Started out strong but …

Started out strong but quickly realized there was a lot of repetition. They continuously say the same things over and over. There was no real hooking point to the book either. At one point her ex shows up and it’s all so very anticlimactic. Also, I’m not a mechanic - but in the book the FMC is having car trouble. Everything she describes happening, sounds like the Starter is going. Which is a fairly cheap/easy fix. Now the problem is … FMCs car finally dies and they call in the brother who is supposed to be knowledgeable about cars and instead of it being anything remotely in the realm of reasons why a car wouldn’t start … he says it’s that Catalytic Converter- which has to do with the exhaust on a car and wouldn’t cause any of the problems the FMCs car has.

My Ex’s Brothers

Warning!

There will be spoilers!

You’ve been warned

Okay. Wanting to unalive a character in the first chapter of a book is surprising.

Dex deserves a fate much worse than that though.

Dane is such a sweetheart, dropping everything in a heartbeat to be there for Amelia. There’s history there. It feels as though it might be painful but we’re going to have to wait and see. Him being that jerkwad’s twin might not help things.

Richard is a bit of a mystery. I’m getting heated, dominating vibes off of him. Sure, like the other brothers he is disgusted by Dex’s life choices but it seems as though they are almost all on the same page with their attraction to Amelia, who’s experiencing some of that herself, times three.

Tripp is going to be the fun one. Hours after meeting him I can already tell he’s got major golden retriever energy, but he’s more mature than most.

“Good girl.” Good gosh, Rich. Just stop already big don’t-wanna-be-a-daddy.

So, they’ve managed to convince her that it’s a good idea for her and Lyla to move in. Day one and WOW.

Tripp is just that … Tripp.

Dane is so adorable and supportive and Rich. For someone so adamant about not wanting to have kids he sure seems like he really wants to be a daddy. (See what I did there?)

I’m a wee bit disappointed that she let Lyla go to her grandparent’s house after having so much anxiety over what they might be thinking, but we don’t even get to see the drop off moment. It’s just skipped. We’ve been left hanging. What are grandma and grandpa’s thoughts on this messed up situation?

I’m kind of mad that no one even attempted to approach Mia at the practice though. She moved home for a fresh start and needs to build her own village. Jerks.

Dane, my guy. That was some smart, maniacal and somewhat romantical maneuvering there bud. Like you totes wanted Tripp to walk in to that five bedroom house to find you utilizing the couch. Also, what is up with these men and this couch? It’s like an aphrodisiac or something.

Daddy, I mean Rich. I mean Daddy. Time to take Amelia on that magic carpet ride and show her the world. Question, what is a breeding kink? I’m scared to ask Siri. She’s highly judgmental.

I like the spicy times. Muy mucho. I do not like the use of the word hole. I mean, it is one technically, but in such instances, it’s about as sexy as the word moist.

Op, turns out Siri was unnecessary. Richie explains the term quite well. In fact, I mean, not for me, but yucking someone else’s yum is also not for me. It’s not bad, a little strange, but aren’t we all?

Dang, girlie. Two down and one to go. Amelia, the woman with the golden … hole.

Things are getting so cute. I mean it’s a little superficial and we’re not really given a bunch of growth but things are moving along well.

Crap. Spoke too soon. This fother mucker better back the hell up. She’s moved onto bigger, better things without your drama. Team hockey stick to the brain over here.

I gotta say something about these spicy scenes that might make someone mad, but they sure do a whole bunch to get where they get only for the action (thrusting, gyrating, moving) to last like two sentences. They’re good, don’t get me wrong, just very quick. Which theoretically might be a good thing considering it’s three on one.

Okay. What the heck was that?

I have a few complaints

A- what is Amelia’s background? Family is never brought up
B- in the epilogue it’s been 6 months and Lyla is still in a jumper? I know babies develop at their own speed but the author wasn’t very consistent with her age appropriate skills and development throughout the book so I’m not really surprised I guess.
C-Richie is retired and building motorcycles. Tripp is graduating and going pro. What about Dane?
D-where is he and what ever happened to Dex? Like what did having him show up and try to cause trouble in the last few chapters do to the story considering we find out nothing.
E-the whole scandal was so huge Amelia had to run back home and the Rose family was harassed, yet nothing in the entirety of the book does it mention what anyone else thinks.
F-whatever happened to Amelia’s best friend? She babysits Lyla and then poof disappears.
G- I googled it and there’s a bit more to it (breeding kink) than is explained in the book. I found it a bit misinterpreted. It could have been explained a little better I guess.

All in all the book held promise. To me it fell flat.

