Soairse
I should feel relieved—Xavier finally knows the truth.
My past. My secrets. Every broken piece of me.
But the ghosts haven’t gone quiet.
Gage is still out there, watching from the shadows, waiting to strike.
And the man I’ve trusted with my heart? He’s hiding something.
Again.
I want to believe we can survive this. That love can still be enough.
But some truths don’t set you free.
They destroy you.

Xavier
I’ve built an empire.
Crushed my rivals. Protected what’s mine.
Including her.
But none of that can erase the truth I’ve withheld from Saoirse—the lies I’m still keeping.
I swore I’d never lose her again. Gage is circling, and the past is catching up faster than I can run.
She thinks she knows everything now.
But she doesn’t.
And if I tell her the last secret I’ve been hiding…
I might lose her all over again.

Again, this book picks up right where book 2 ended. The note Xavier received in book 2 had me even more suspicious about Harrison's identity, which I was right about.

There were more secrets that Xavier had kept from Saoirse that came to light, which answered my questions from book one. The aftermath of which led to creating issues between Xavier and Saoirse and only made things more intense given all that was going on.

Soairse had a lot of conflicting thoughts after finding out the secrets Xavier had kept from her, which led to some distance between them. I liked that Soairse was firm on her decision to take her time to process everything and didn't just cave, and I also liked that Xavier respected her wishes despite how difficult it was for him to give her the space she needed.

The spice wasn't too overwhelming, but it was still present, and I liked it.

There were more chapters from Harrison's POV, which kept me intrigued as to what his next steps would be.

However, I was expecting a bit more from the Halloween event. I thought things would get a lot more chaotic and dangerous, but that didn't happen, which left me disappointed. Also, of all the ways Saoirse could've ended where she did, her role in it was the last thing I expected. It felt too immature and dumb on her part to behave the way she did when she knew what was at stake. So for her to pull that move really soured my mood. It just felt too convenient to play into Harrison's plans like that.

3.5/5 ⭐ Book 3 in this novella series and I devoured all three in two days. TWO DAYS PEOPLE
It seriously feels like binge watching your favorite TV drama... fast paced, dark, spicy, and packed with mystery

Each novella is the next episode in the series, and I'm so here for it.

+ billionaire romance
+ secrets and lies unraveling
+ a dancer who preys on men… until she falls for the one she shouldn’t
+ hiding from a dangerous villain

This one felt a little more rushed than the first two, but it still kept me hooked from start to finish.

I need to know how this story ends... I'm obsessed with Xavier and Saoirse.
Their dynamic is toxic, messy, intense… and you can't help but rooting for their HEA!!

“you’re trouble, hurricane.”
“and you love it.”

definitely read the first two novellas in this series before reading this one because it won’t really make sense otherwise. it reads more like a full length book when done that way as well, which made it a bit smoother for me.

i really enjoyed the concept of this book, an estranged father and son, a revenge plot, and a fmc that’s caught in the middle of everything. i do wish there were a lot more details throughout the book and that the pacing wasn’t so fast. i personally found the writing to be pretty bland and the characters to be a little flat and immature.

when it came to the “mysterious” part, i.e., a certain character, it didn’t feel very mysterious at all. this character felt very out of place as if they weren’t meant to be written for this book.

this is book three in a series, meaning there are still things that are unresolved and it ends on a cliffhanger that will have you wanting the next book immediately.

thank you to luna literary management and the author for the e-arc 🌙

"It doesn't matter where you go because I know that in the end, you'll always end up right back where you are now."

Saoirse and Xavier's relationship is based off of lies and deceit. They both messed up, they both hid the truth and the truth comes back to bite them both in the ass.
This novella sure packs a punch, book 3 in the series and the punch has left me winded and waiting for the next installment.

A Simple Choice: An Age-Gap Billionaire Romance | Danielle Sarah

🖤🖤🖤🖤/5

I devoured the third installment of the Simple Game series and left absolutely no crumbs. Xavier and Saoirse continue to live rent-free in my head and I'm not even mad about it. 😍

"A Simple Choice" picks up right after that WILD ending from book 2, and the ride only gets more intense. Saoirse has finally laid her secrets bare to Xavier, but we all know that's never the end of the story, right? While our girl thinks she's finally come clean, Xavier is STILL keeping secrets (because, of course he is). Their chemistry remains off-the-charts explosive, but their foundation is shakier than my self-control at a bookish sticker sale.

This novella is short but packs a punch and a whole lot of spice! That Mad House scene at the Halloween Haunt... 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I had to put my kindle down and do some breathing exercises. While these characters have enough issues to keep a therapist employed for decades, in book 3, we do see some early signs of emotional growth and maturity as they begin peeling back their secrets together.

