كتاب قصير لكن هذه الفلسفة الروسية تأخذك لبعيد وتأسرك. يتحدث الفيلسوف عن مفهوم الحياة ليحاول أن يعلمك أن تعيش الحياة ، الحياة فقط دون أن تنشغل بمفاهيم السعادة. لم أنسى قساوته عندما نَهر الطفلة التي استنجدت به ليساعد أمها التي كانت تحتضر بالشارع ، لأنه كان في قرارة نفسه يريد الإنتحار وموقف بطولي كهذا لن يعنيه طالما انه سيضع في تلك الليلة حداً لحياته.