Amelia wasn’t given her closure, we don’t even know if anyone besides the four of them know about their relationship and I get that RHs are supposed to be spicy, but aside from that there are maybe a handful of interactions that didn’t insinuate or lead to the sexy couch and Amelia’s … hole.

This book just wasn't it for me. The insta-lust was way too much, and there wasn’t enough buildup for any of the relationships let alone one that was actually done well. Don’t get me wrong, I get that this is a why choose standalone, but I’ve seen it done successfully in other books.

Also, why did we only get like half a chapter of confrontation with Dex?? He’s supposed to be the villain, but we barely saw him. He honestly felt more like a background character.

Overall, everything felt rushed and kind of all over the place. Halfway through this book I already wanted to dnf. 🫤 1.5 ⭐

Amelia is returning to her hometown with her young baby. She can't believe she fell for the wrong twin especially when it was the other twin Dane, she was initially interested in. Dex swooped in with his charm and charisma and swept her off her feet, but she soon found out the hard way, that it was only skin deep. All Dex cared about was Dex.

Dane has loved Amelia from their initial contact something he kept to himself, especially with her being in a relationship and having a baby with his twin. As usual, Dex, couldn't handle him having something or someone nice, he had to take it away from him.

When Amelia finds herself in a predicament, the only one she can turn to is Dane, who is more than happy to help out. When he finds out how bad it is for Amelia he talks to his brothers who live with him Richie, the oldest, and their step-brother Tripp about them helping her out.

All the brothers soon fall under Amelia's and their niece's spell, this beautiful, strong woman and gorgeous baby Layla have been treated awfully by their selfish brother but they are determined to make life a lot easier for Amelia and the baby.

Amelia can't believe she is living with her insanely hot ex's brothers. Her attraction to them escalates, with being nearby and they don't make it easier, by flirting with her. Lines blur, then crossed, can it work out for them all or will Dex always be between them?

I went into My Ex’s Brothers expecting heat, but Laylah Snow delivered so much more—a story about redemption, resilience, and the kind of love that refuses to be ignored.

After her ex abandoned her and their daughter, the heroine isn’t looking for love—especially not with another hockey player. But fate has a wicked sense of humor, and instead of one man, she finds herself tangled up with three—each of them a gorgeous, irresistible temptation with a heart to match.

There’s Richie, the silver fox who exudes authority and protectiveness; Tripp, the younger star who worships the ground she walks on; and Dane, her ex’s twin—proving that while DNA may be the same, character is everything. These brothers don’t just want her in their bed—they want to rebuild the pieces of her broken heart, proving that real love means showing up and staying.

The tension is scorching, the chemistry undeniable, and the emotional stakes? Through the roof. And when the ex storms back in, trying to ruin the happiness she’s found? Let’s just say the brothers bring the fight both on and off the ice.

If you love:
🏒 Steamy why-choose romance with irresistible heroes
❤️‍🔥 Protective, devoted men who step up where others fail
👩‍👧 A single mom finding love and finally getting the devotion she deserves

Then My Ex’s Brothers belongs on your shelf. It’s spicy, emotional, and packed with the kind of romance that leaves you breathless—and maybe a little jealous of one very lucky heroine!.

melting the ice

FMC: Mia
MMC: Dane, Tripp, and Richie

Oh man. Okay I’m giving this story 4 stars simply because we never really find out what happens with the situation with Dex. Did they go to court of Lyla? Did he give up his rights? Did he go back to Riley? Does he have anything to do with his other children? He seems like a cocky mess so I’m very curious how that turned out and would have loved some closure on that front.
However, one of the things I enjoyed about this book wasn’t some huge drama between the characters that lead to them splitting and then finding their way back to one another. They were “solid” as Mia would say, the whole way through. I’m so glad we got the bonus scene though because I was dying to know whose baby Mia was having and I’m even happier it was Dane. He was a sweetheart through and through. Plus, the brothers seemed to have a better dynamic in the bonus chapter than they did the rest of the book. Most reverse harems I’ve read, they’re all comfortable with each other, especially during group activities, but these brothers seemed to prefer 1 on 1. Nothing wrong with that, it was just different once! They seemed to banter and argue more during the group scenes and only participated cause it was what Mia wanted. Which again, is not a bad thing, I’m just glad they seemed to be more at ease towards the end and during the bonus chapter.

My Ex’s Brothers is a sizzling, heartwarming romance that proves love can come from the most unexpected places.

After being abandoned by her ex, Amelia is determined to focus on her daughter and her independence. The last thing she expects is for his three irresistible brothers to step in and turn her world upside down. Richie, the confident silver fox; Tripp, the charming younger hockey star; and Dane, the kindhearted twin, each bring something special into her life—and together, they make Amelia question everything she thought she wanted.