It should go without saying that Xavier continues to be that perfect blend of protective and problematic that has me absolutely WEAK, but I don't mind repeating myself. 😈

Tropes:

💙 Novella 3 in series (books must be read in order!)
⛓️‍💥 Billionaire romance (but give it a dark twist)
💙 Revenge
⛓️‍💥 Age gap (20 Years)
💙 All of the secrets are out
⛓️‍💥 Daddy shmink
💙 Groveling & grand gestures
⛓️‍💥 Spice
💙 Multi POV

This series continues to deliver with each book getting progressively more addictive. The stakes are higher, the secrets are darker, and the spice? INCENDIARY. Book 4 is set to debut in July and I'll do my best to hold on until then, but I make nooooo promises!🔥

If you haven't started this series yet, what are you even DOING with your TBR? A Simple Choice (book 3) comes out April 25, 2025 - thank you to Luna Literary Management and Danielle Sarah for the opportunity to read this book.

ARC 24- A SIMPLE CHOICE
Author- Danielle Sarah
3rd in A Simple Game Novella series
Tropes- billionaire with a dark twist, all the secrets are out, revenge, grovelling and grand gestures, multiple pov, age gap, daddy kink.

Trigger warning- explicit content and mentions of blackmail and kidnap.

Please note, you must read the previous two novellas in this series to understand this novella.

Plot:

“SOME CHOICES HAUNT US FOREVER.”

This is very much true and apt for our MMC and FMC. Just after the relaxing time he had with Saoirse, he reads the letter sent for him…by Gage, his son.

Xavier’s secret is revealed- he knew Gage was Harrison, his estranged son. The picture of the beautiful woman whom Harrison was dating, that was Saoirse. He had recognised her immediately and thus pursued her to get help connecting with his son. Gage’s plan to rob him and falling for Saoirse were out of the blue.

Realising that Gage knows that they are onto him along with the ever-growing guilt, Xavier tells Saoirse the truth, much to her shock, anger and dismay. They both had been keeping secrets from each other.

Gage was burning with the need to bring down his father after all that had happened, especially with his mother. Saoirse’s feelings for Xavier further fuelled his anger. He just didn’t stop at launching a cyber attack at his company, he had more planned, including kidnapping Saoirse. According to him, she betrayed him, when he was the one who gave her a new life after Brooks cheated on her. And out of all the people, she fell for his father, he was determined to break their lives.

With the shocking discovery, Saoirse upset and in need for space makes the mistake of heading to Ravenscroft. One of the many choices which costed them. It became easier for Gage to kidnap her.

Gage gives Xavier 72 hours to find her….the real game now begins. The question is- who wins?

Opinion:
If the previous two books left the reader on a cliffhanger, then this is the steepest cliffhanger I’ve been left on. I thought this would be the concluding novella, jokes on me, sigh. This novella is the pictorial perfect description of TEASER. It was more of a longer bookish kinda teaser, a really short novella.
I had my hunches about Gage being Xavier’s son, and I was right!!
Saoirse was greatly upset, hurt and angry with Xavier and she has all rights to. But the decision she made of going to Ravenscroft out of haze did cost them heavily.
Our billionaire who knows how to treat his girl has a lot of grovelling, rescuing and brain storming to do.

Well, a toast to us awaiting the last novella in this series- The Conclusion.

🌶️🌶️

I'm going to chuck it up to the fact that it's been a while since I read the first two books, but I felt a little lost reading this.

Also Saoirse getting mad at Xavier for keeping Gage/Harrison's true identity a secret was laughable. Considering the only reason Saoirse and Xavier relationship exist is because of a lie. And now we are three books in and still doing this back and forth you lied, I lied, we lied game.

Saoirse knows how dangerous Gage is, I really struggled with understanding why she wasn't taking his lurking more seriously....he literally tried to kill them and her response "what difference does it make" pure insanity.

The best part of this novella was Xavier telling Saoirse's mother off. Because finally someone did! "Now that I've had the displeasure of meeting you..." I mean iconic.

Overall not much happened within the storyline. The last couple of chapters were frustrating because Saoirse was just reckless, and clueless. I wanted to throw my kindle across the room from the overload of stupidity.

I read the other novellas in a matter of hours, but it's took me several days, because it just didn't grab me. I do plan to read book 4 because I'm invested enough in the overall story and generally excited to see how everything wraps up. And I need to know what happens after the cliff hanger.

Thank you Luna Literary and Danielle Sarah for providing me a copy of A Simple Choice and allowing me to give my honest review.

