What’s a gal on the run to do when a handsome stranger proposes?

When whimsical Sadie Brandywine went into hiding to evade her manipulative stepfather, she hardly expected the chivalrous cowboy who discovered her to propose marriage to protect her reputation. All she’s ever wanted was a proper home and family. Could this be her chance?

Jacob Willets has one to start the first school in his remote area of Washington Territory. The most scholarly cowboy on his family’s ranch, he’s more comfortable with his books than the ladies, so he’s shocked when Sadie accepts his proposal. But he quickly learns that nothing about Sadie is as simple as yes or no.

Between his boisterous matchmaking family and the danger stalking Sadie, Jacob’s dreams begin to change. Now he just has to find a way to convince Sadie to turn their marriage of convenience into a true love match.

If you like warm, witty historical romances, then you’ll love this feel-good story set in the Pacific Northwest by an award-winning, bestselling author.

Regina Scott started writing novels in the third grade. Thankfully for literature as we know it, she didn’t actually sell her first novel until she had learned a bit more about writing. Since her first Regency romance was published in 1998, her stories have traveled the globe, with translations in many languages including Dutch, German, Italian, and Portuguese. She is now the author of more than 50 works of warm, witty historical romance.

She and her husband of 30 years reside in Washington State on the way to Mt. Rainier. Regina Scott has driven four in hand, learned to fence, sailed on a tall ship, and dressed as a Regency dandy, all in the name of research, of course. Hideaway Frontier Bride is a fun quick read historical fiction novel that follows the adventures of a young woman named Sadie who is fed up with her mother enabling her stepfather's gambling habits and decides to run away. In a twist of fate she manages to catch the attention of a handsome cowboy named Jacob. He proposes marriage and Sadie needing the security to get away from her family decides to accept! However, will it be enough to keep her stepfather at bay?

Overall this was a very heartwarming novel. I always enjoy a nice prairie romance story so this book hit the spot. This book will be released on October 6th so everyone else will have the opportunity to experience it!

Jacob and Sadie were such kind and sweet characters. I loved the way that they both did all they could to make their sudden marriage a happy one. They both put each other first and made every effort to get to know each other and turn their marriage of necessity into a marriage of love.

It was refreshing to see Sadie fit into Jacob’s big family so nicely after having been stuck in a life that was not a good one. I really felt for her and the fears she carried about her stepfather discovering where she was.

This story is a great addition to the Frontier Brides series but can easily be enjoyed on its own as well.

I appreciate that I can count on Regina Scott to write clean and inspiring romance. This story has a simple premise: Sadie runs away from a bad situation and Jacob provides the new start on life she needs. Some of my favorite scenes are with Sadie and the children at the school house. She does make a pretty good teacher! Sadie and Jacob’s relationship is tender and a delight to watch unfold. I am enjoying reading about the Willets family and look forward to more of their stories.

I received an early copy of this book. A positive review was not required. This is my honest opinion.

I loved this little romance between strangers. And in addition to our love interests, I also love this large family who work together to make everyone's life better. Oh to be as wise as that mother.
It's a sweet story in a fun series.

Another delightful historical Western romance from Regina Scott! Hideaway Frontier Bride is the third enjoyable installment in the Frontier Brides series & includes a swoon worthy strangers to more, forced marriage/marriage of convenience romance with an unexpected meet cute. Sadie & Jacob may be opposites, but they’re perfect for each other.

After Sadie Brandywiner’s forced by her conniving step-father to take her mother’s place singing in a saloon, Sadie decides to run away. Hiding away in an abandoned blockhouse, she surprises a handsome stranger who also has uses for the building. Their unexpected meeting causes an accident leading to Sadie & Jacob spending time alone together. To preserve her reputation, Jacob asks her to marry him. What follows is a lovely, heartfelt romance between a handsome, shy, bookworm & the vivacious, outgoing Sadie. But, will her past & the secret she’s keeping threaten her new found happiness & future?

Jacob Willets’ the most scholarly of his nine siblings & more than anything wants to start a school for the local children. Meeting Sadie throws his orderly world into chaos. When his mother suggests he marry her to save her reputation, he’s shocked when Sadie agrees. Their whirlwind marriage though is an unexpected blessing. Jacob’s not had much luck with the ladies despite his handsome good looks & intelligence, but in their brief meeting Sadie sees all his admirable qualities. As they get to know each other, they find they have more in common than they thought. When Jacob suggests Sadie become the new school teacher, she proves an excellent choice. But, when her past comes back to haunt her, can Jacob protect their new found happiness?

I thoroughly loved this story! Sadie’s a ray of sunshine who’s eager to learn new things. I loved her teaching escapades, & hers & Jacob’s slow burn, forced proximity romance. Jacob’s a chivalrous, thoughtful hero who’s patient & kind even with Sadie’s disastrous cooking. I loved the perfect way these too complimented each other & worked to make their marriage a success.