This book is packed with steamy tension, heartfelt moments, and a found-family dynamic that makes it impossible to put down. If you love protective heroes, a strong single mom, and second chances at love, My Ex’s Brothers is a must-read!.

This is a good book. Took me two days to read. Emotional rollercoaster in this book. Sadness and anger at how she has been treated. Relief with the offers of help. Stress with the way her emotions are rolling all around while trying to figure out what she wants.

Dane is Dexter's (Dex) twin brother, Richie is the oldest brother and Tripp is the youngest but is the stepbrother. Amelia (Mia) was cheated on by Dex, with a wife and three other women. Amelia returned to their hometown to raise their daughter who he doesn't want to have anything to do with. His brother's step up to help Mia and Lyla by being a supportive family. The attraction is undeniable between the four of them.

Will they share Mia? Will they stand up for her against Dex? Will she find a job and leave the house leaving the brothers behind? Is she to independent? Let's finish reading to find out!

Hot

Spice level 3/5
This was hot, I loved the competitive banter between the guys. Each guy had swoon worthy qualities.
HEA for all
Her ex cheats but no painful details to torture you. The author didn't address the ex's threats but Richard said he'd take care of it so we know he did still would've liked to see the ex suffer more.
The fmc was cute and she didn't just fall into letting her rich men take care of her, she got her job so that made me happy.
I would have liked Richard's prediction to come true (no spoilers) but the author left that out.
I was disappointed about one character hoping his growth and love for Mia would change his mind on something big but it appears it didn't. (No spoilers sorry)
This had all the feels, plenty of sex not huge drama which was refreshing I loved the age gaps too it made it interesting.
Definitely worth reading.

Awesome read

The pace was not slow. I appreciate that about a book. The scandal really pulled me in. And Dax is a piece of work.
Spoilers:

Dax came into the book for the length of time that he did, while shaking things up for Mia, wasn't there long. The book length was good. However, that could have gone longer, and it could have solidified the relationships even further. And not exploring Amelia's past with her parents was. Disappointing. But other than those 2 areas, I LOVED this book. There were a good amount of intimate moments, and they didn't seem raunchy. I liked them. Usually, I skip through those parts, but not in this book. Those scenes were nice to read. Overall, the book was great!!! I give it a 4.8, but only choice was 4 or 5. And 4.8 was closer to 5. I didn't want to put the book down either. So, reading the extra chapter was a MUST for me

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Amelia, Dane, Richard, & Tripp. Amelia has decided to return to her home town. This is the one place she never thought she would be coming back with a baby in toe. When she gets back to town though she finds out the job she was applying for wants her to interview that day. The only problem with this is she hasn't set up her child care yet. Dane, Richard, and Tripp have each found themselves meeting up with Amelia the one woman they can't seem to forget. Can they all find a HEA or will others make sure that never happens?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This was a well written and really engaging romance. Amelia, or Mia, and her wee daughter, Lyla, are back in town after she finds out that her ex not only cheated on her but was actually married with a family. Yikes! In a hard way, she never expected to connect with his brothers. These three fine men are more than ready to help her and their niece out, but none of them can deny the connection and chemistry they feel with her. Sadly, her ex still tries to cause troubles for her... I really enjoyed how Mia's story unfolded, and how strong she was. All the wonderful characters and the hot romance made this a page turner for me. Well done!

My Ex's Brothers: A Why Choose Hockey Romance is a steamy, OTT, reverse-harem, single mom gets her 3 hotties romance. Amelia is a single mom who was abandoned by her ex, Dex, who was a bit of an arrogant narcissist. Now, she turns to his twin brother, Dane for help and he's there for her along with his 2 other brothers. Dane is loving and sweet, with a soft spot for Amelia, Richie is the older, hunky, silver fox, and Tripp is the younger, sexy, hockey player. They all end up falling for her and their niece. This was a hot and steamy read with great chemistry and a happy ending after some Dex drama.

This was a sweet one

I enjoyed this RH romance. I like how the baby is incorporated into the story and how the men all dote on her. Some stories mention a child but leave it at that and the child is just a very minor side character. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was a confrontation with the ex where he sees Amelia with all three of his brothers and how well they treat her. The description is a bit misleading as the scene with her ex is very minor and not really mentioned further. This is more about her relationships with the other three, which is fine. It was sweet how they take care of Amelia and Lyla.