A Simple Choice continues Saroise’s and Xavier’s romance story. Xavier is shaken by the mystery note and he received. After she begged for his forgiveness and came clean about everything, he held on to a big secret. Xavier finally comes clean she is furious, but they work it out in a spicy way. Xavier is trying to figure out what’s happening at work and Saroise is getting stir cray. She decides she’s going to go back to the club for a shift to get out of the apartment. Saroise and Xavier understand each other and their chemistry is off the charts. It’s not enough for Gage to steal from Xavier but he plans to destroy his father’s business and life. The story ends on another cliffhanger after Gage makes his final move. This is a great spicy novella with a romance that started off in the most unlikely way.

Thank you to Danielle Sarah and The Luna Literary team for the privilege to read an advanced copy of A Simple Choice.

Review:
Danielle you can’t keep doing this to me woman! Another cliffhanger and I’m still on the edge of my seat. Let me tell you that this book had me soo excited, confused and even frustrated. Gage makes me mad, let’s just say that. Nyx and Xavier’s chemistry is top 10 like no joke. I don’t want to say anymore so this series doesn’t get spoiled- BUT, I will say I highly recommend, considering this series is short novellas and the plot is plotting? Oh yea I definitely recommend, but of course do read the TW/CWs before hand since this is a dark read, happy reading babies!

Tropes:

If you’re looking for something short, spicy, and full of twists and turns look no further. A Simple Choice is book 3 in a series of novellas and it does need to be read in order.

I am hooked on these novellas I am so excited for the next one, not only was the cliffhanger on this insane but the next novella will also be completing the series! These books are dark and twisty. The FMC Saoirse is morally gray and I love her. The MMC Xavier is obsessed with his girl from day one and the things he does for her are top tier. These novellas are all so spicy! There is quite a bit packed into them but they aren’t all smut they are all very plot heavy still.

The fourth and final novella releases in July and I can’t wait to read how their story ends.

ARC REVIEW:

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

TROPES/THEMES: Billionaire, Age Gap, Betrayal, Secret Identities, Revenge plot, Multi POV, Novella

CW: degradation, daddy kink, CNC/dubcon, stalking (not by MMC)

This is the 3rd book in the A Simple Game series and cannot be read as a standalone

I love this series so much and can't wait for book 4!! I'm honestly not ready for it to end. I need Danielle Sarah to just continue dropping a novella every 3/4 months for the rest of my life to feed my obsession with Saoirse and Xavier.

Saoirse did get on my nerves a little bit with her stubbornness but I still love her so much and can't wait to see how their story ends. Xavier saying she's his wife and calling her Mrs Atwood was not something I knew I needed in my life, he had me so giddy 🤭

As always I have to mention my love for Kellen, there is just something about him and I needed more cameos from him. I want him to get his own book so bad 🙏🤲

Thank you so much to Danielle Sarah and Luna Literary Management for this ARC

What happens when the liar becomes the lied to? Soarise and Xavier have just gotten their relationship back together... but Xavier is hiding some dark secrets that could completely tear their relationship apart... and with Xavier's son coming after them... and who he really is to Soarise... things are only going to get more complicated. This was a fun continuation to the story and I can't wait for the final book that is coming out next!! I am just so intrigued by the relationship between Soarise and Xavier and can't wait to finally see how it all plays out for them!! This was a fast read and a series I would absolutely recommend for anyone who enjoys a romance with so many twists and turns.

A Simple Choice, the third novella in A Simple Game series by Danielle Sarah, continues the intense story of Xavier and Saoirse. This series must be read in order—these books are not standalones. The story is continuous, and each novella so far ends on a cliffhanger, so be ready to dive into the next one as soon as you finish!

The first novella hooked me right away—it was amazing. The second one hit a bit of a plateau for me and felt slower, but A Simple Choice picked up the pace again and pulled me back in. I don’t want to give too much away, but it feels like we’re entering the final act of an action movie—things are getting serious, and the male lead seems ready to risk everything to save his girl.

Trigger warning: This story includes some dark and potentially distressing topics, so please read with care.

3.5 ⭐️

This the third novella in the Simple Games series and must be read in order to be able to follow the story.

Wow okay what an ending haha once again Danielle loving leaving us hanging. I am so hooked on Xavier and Saoirse’s story a relationship started on lies and deceit that has kept me on the edge of my seat from the start. As always their chemistry was intense and so freaking hot I can’t wait for more! Haha
For a small novella this definitely left me needing more and questing everything and what’s going to happen next! Cannot wait for the next instalment in July!

I couldn’t wait to dive back into Xavier and Saoirse’s Story! A Simple Choice is the third novella in the A Simple Game Series. The books must be read in order. The first and second novellas, A Simple Game & A Simple Lie, are available now! Danielle Sarah is the Queen of cliff hangers. This novella was just as great as the first too, flowed really nicely and had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It’s a quick but entertaining read that will have you second guessing what you think you know will happen. The secrets are out and Saoirse’s and Xavier’s lives are at risk. I love Saoirse’s feisty personality, she loves to fight her attraction to Xavier. Xavier and her are explosive, the spice was spicing. I cannot wait for the next and final instalment of this series.

