Quinn Marrow had ninety-nine problems, and a growly, shirtless lion shifter with Alpha delusions of grandeur just became number one.
All she wanted was a quiet six-month sabbatical from her chaotic midwife practice. What she got was an emotionally constipated small-town Alpha with a hero complex, a town full of nosy lion people, and a mystical mate bond that came with pheromones, possessiveness, and absolutely no chill.
Caius Haider had spent fifteen years running a hidden shifter town, micromanaging his pride, and avoiding anything that even remotely smelled like feelings. Then Quinn showed up—bossy, brilliant, utterly off-limits—and knocked the air out of his lungs and the sense out of his head.
Now she's tangled in pride politics, pregnancy conspiracies, murder plots, and worst of all - she might actually be in love with him.
There’s only one when a wolf shifter starts poisoning their babies, this fiery human midwife and her brooding lion mate are going to have to claw their way through secrets, kidnappings, and a hell of a lot of emotional growth if they want to build their happily-ever-after.
Welcome to Leon. Bring snacks. Pack protection. And maybe… don’t piss off the midwife.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
Captivating read, characters Quinn Morrow a lion shifter and Caius Haider an Alpha leader Quinn Marrow is going through a change of work for a few months and is the process of having a change of job for a short time. She previously employed as a midwife and has been looking to change of location, somewhere that was hopefully quieter but seemed to have been placed into a shifter town. Caius Haider is a well-respected lion shifter who is well liked by the shifters that resided in his small town, he is very aware of things that are happening around him and that when Quinn arrived in the town he was in no doubt that she was his fated mate, her scent had called out to him and he was sure she was his fated mate. Ever since Quinn showed up, he has been amazed at her ability, she is brilliant and bossy and she keeps him on his toes at all times. The politics within the pride along with possible murder conspiracy and murder plots it is essential that this matter be rectified. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

What a ride! Pleasure and Mane is laugh-out-loud funny, deliciously steamy, and packed with all the chaos I didn’t know I needed. Quinn is such a fantastic heroine—smart, fiery, and absolutely done with everyone’s nonsense—and watching her butt heads (and hearts) with Caius, the broody, emotionally-clueless lion Alpha, was pure entertainment. Their banter had me grinning, their chemistry was off the charts, and their mate bond? Equal parts hilarious and swoony.
This book has it all: small-town lion shifter drama, pregnancy conspiracies, pride politics, murder plots, and just the right amount of steamy tension to keep the pages flying. Milly Taiden mixes humor, heart, and spice so perfectly that I couldn’t put this down.
If you love paranormal romance with sass, growly Alphas, and heroines who refuse to take anyone’s crap, Pleasure and Mane is a must-read. Welcome to Leon—you’re going to want snacks, protection, and maybe a fan for the heat!

PLEASURE AND MANE by Milly Taiden pub 8/24/25 4 stars Caius & Quinn
She's a midwife and scientist making sure everything used for her patients are safe. He's the Pride alpha leader. She's invited to care for the pregnant sister/wife in the family. The pride is having serious problems with pregnancies and losing new cubs. Her background in delivering babies and researching issues makes her the right person to come and care for the family and try to discover why the pride has trouble. Of course, she is single, and Caius is single, needing a female by his side. Is Quinn that woman? Since she's human, would she be accepted by the pride? Gerri Wilder always knows.
Once again, trouble is part of the romance. Will they solve the lost baby issue?
Dr. Quinn Marrow is an overworked but content midwife when she meets Gerri Wilder at a charity event. The next thing she knows she has agreed to go to a town that isn't on a map, to monitor the pregnancy of a lion shifter who is the sister of the pride's alpha. There is something going on that is causing the pride's females to miscarry, even late into the pregnancy. So, Quinn has two jobs, the other being to figure out what is causing the women to miscarry. Then there is the unexpected attraction to alpha Caius Haider. What exactly does 'mate' mean?
Plenty of drama and hot shifter sex! Enjoy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I loved this book! Another great Gerri Wilder story. Quinn is a midwife and Caius is the Alpha of the local pride. Quinn is asked by Gerri to the town of Leon to watch over Caius’s sister’s pregnancy. There have been several miscarriages in the pride lately. Quinn falls for the handsome Caius and he in turn falls for her. Quinn figures out what is causing the miscarriages. It’s a who and how. This brings Quinn & Caius closer while figuring out how to stop it from happening again. You’ll need to read the book find out the who and how and what happens after. This is a romantic love story with adventure and drama. I received this free book for my review.

Gerri Wilder always finds the most perfect ways to bring mates together. When a lion pride is plagued by difficulties that strike their pregnant women, Quinn becomes the perfect solution. A brilliant midwife, who also happens to be the alpha’s mate.
Quinn’s mind pieces together what escaped so many others. It also lands her in danger from a source that should have been obvious.
I really enjoyed this story, both its romance and its mystery.
Pleasure and Mane (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 91) by Milly Taiden. Quinn is an overworked midwife until Gerry Wilder offered her a job with a lion pride. As soon as Quinn met Caius, alpha of the pride it was obvious they were mates. Quinn had also been asked to look into several cases of miscarriage that had happened recently. It transpired that a crooked developer was causing the miscarriages to try get people to move away so he could develop the land.
Geri Wilder strikes again- another home run! Quinn was hired to be a midwife for the sister of lion shifter alpha Caius. She agreed to leave her established practice to come to monitor a pregnancy- where several others had ended in tragedy. But Quinn wasn't counting on Caius- love at 1st sight, perhaps? And what about the medical mystery? Can Quinn, with Caius help, save the day and get her own happy ending? Another fabulous romance in the PDA series by Milly Taiden!
I really loved this one because there wasn't the usual arguments and denials. I really liked Quinn and Gaius. I can't believe this is the end of the series. I had hoped we would see Gerri find love.
If like me you are always looking for a great paranormal love story, this is one you need to read. I received this book as an ARC, but this is my honest review.
Intriguing plot line. Even though the blurb gave a little too much info. The villain was truly despicable. The pride is wonderful of course. Family is great.
