redeeming her love amongst the angtsy turmoil the vengeful heart of another inflicted upon her. Love how this advanced the storyline as well, getting to see more of several previous characters, and a war to bring balance. I do recommend!

When you read a book about a succubus, you expect it to be spicy. And yes, this book was spicy but the way Holly wove in the emotion and longing from both the FMC and MMC into all the spicy scenes/encounters made it SO much more than just a spicy scene. The star-crossed lovers trope can feel exhausting but I never felt that here. The only confusing part was at the end when everything was falling into place. Otherwise, this was everything I wanted from the Lost Girls series!! I also loved getting the escaped flutterbun Easter egg and a scene with Tink! Cannot wait to get Snow’s story!

She's done it again, every Lost Girls book just gets better and better. The longing in this book is palpable. Oh and if you thought Tasting Red got hot quick, you're in for a ride here.
This is basically second gen Lost Girls. They're feisty and talented and Aurora really completes the trio at the Poison Apple.
Talon is officially the best dragon ever. No one will top him. His broody attitude and no nonsense approach to dealing with a raging succubus is peak.
This book really adds to the larger world lore and I love it. The world building in this series has been fun so far, but this really took it the next level.

Feeding Beauty turned up the spice in the best way possible. I’m completely hooked on these characters and this world—the way each book weaves into the series without overshadowing the others is absolute perfection. The drama? Impeccable. The Sleeping Beauty twist? Brilliantly done. And the dragon… let’s just say he’s dangerously irresistible.