The Willets family’s such a joy! Looking forward to the next sibling’s story. I received an advanced copy from the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

With a shortage of women in their town, Jacob Willets may have a problem finding a bride. He is also very occupied with working on a way for the town to start a school for the town's children. So when he is working in the blockhouse to set up the classroom, he never expects to find a woman hiding in the upper floor of the building. The shock has him falling down the stairs, knocking himself out. When he comes to, he has a badly sprained ankle and his horse has run home. When his siblings come to find him, he invites the young lady to come home with him.

Sadie Brandywine is trying to hide from her stepfather who is a gambler. He wants her to sing in a local saloon since her mom was not up to singing. Her mother has worked as a professional singer for years to support the family. They are always on the move due to the gambling step father. Sadie does not want that life.

When Jacob's mother finds out that the two of them were alone for quite awhile in the blockhouse, she encourages Jacob to propose marriage. He is very surprised when she immediately accepts his proposal. She has always wanted a home and family. Since they are virtually strangers, they will have to get to know one another after the wedding.

I loved how Jacob wanted to be a good husband so he was even willing to read a book given to him by the pastor's wife on that subject. Since he is more comfortable with books than with women, he has a lot to learn. He can tell she seems to be keeping something from him and he wants her to grow to trust him so she can share her concerns.

I love this large loving and boisterous Willets family. With so many still unmarried children, I'm sure there will lots of other stories.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

This particular installment of the series is my favorite for a couple of reasons, but the main one is the parallels to Regency culture that made me smile. That is my favorite era to read about, and how I discovered the author's books to begin with.

I love the use of the compromised trope here. He was unconscious for most of the time they were together unchaperoned, but it was a humorous take on the meet cute as Jacob falls off the ladder in surprise. And the book that Jacob reads about how to be a good husband also reminded me of the Regency conduct books.

Another reason I really enjoyed this novel was the emphasis on loving others, even though they are imperfect. The large Willets clan repeatedly tells Sadie that they aren't perfect, but they are family. It was a good reminder that relationships are not meant to be disposable and we don't stop loving when someone disappoints us or makes a mistake.

I highly recommend this story (and series) to those who enjoy stories with frontier settings outside the norm, those who like marriage of convenience tales, or novels with a large, loving family dynamic.

I received a review copy of this book but was not required to post a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are both honest and my own.

Reading Hideaway Frontier Bride by Regina Scott was like a breath of fresh air. I have read the other books in the series and I found this one most enjoyable. After a day in our chaotic present world I couldn't wait to pick up this book and read of lives shaped by honor and their recognition of God working out the challenges they faced.

The Willets family of Hawks Prairie, Washington Territory are a ranch family raising cattle on the plateau above Puget City. The older brothers, Jesse, Jack, and Jeremy have married ( their stories were in earlier books);Jack, Jeremy, and their wives live on the ranch with the family. This story is about Jacob and his bride Sadie, a lovely young woman who has run away and is hiding from her step-father in the blockhouse planned to house Jacob’s dream - a school for Hawks Prairie. Their accidental meeting begins their relationship. As situations arise for the entire family, the wisdom of Pa and Ma Willets really shines through.

I am a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest. Ms. Scott’s well-researched stories are a fun peek into life on the Washington frontier. I highly recommend this book. I read this story as an ARC reader.

‘Sometimes a lady had to risk everything for a chance at a better life.’ So begins Regina Scott’s third sweet and clean Frontier Brides book. Combine a young lady running away from being forced into performing in saloons by her manipulative step-father for the rest of her life, with a studious young man wanting to establish the first school in Hawks Prairie and you have the makings of this new story. This time, it is a marriage of convenience after Sadie spent several hours alone with Jacob without a chaperone, albeit with Jacob unconscious for part of that time. Faith, hope, love and what makes a true family are major themes in this 'strangers to lovers' story. I really enjoyed the journey of discovery Ms Scott takes her readers on as Jacob and Sadie get to know, trust and come to love each other - I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series! I received an ARC of this book by the author and all the opinions expressed in this review are my own and freely given.

Hideaway Frontier Bride by Regina Scott
Frontier Brides Series Book Three
Jacob Willets has been working hard to establish a school. Hopefully, they could find a teacher soon, before they chose to use the blockhouse for another purpose. What he didn’t expect to find there was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.
Sadie Brandywine wasn’t sure where she’d go, but for now, this vacant building was a great place to hide. She refused to do anything against her morals, and what Chauncy had made her do the other night was too much. She refused to stay. The fear of his finding her has stayed with her, though. And now, she’s been discovered. The building wasn’t as vacant as she first thought.
Regina Scott has a way with stories, and this one is no different. I love the Willets family. Each personality has its unique quirks.

A well written story of strength, love and self worth.
The author does a wonderful job of creating believable characters with a plot line that keeps the reader engaged.
I enjoyed the hero and heroine as they learn to settle into a relationship and support each other. I also enjoyed how they learn to be better versions of themselves due to faith, hope and love.
This is part of a series, each book can be read a a standalone but I have enjoyed each in sequence as the various characters have their own unique story that continues throughout.
I received an ARC copy of the book and all opinions are my own.

