I had the perfect life. Incredible kids. Amazing husband. A good job. I was content.
Was.
Then I met Jameson, and he turned my entire world upside down and backwards. He’s younger than me, but his intellect and our connection make our age difference feel non-existent.
He makes me feel. It’s something I haven't experienced in longer than I care to admit.
But my life is complicated. I can’t give him what either of us want because I don’t want to lose my children if they ever found out what I’m doing one weekend out of each month with a man who isn’t their father.
Like they tend to do, though, lies, betrayal, and deceit catch up to me, threatening to ruin my whole world.
Is the love I’ve found with Jameson strong enough to survive the implosion? Or will I lose him, too?
Kathryn married and mother of 4 adult children. She is looking for something like excitement , attention love which she no longer has in her marriage so she starts a dangerous game . Then you have Jamie, a much younger attractive man who plays a very big role in Kathryn's game. will she find what she is looking for? And what price should she pay for it. Definitely read. This book offers you suspense, steamy scenes, love and sadness everything you need to not stop reading !!!
"A Dual Lie" by KC Savage is the first half of 'The Silent Sins' Duet. This quick and dirty read is full of reversed tropes! I loved watching Kate coming into her own as a woman and admitting that she deserves to be loved fully. I also enjoyed Jamie as a strong, loving, protective, loyal male protagonist. Savage breaks all of the traditional romance book rules while taking the reader on an unforgettable steamy romp full of drama and heartache, but don't worry, the Happily Ever After is perfectly sweet.
This story is packed full of emotions, betrayals, lies, cheating, and more. I'm kind of new to the cheating trope, but it was fun to read for a change. Kate is a mother of grown kids, her husband is an ok guy but a workaholic who doesn't give her a lot of time or attention. Kate has definitely lost that loving feeling. So when she meets Jameson, a younger man, he makes her feel sexy and alive. They fall in love and she eventually has to come clean to her family. This does end in a HEA.
A tale as old as time; an unhappy wife seeks solace with another man who is 20 years younger than her. The entire situation is honestly sad AF and Savage does a great job conveying that, but overall, the vibe still felt superficial. I think this would have made a bigger impact if it was longer and more fleshed out.
I enjoyed the shortness of the story line and appreciated the younger man loyalty and commitment. Only reason for low rating was the adultery; however, the children was old enough, but if the husband was mean or hatful it would have been easier to like.
It was a good book It was a fun journey i believe the connection between Kate and Jamie is a strong one. I'm only sorry about the way everything came about
This is Kate and Jameson story Kate is the older woman and Jameson gives her a spark that ignites something inside her. They find time together is getting more and more necessary as they get closer to each other. This is a short story with the wife/mother needing something more than a workaholic husband. If you like banter about what to do/not to do this is your book.
Very well written, older woman, younger man Having an affair after meeting online. They knew the chances that they get caught and that the spouse and family would pay the price. Happy that Jamie stayed with Kathryn After the fall out. Very hot, steamy scenes between them, which is what she was lacking in her marriage. She lost the "in love" feeling for her husband. She fines out that the daughter's husband cheater on her so now that causes issues between them. Would recommend this book to others.
I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an interesting storyline. The author does a great job developing the story and paints her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with cheating, betrayal, secrets and steam and kept me reading with all the emotions throughout. The story moves quickly and smoothly and is an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
As years go by, what we want and who we are can change drastically...that how I would describe how things are for Kathryn. She has and amazing family and loving husband, but also has been having an affair with Jameson. The affair has grown too much more and they realize they truly love one another. Kathryn is afraid to hurt anyone by leaving or admitting the affair even though her children are grown and have lives of their own. As these things tend to do, the truth comes out and things implode for Kathryn at home and she is thrust into living her truth with Jameson. They love each other with everything they have even though he's much younger than she is, and her some of Kathryn's family slowly comes to terms with the betrayal in their own ways. It's not all smooth sailing, but Jameson and Kathryn have a love that strong enough to get them through. You can tell how much they love each other and the steamy bits are super hot. Its a fast-read, but it packs a lot of punch into this short story.
The hypocrisy in the comment section shows what's wrong with woman this days . If you all don't have double standards and choose and pick what gender to hate when it comes to cheating and heartbreaking, why not better look for a clinic and ask them to keep you all there for life or at least till you all get read of that sexist and toxic mentality where you all find excuses for such a terrible person. And,no I didn't know it was a book based on cheating as I got it as a present from a friend and stupid me,didn't checked goodreads before starting this book.
I went into this knowing the FMC cheats so my review is not based on that. I found Kate to be be very self centered, thoughtless & bland, especially as she is meant to be a 57 year old with a professional job. Sorry to say the writing style was not for me, it was 3rd person and had no flow, very short and abrupt.
I knew what this story was about before I read it, so my rating isn’t reflecting the cheating aspect. This book just didn’t hit the mark for me.
Katie lost the in love feeling for her husband and goes looking for friendship online only she finds much more. This quick read is full of cheating, lies, secrets, betrayal and family drama.
A fantastic age gap book that takes you on a amazingly sweet journey. Of course there is some bump in the road, but over all, it's a really sweet romance and of course some amazing steemy moments. It has you wanting more and more.
If there is one thing to take away from this book—your happiness should come first. Period.
KC knocked it out of the park with this duet! The story was tight, neat, and believable. Forbidden love is always thrilling! But read book two so you can see how everything wraps up in the end.