This was a fast-paced short story following both Soairse and Xavier. Two people with run-ins with the same person, with two different paths, let into something different and more. Caught in the middle of a feud and difficult past between father and son, they both figure out how to navigate their lives, but still keep the secret. This was quite a fast-paced book that ends on a cliffhanger, and of course, you need to read the two prior books because it’ll give you some more context. To have made it five stars for me, I did wish that there was a bit more context and a fuller story to this book. But also, to provide some more detail within this book so that you could practically also imagine what's going on.

I’m a bit disappointed with this one! I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. I loved Saoirse as an FMC, I thought she was strong with a take no 💩 attitude but was reasonable and could admit when she’s at fault…in this book, she almost becomes a bit of a hypocrite.

Now I won’t give anything away, but, there was just certain things that happened in the middle of the book that dragged on and left me feeling extremely disappointed in her. And, also, left me feeling a bit like Xavier was slightly out of character too. I’m wondering now if this was supposed to be groveling…it just didn’t hit the way I wanted.

But it did pick right back up towards the end so, I am still looking forward to the final installment of this book! July can’t come any sooner!

This is Novella Three of the Simple Games series and although I hadn’t read the others in the series, I was able to read this novella as a standalone without too much trouble. This novella revolves around Saoirse and Xavier, and their forbidden relationship - Saoirse has dated two of Xavier’s sons before. With one of them now stalking them and threatening their lives and happiness, this short novella has l spice, deception and mystique. I did feel that the villain plot in this story felt a bit forced for me and kinda random, but nonetheless a nice quick read.

Continuation of series, MUST be read in order.
Saoirse finally met her match because Xavier really played his part!
He told her to make whose day?!
That Mad House scene had me 🥵 CNC to a very risky degree.
Also, any man who will rent out an entire theater to play my favorite slasher flicks is SO getting it 😘
Her and her ex, Brooks, buried the hatchet, so to speak, which makes sense unless she wanted to be a hypocrite. Mommy and Daddy issues all the way around 😅
I love this little series and cannot wait to find out what happens next as Harrison is up to NO good.

I go into these knowing good and damn well there is going to be a cliffhanger at the end of the novella and still EVERY TIME it ends I find myself upset there isn’t more!
I want so badly to say a little about it, but it’s not really that possible without giving away important info in the story. Since they are interconnected… I don’t want to ruin it.
I am ready for the next one already and can’t wait to find out what happens next. Cause legit… how are you going to just leave us like that!?

I had goosebumps the entire time I read this novella. The tension and waiting game for the main characters was well done. Gage is an interesting villain and you can somewhat sympathize with him (or maybe it's just me lol). Saoirse is caught in the middle and the reveal had me gasping and hoping that she would make a choice that would benefit her. Xavier's reasoning behind his actions made me swear and pinch the bridge of my nose; the time to reveal pertinent information is early on, bro!!

This was a good, quick read and I am salivating for the next book!

ARC READER REVIEW!
3.5⭐️

This is book #3 in this novella series, so make sure to read the first two-a simple game and a simple lie- first or else you’ll be lost.

From the first time Saoirse and Xavier meet, their relationship is built on lies with half truths mixed in. Both have secrets the other doesn’t know, but they always have a way of coming out.
While trying to come clean to each other and figure out where their relationship goes from there, outside forces are scheming against them.
All 3 novella’s are an easy read with twists and turns constantly happening.

Oh, hell to the yes. I was so ready for this one at the end of A Simple Lie and it did not disappoint for me. I went back and reread the first 2 books since they're novellas just to prepare myself for this one.

Short and punchy like the other ones - the drama and spice are both there. It's tangled web with the characters. You do have to read books 1 & 2 in order otherwise this won't make sense, but again, novellas so it wouldn't take you long. Can't say much without totally spoiling this.

I am ready for book no. 4!

⚠️ Warning ⚠️ this is the third book in the series and you need to read the first two to know what’s going on!

Another one with a cliffhanger? When’s the next book coming out again? I cannot wait, even tho these are shorter stories they keep you attached and have a feel of a normal length book. With each one I pick it up and can’t put it down. This one did feel a little more rushed but I can’t wait to see how this story ends for Saorise and Xavier. Can’t wait for the next book!

OMG the tension!! I could not stop reading the moment I started this book! Saoirse and Xavier and everything! They have been through so much deceit together, and when Saoirse learns the truth she spirals into believing she can’t trust Xave. She starts building a wall between them and runs away from Xave and the situation they have with Harrison! Unfortunately he has eyes everywhere, the end is soo suspenseful!! I can’t wait for A simple game!!