Let Down

I was hopeful.
My main problem with this book was the lack of resolution. This seemed more of an HFN instead of HEA. There was really no conclusion with Dex, which made it seem as if there could be more disruption later down the line.
Also, I was not a fan of the way the guys handled their relationship with Mia. There was way too much competition and not enough teamwork. And don't get me started on Richard. I normally don't pick favorites in a harem, but he was mine. Although the fact that he was forced into parenthood when it wasn't something he wanted really bothered me.
Maybe this type of story is for some readers, but it was not my cup of tea.

I really loved this book, I loved that each guy brought something different to the table. I've been on a reverse harem kick and the last few, all the guys felt like they blended together, no real difference other than looks. The only thing that bugged me is the Dex situation he popped in said he'd see her in court but nothing really came of it or if it did we didn't get to read about it. It felt really unnecessary to have him pop up if nothing was gonna happen. I did however really appreciate the fact we didn't have to deal with a 3rd act break up over some dramatic miscommunicationn that could've easily been avoided.

The story is a little provocative. Girl gets duped, has baby, finds the truth, and returns home to find that what she left was what she had been seeking. The story line is intriguing, although why introduce Dex as more than a back story line if the character was not going to be further developed or cause more drama.

Tripp is adorable, Richard is interesting, although I am unsure if his kink is aptly explained, and Dane is the rock steady that makes this reverse harem work. At the end of the day, it is a feel good HEA story. A cute read.

I really, really enjoyed this book. The story was so endearing with added spice thrown in to keep it interesting.
The characters were so well written with fantastic development for each so you could see their personalities shine through. Tripp was my favourite as he really is like a little puppy. He was just so cute and funny.
I've only read a couple of books by Laylah so far but I look forward to reading more as I've enjoyed them all.

This was a fantastic RH romance.

Dane, Richie and Tripp have the typical sibling relationships.. tons of affectionate snark. Loved that.

Amelia was a great fmc... strong, but admits when she needs help. Good riddance to the ex... hello to a happy life with his three sweet and schmexy brothers.

Loved the characters, the age differences was fun. Fairly low-angst, with lots of heat and heart. Great book!.

Ex's brothers

This book was pretty good, but there were a few things that messed with the flow. With all the things that drew her to Dane on their first meeting, why on earth did she go with Dex? The author doesn't explain that and it makes me feel like Amelia was rather shallow, since all he had going for him was charisma and money. She gave up butterflies for that? Then the main conflict was never resolved. It just disappeared, what was the point of putting it in there in the first place?

I really liked the characters, though I missed seeing more of their group interactions. The FMC also jumped into bed too fast with one of the guys she barely had a connection with, while she held back with the ones she actually did. The feelings developed too quickly overall — I would’ve liked a slower build and more development before love came into play. The closure was also too fast and could’ve been handled better. To be honest, I couldn’t really see her relationship with all the MMCs lasting — maybe just with one of them.

She met Dane in a bar and was interested in seeing what could happen until his brother Dax walked in. Now she is back in town a year later with a little girl and broken heart from Dax. The last people that she expects to welcome her back with open arms are his brothers, but in realty they do not want anything to do with their brother and are more then help to be her knights in shining armor.

Amelia fell for the wrong twin and now she is paying the price and returning back home with a daughter in tow. What she doesn't expect is for Dex's brothers to come out in full support for her. Wow what a piece of work her ex is to do what he did. She never thought his family would want anything to do with her or the baby. She did meet Dane first so the connection there makes sense. What she doesn't expect is the instant connection she has with his other brothers. Its really great to see how much they are willing to help her out with the baby. I would love to see what the future holds for them.

Amelia moves back to her hometown with her daughter Lyla after finding out her boyfriend Dexter/baby daddy is married with children and has other girlfriends too. Dexter's brothers/stepbrother offer support much to her surprise as Amelia has problems finding work and end up offering her to live with them. Amelia falls in love with Dex who is a hot hockey player. However, after she has a baby she finds out he is not who she thinks he is. She returns home and falls for his two brothers and his stepbrother. They work out the logistics of a RH and all take care of her daughter. I recommend this book to all RH romance readers.

It has been a while since I’ve enjoyed a reverse harem, and this one was great to get back into the trope! I loved the way the brothers all jumped in to help and support Amelia after their brother & father of her baby, was revealed as having a double life. Each brother is unique with specific ways of making her & the baby’s life happier and loved. I love a good sports romance on top of it being an RH, especially hockey! This book is spicy and fun and definitely worth the read!

I like the plot line and story, but I will be honest and say that as much as I wish it would keep me reading, it didn’t I felt that motion I often get on keep reading the story and what comes next. Now this is just my opinion. I love this author and she write great stories, it just that this was, I didn’t click that motion of intrigue in this story, like in her other books.