This is a light and fun Western romance. Sadie is a cheerful and exuberant character. I loved her optimistic and grateful outlook, and her determination to work hard and to learn how to be a good wife. Jacob is great as well, and their romance is well done. This is a feel-good book with a strong emphasis on family. Though a little slow in parts, it’s a charming and enjoyable read.

There is a light Christian message throughout, with prayer and scripture.

Content:
There is no foul language or sex, and the violence is minimal. The romance is limited to lightly descriptive kisses. This is a Christian book.

Regina Scott has outdone herself with this latest edition in the Frontier Brides series. No cookie-cutter hero or heroine allowed. Instead, Regina treats us to two people who on the surface are wrong for each other, but who soon discover that they could be perfect together … if only there weren’t others trying to keep them apart. Combine these unusual characters with lyrical prose and vivid descriptions of Washington Territory and you have a book that I found unputdownable. My only regret was that the book ended. I wanted to spend more time with Sadie and Jacob.

I just love Regina Scott's style of writing. It is unique, light. and enjoyable. It's great for a medium-length vacation from your day. I really enjoyed Sadie's optimism and sunshine attitude. I love how, despite the marriage being unplanned for, Jacob strives his best and studies up on how to be a good husband. I loved the way the entire Willets family are tight knit and stand up for each other. They are very loyal to each other. There are no swears or alcohol and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV.

This was a fun sweet romance using the trope strangers to true love. And, yes, I shed a few tears. All while doing a lot of smiling, just because I thoroughly enjoyed my time within this story. Note: and folks think life is hard now. Happy Reading ! !

I absolutely adored Hideaway Frontier Bride. Sadie and Jacob’s love story brought tears to my eyes more than once. Watching them navigate their relationship and work towards the marriage they both desired was such a sweet journey that no reader will want to miss.

I will say that Hideaway Frontier Bride really made me think. Mostly about what life was truly like in the late 1800s, for everyone but most especially for women. Being forced into a compromising or unwanted situation by someone who is supposed to want the best for you isn’t unusual even today, but the lack of options these women had is terrifying. Plus, the potential of being trapped for life because of something completely innocent? And cooking… just wow. I’m not sure if it was the book itself or just what I focused on, but I felt much more connected to Jacob and Sadie because of how we were immersed in their homesteading.

If you love historical romance, sweet romance, or just a great book, then Hideaway Frontier Bride is a must-read. It’s definitely a keeper, just like Regina Scott’s other books. I always make sure to keep a shelf clear for her novels!

Another fun addition to Scott's Frontier Brides series. I thoroughly enjoyed finding out what things Sadie has to learn about life on the frontier and what she already knows. Most of the characters are very loveable, but then there are the villains... I wish I didn't have to wait a whole year for the next one!!!

I love spending time with the Willets. This latest visit is the story of bookish Jacob and his bride, Sadie. She is not my favorite heroine, but her vivacity is perfect for Jacob. The two overcome every obstacle from scandalous parents to opening a school on the prairie. Looking forward Jane’s story next!

Hideaway Frontier Bride (Frontier Brides Book 3) by Regina Scott (Edwards and Williams, October 2025) is a witty, charming, clean historical western romance. It was a quick, easy read with a well-written story that emphasized second chances, love and family. Sadie Brandywine and Jacob Willetts were a charming, sweet couple, and how they navigated their way to their happily ever after put a smile on my face and a glow in my heart. Once again, Ms. Scott has done a wonderful job of creating characters that are relatable and genuine. Her knack for seamlessly weaving historical and sensory details into her stories gave this book flavor and depth.

Hideaway Frontier Bride is book three in Ms. Scott’s “Frontier Brides” series, and though each book can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the books in order; the Willetts are a large family and have been recurring characters. I highly recommend!

I received this ARC in eBook format from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hideaway Frontier Bride: A Sweet, Clean Western Romance by Regina Scott is book three in the Frontier Bride series. Sadie Brandywine goes into hiding to evade her stepfather. When Sadie is discovered by Jacob Willets in his barn his mom insists, they get married.

This was a fun, heartwarming, and sweet romance. I have not read the other books in the series, but had no trouble keeping up. It was a delight to watch Jacob and Sadie fall in love and overcome their pasts. I adored Jacob’s big close-knit family that brought humor, beauty, and life to the story. I am hoping to watch the rest of the kids marry in future stories from their ranch in the Pacific Northwest.

This was a cozy, enjoyable and heartwarming story that was a quick fun read! I was invested in the characters and cheered them on to their happily ever after. The author is one of my long-time favorites. I recommend Hideaway Frontier Brides by Regina Scott!

Regina Scott has done it again with this book. I couldn’t put it down because I got so caught up in the characters. Sadie is on the run, hiding in the upper level of a blockhouse, and Jacob Willets comes from one of the most respected families in the Washington Territory. How these two find each other is surprising, yet handled with such respect. The story draws you in, especially as Sadie’s complicated past comes to light, and their eventual connection completely surprised me. I loved it and highly recommend this book.
