In the second installment of the Suziri Rielle has a secret that no one knows except her dragon, Donia, and a foreign prince, and that's the way she wants to keep it...

When an unexpected attack forces Rielle and Donia to transfer from the Suziri mountain stronghold to the palace— Rielle’s least favorite place— her life as a Suziri dragonrider flips upside down, and her secret threatens to be exposed.

As Rielle struggles to perform in training, compete for palace missions and hunt for rebels, unexpected enemies lurk around every corner. Old friends bring new problems, and rivals work to make her miserable. Despite her dragon’s eagerness to embrace danger, Rielle must fight to keep her secret buried, or else her life as she knows it is over.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book, as much as the first, maybe even more.

Rielle and her dragon Donia are transferred to the Palace, the last place Rielle wants to be, hoping it's only for a short stay. Unfortunately, she ends up staying. The longer she stays at the palace, the greater the chance of the imperial administration finding out Rielle's secret.

I really like the descriptions of Rielle and Donia's powers, which are gaining swiftly. My favorite part of any dragon story is the relationship between human and dragon, and this book has it in spades.

I am looking forward to the next one!
